I am still waiting for security deposit after several contacts with the owner. Stayed at the house in September and it is now December! Still waiting- House was a bit creepy. It had strange viewpoint windows into bedrooms and shower. Needs clean furniture.
Location of this property could not be any better! Thankful the yard was fenced in for the safety of our dog. Very thankful to be able to share vacation with our dog. Walking to Main St and to beach was a huge plus! Spent a lot of time in backyard, however, bbq tools looked very old and rusty so we didn’t grill. Yard was overgrown and VERY close to neighbors. Love the charm of this old house, but not very clean. Lots of spider webs and musty smell on most furniture. Both bathrooms were tight, especially the 1/2 bath. Didn’t think outdoor shower was all that. Was told a repair man was coming to fix dryer as we driving down to the rental, and I was told it wouldn’t interrupt our stay. Repair man came earlier than expected and owner asked us to stay in the rental til he was gone. Only about 30 min, but not the very first thing I wanted to do after unpacking.
Fun place to stay. Enjoyed the outdoor patio and being close to town.
We really enjoyed our stay at this quirky & cute original fisherman’s house, right off of Falmouth’s Main Street! The location could not be beat, it is charming, and the space was good for me and my 3 teens. The kitchen was very functional and allowed us to gather & play games. We did use the pull out loveseat/ sleeper, which was a nice bonus, and we did try a bottle of wine that was there, but it was spoiled, so we didn’t replace it. It is so not cookie cutter and the upper 2 bedrooms took some getting used to (and my 6 ft son hit his head a few times) but the AC worked well and we each had our own space so it worked out. The outside shower needed some clean up to make it useable, and some of sheets could use some updating, but it was convenient to have the washer & dryer there (in the basement). The outside area was cute, especially the party lights, and the flower boxes on the house were beautiful. We enjoyed our walks to town, and the beach, and loved being close to the bike trail, and exploring most of the Cape & Martha’s Vineyard (check times/options & plan ahead so you can walk to the ferry or walk to the parking area). We were pleased with all of the places we ate in town, especially Pickle Jar kitchen, Ben & Bill’s chocolate emporium (so close! had to try the lobster ice cream but was good with just the sample) and even Simply Divine pizza (good soups & salads & pizza) Overall, a wonderful stop! Thank you Michael for your hospitality!
Lots of room. Inside and out. Strong pet presence! We’re dog people so no big deal
The best part of staying at this property is the location - 1/2 mile or 10-minute walk to the beach, a 1-minute walk to Main Street in Falmouth with all the restaurants, parks, and shopping. It is also easy to access the bike trail, where we walked/ran every day. We had a 20-minute walk to the ferry that took us to Martha's Vineyard. The house itself is as described - a historic property, more or less comfortable for us as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, plus our dog.) The ceilings, especially on the 2nd floor, are quite low. It was okay for our kids, but my husband (6 feet tall) had to crouch down. Luckily, there was the 3rd bedroom downstairs that worked well for us grown-ups. There could be more attention to detail regarding cleaning, especially around the corners, behind and under the sofas and beds, etc. Overall, a fun place to stay and location is fantastic!
Home has a great location and nice yard and patio space
Owner is withholding deposit for cracked tile in bathroom. We did not crack any tiles. In fact we spent hours cleaning when we arrived. Cat hair (we are allergic), tampon under bed, mold in air conditioner, refrigerator water dispenser and ice maker didn’t work. He charged extra cleaning for covid ready. That was a joke.
We were seeking a home that was big enough for our family and offered an ideal location for walking to the beach and biking around town. This home delivered. This was our first VRBO rental and we were a little nervous as to how it would work out. The host was very easy to communicate with, and the we found the home to be as described. The three bedrooms were perfect for my wife and I and our three nearly grown children. Each room had a window air conditioner which is helpful in heatwaves. The home was clean, which was especially concerning during Covid-19 times. The backyard was phenomenal in terms of space, privacy, ambient lighting, tiki torches to help with mosquitos, and everything you need for family and a few guests - grill, seating and tables. We loved the location, just a few minutes in one direction to down town restaurants and shops, and about a 10 minute walk in the other direction to the beach. During Covid, public parking was limited so we either walked, or drove to drop off out stuff, brought the car back, and biked back to the beach. The street is quiet, particularly at night. Overall a great experience. Thank you Michael.
We enjoyed our stay. The home is perfectly located between town and the beach. Great yard for a dog. We can’t wait to go back next year.
