Family Friendly Beach Bungalow 2 blocks to beach, minutes from Hampton U & LAFB

This was by far one of the best stays/experiences we have had in a while. Property was very clean, hosts were GREAT. They have everything you could possibly need on vacation! Beds were also very comfy. Also, very kid friendly too (books, toys, etc). Can’t wait to book again!!

We had a very comfortable stay. The house was very well and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed for an easy stay. Beds were comfortable, house was clean and location wonderful for beach and bay walks. Owner was quickly responsive and all was good! A great house.

I absolutely loved the house, the layout, decor, the beautiful flowers, and it has so much lighting that came through. I felt like I was at home. The house was clean stocked with everything that you would need and most of all it was just a few blocks from the beach. Couldn’t ask for anything better I would gladly stay again.

The rental was wonderful! The location was perfect for days at the beach and a short drive to some great restaurants. Our group consisted of six, ages ranging from 20 to 80. We all loved the assortment of games (we had daily competitions - winner got to choose the next day’s restaurant) and the delicious snacks at our arrival. Amy was amazing to work with, and so thoughtful to let us know the lawn company was coming. We had such a lovely time!

We had a great stay (3 adults and 2 kids)! Super cute house and great location. The outdoor shower was a plus after a day at the beach. The location is to the beach and restaurants. The host was amazing and even left a snack basket which the kids loved! We would definitely stay there again!

Thoughtful and beautiful home. Everything you need is there. It is very much a home away from home.

My family of 4 (9 yo & 11 yo) enjoyed every moment of our vacation! All were amazing and we would definitely return. The house is amazing, I actually left a whole bag of stuff in my car because everything we needed was already here! We went to the air & space museum, beach, and Stuft. Great time in a great space.

I really appreciated all of the extra touches- we had everything we needed and more! My boys especially loved the snack basket. Everything was nicely labeled and organized. The house was very clean and well decorated. The beach is just 2 blocks away and easy to walk to.

The owners thought of everything! The house is very clean, updated throughout and decorated nicely with the beach theme. All of the drawers and cabinets are labeled with contents. There are a ton of games and books that renters can enjoy should the weather not be beachy. And if it is beachy weather, it's a quick 2 block walk to the adorable Buckroe Beach that was not in the least bit crowded for our stay in October (and we had beautiful sunny 75 degree weather). The owner was very quick to respond to any communication throughout the rental process and stay. I spend a lot of time reading reviews prior to selecting a rental and was very pleased to see that this adorable house exceeded expectations. Plenty of bath towels and beach towels are provided as well as hand soap, dish soap, and shampoo/conditioner. And I also loved the built in nightlight that was in the bunkbed room. Truly a wonderful beach weekend in a very clean and nicely updated home.

The Gray Pelican was the perfect VRBO for our family during our recent visit to Hampton, VA. Logistically, everything was clear and smooth. Then upon arriving, my family immediately fell in love with this beautiful home. The owners, Amy and Chris, take it seriously that they want their guests to have the best experience possible. First of all, they are wonderful individuals who communicate with kindness (they are also very quick to respond). They have been extremely thoughtful about the amenities of the Gray Pelican, and we felt right at home with everything we could possibly need, including many complimentary goodies. The house is incredibly clean and tastefully decorated. It is also in an excellent location, including being literally 1.5 blocks away from Buckroe Beach, which was also a treat! Thank you, Amy and Chris, for going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness. We would recommend The Gray Pelican in a heartbeat!

Nice clean place with easy check in/check out. Nice neighborhood close to the beach and fishing pier. Host was very accommodating to early check in. Would stay again next time I’m in the area.
