We had a wonderful time enjoying the mountain hikes and water sports that are easily accessible from this property. The hill down to the boat dock is steep, but my 15 year old daughter that recently had knee surgery was able to make it up and down the path - she just had to take it slow. We enjoyed the canoe and paddleboards, the board games, and the pool table. Each afternoon we had a short rain shower and the indoor games/puzzles/pool table/ping pong kept us entertained until the rain could pass. The kitchen is well-equipped and the property owner was very responsive. The lay-out of the home worked perfectly for us because our teenage children could have the main floor while we had the upstairs. The lower level game room gave the teens a private escape while we prepared meals each evening on the main level.
Beautiful mountainous retreat! Private, heavily forested area. We enjoyed the ping pong table and canoe. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Extra special to have a variety of seasonings to add to our potatoes. The towels were great quality. Loved the lake view from the dock! As noted on other reviews, stairs to the lake were numerous and one small area of decline was steep and without a railing. Wear good tennis shoes that grip-it rained almost the entire time we were there so this spot was particularly treacherous. As with almost every home in this area, it was designed vertically so many stairs are in the home as well-to get to the master, to go to the basement to play ping pong. Need to have good knees! The beds were firm so bring an egg crate if you prefer a softer surface. We really enjoyed the porches with the rockers, hammocks and fantastic woodland/lake views! We spent many hours reading out there! The hummingbirds, tufted titmouse family, chipmunk and squirrels we really fun to watch. The owner supplied food for their feeders. We had brief interactions with the property manager who was swift and helpful and the housekeeper who was sweet and delightful! I definitely recommend this lovely home if you want a wooded retreat to unwind. We would love to return!!!
House was found per our expectations and plenty clean. I'd clarify the description of the bedrooms to Master/King/Bath Suite upstairs of the main level: very private. The two other bedrooms are on the main level. The sofabed is downstairs in the Game Room and is equipped with an extra thick mattress/cushion that can be used to make it comfortable - this was draped over the pool table. Bathrooms on all three floors. Internet plenty fast. TV is fine but didn't get much use. Both the main level and the Game Room have deck/patio access via sliding doors. House/kitchen has everything you need including grill tools. Grill was very clean. A full spare propane tank on standby. Water toys were enjoyed and we did bring our own ski vests - I do not know if these were available? This house, along with most others on the lake that have private docks, is situated quite a bit higher than the lake level as the terrain is so steep. Sets of stairs and a landscaped path are provided, with the great fire pit sitting area on the way down to the dock. Firewood is not provided but can be scavenged out of the woods: plenty of this to be had, but one can take a short drive and pass roadside firewood for sale too. We had a great stay third week of June 2022 w/beautiful weather. The mountains Cool down nicely at night, probably mid-high 60's early in the morning. Central A/C and dehumidifier kept the house comfortable as you'd expect. Lake water temperature about perfect: refreshing but not cold, I'd guess high 70's. Absolutely perfect boating weather: a bit hot in the sun, nice in the shade under the bimini. A free public boat ramp, which we used, is just a mile away. From the dock it is just a short boat ride of a few hundred yards. My GMC gps vectored me over Cullowhee Mountain Road on arrival from Interstate 40: best to avoid this goat path. Use Rt. 107 instead to go to south to Cashiers and to/from the 40. Our stay: As Good As It Gets.
The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The owner Mike was very nice and easy to get in touch with. We had a little car trouble and Mike helped us out by letting us use his tools. The only thing is we didn't realize how steep it was down to the water. There is a nice walk way but for a person with a knee replacement it was a hard walk. My kids had no trouble .
I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this one had the most beautiful view and best outside spaces (inside too). It was perfect! The lake is amazing! We enjoyed the canoe, kayak and paddle board and I enjoyed having the whole top floor master suite to myself.
The house was immaculate, equipped with everything you could possibly need, and decorated beautifully. The owners were very accommodating and you can tell that they take pride in their property. We would definitively back here again.
The property was exactly as described. Great location on the lake. The house came with everything you need. Communication from the property manager was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful place, very clean. You will get your exercise walking to the water and back! We rented a boat, Went cliff jumping, sliding rock and white water rafting. This location was great for all. Best part about this house is how clean it is. That is most important to me!
This house was fully stocked. It had everything we could possibly need. The owners are lovely friendly people and very helpful. It was an awesome trip!
We, 3 ladies in our late 60’s, had a wonderful time at this beautiful home in the mountains. It was very clean and well appointed. Very nicely decorated also. Our only problem was maneuvering the trail down to the lake. It was very steep and slippery. Some hand railings would have been nice. We were told that a golf cart would be provided to access the dock. When we arrived we were told that the golf cart was in the shop. Other than that, we had a great time!
