Our stay was excellent. The house was very comfortable and well appointed. The list Shan gave us with recommended activities and restaurants was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend it for others. The pool was second to none. We also had nice views of the sunsets.

This property is beautiful! Everything from the lush plants/flowers, pool and view. The layout of the home is wonderful! The beds, pillows, linens are extremely comfortable. However, the property is surrounded by a large amount of Coqui (Hawaiian frogs). These little buddies are VERY loud and greatly disrupted my sleep so bring earplugs! Shannon is a very communicative host and we appreciated her timely response to our needs/questions& concerns. She had lots of suggestions /instructions for everything which was a bit overwhelming but appreciated. My family of 5 (2 adults/3 children) enjoyed our stay and made some great memories! Kids loved the pool and I would suggest reaching out to the host to upgrade the heating in advance. My suggestion to the host would be to provide an upgraded coffee machine (currently drip) and coffee.

A beautiful property! The grounds were lush with plants, a lemon tree and an avocado tree. The pool had a lovely view and the fire feature and waterfall added to the ambiance. The house was VERY clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you could need. The host had great communication, a very helpful list of recommendations, and detailed instructions for how to use things. It is a short drive to town.

This house is gorgeous! The view from the patio with the pool and the ocean is outstanding! The house is not missing anything and the grounds are wonderful. Shan is wonderful to work with and was always attentive to our needs and questions.

I can't tell you how much I loved this home. I was there for 14 days and it was just amazing. The view with the infinity pool, the decor was not Hawaiian cheesy, beds were so comfortable and it has absolutely everything you could want. Communication with the host was great. She answered all my questions within minutes. I felt like I was living in Hawaiian luxury. Sooo much better than a hotel. Would go again in a minute.

We stayed at this lovely VRBO with another couple, and it was just as beautiful as the description said it was. The house had Hawaiian decor throughout which made it feel definitely like a home in Hawaii. There was everything we needed and more in the kitchen and bathrooms. The best part was the backyard. The pool and view were amazing and we loved the waterfall and especially the volcano!Unfortunately, we arrived just as the Kona Storm hit, and it rained constantly from the minute we got off the plane to the day before we left. That being said, our host, Shan, couldn’t have been more helpful. She checked in with us every day, letting us know current updates, places that were open, and things to do in the rain. Because of this, we were able to just relax and go with the flow. It turned out to be a great experience and we definitely plan to return to this house!!

The house was everything we had expected and when we visit the Big Island again we will decently look to stay here.

Very nice house, perfect for a family of 5 adults. Everyone had their own space and bathroom for each bedroom. The pool and view was excellent, such pretty landscaping. Kitchen was fully stocked with kitchenware to make meals at the house. Grill was also nice to have!The location is about a 10-15 min drive to town.

This place is fantastic! Our kids (11 and 13) loved the pool and we all loved the amazing view. A great location and very comfortable!

What a beautiful property! From the nighttime arrival to our departure we enjoyed every moment of our stay!Fantastic large kitchen with room for everyone to make some great meals with quality appliances. The layout of the home lends itself to easy access to the pool and outdoor living area from the 2 primary suites and the large indoor outdoor living area. The third bedroom is only a few steps away.We are searching for property on the big island and looked at 12 different homes up to a sale price of 4.8 M. None of those properties had what Collessie by The Sea provided us! The layout and indoor out door living by the pool was unparalleled in our search; making it hard to find something we loved as much at this VRBO!

Host was very helpful. Sent lots of information about the house and the island and was available throughout our stay via text if we had any questions. The instructions in the house on how to use the various amenities was very helpful as well.

This host has truly provided a wonderful place to call a “home away from home.” She’s made it so easy and convenient to visit a fly-to destination. Items we needed to enjoy the beach, cook our meals, and so much more were provided and easy to find — not just the essentials, but thoughtful extras that made our trip even more enjoyable. “How-to” instructions are provided for everything.The home itself is stunning. The pool and deck area, along with the view in the background, just puts a smile on your face every time you walk through the door and see it. You can tell this home is cared for with intention and pride. We felt comfortable, relaxed, and completely at home from the moment we arrived. I’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-appointed getaway in Kona.

Wonderful property, the infinity pool and view are spectacular. The property manager went above and beyond to give us a great stay. The location is great, about 3 miles from downtown where there are lots of restaurants, but in a very quiet and serene spot. There are several beautiful beaches within a 10-20 minute drive. We would stay here again for sure!

This house was perfect!!! We loved the pool, waterfall and volcano. Outdoor space was great, it was nice to come home from the beaches or sightseeing and take a dip in the pool. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were comfortable. Our host had great recommendations and was quick to answer any questions. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! We were glad it was on higher ground as we were there for the tsunami warning! Thankfully nothingvreally happened.

This stunning pool home - shaded with a kaleidoscope of tropical foliage and boasting an infinity pool - sparkles like a magazine feature, but exudes the warmth of a loving place to create precious family memories. Seriously - this property took our breath away! However more importantly, the owner Shannon, could not be kinder or more helpful! From a long and winding list of fabulous suggestions to helping us problem solve a travel delay nightmare with her generosity, Shannon represents true Aloha spirit! Her home boasts a chef’s kitchen, space to gather and spread out, a perfect location (we could make day trips out of everything on our site seeing list) comfortable beds and a sunset ocean view that could challenge the most coveted painting! Our oldest daughter landed a role in the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and spent 3 weeks rehearsing for a musical. We joined her from Florida during her last week, and this home created a lovely home base for us to explore the amazing Big Island while supporting our daughter’s dreams. The property and host were both wonderful. Every need was thought of to make a relaxing vacation. The private infinity pool was great. We heated the pool for a few extra degrees to make it even better. This was the best vacation rental we ever had. The home had all the little things that made it very enjoyable

The house was beautiful and very accommodating! It was well stocked and supplied for all of our needs. The grounds and yard were so well taken care of and lovely! We greatly enjoyed sitting in the pool gazing at the ocean and admiring all the beauty!! It was close to town and many attractions! The only comment was that the shower head in the primary bedroom was hard to manage and sprayed water in many directions making it hard to shower. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!

We have stayed at many houses in the Islands over the years and we consider this one to be the best! The setting is ideal with expansive ocean views and beautiful landscaping. Kona is around 10-15 minutes away so there are lots of places to eat within easy reach. The house is well equipped, everything has instructions and the owner is available anytime to help if needed. This was an important anniversary for us and we were looking for seclusion which this property certainly provides!

The layout of the house and gardens is great. Lovely pool, putting green and badminton area plus a picturesque garden and drive way. Comfortable bedrooms and large living area and kitchen. Very well equippedHost is excellent. Regular and clear communication. We had a major storm and power outage while we were there but the house had the necessary flashlights, candles and barbecue to make do.

This is a fabulous home managed by a fabulous owner. It is apparent from the moment you book Collessie By The Sea that Shannon will do almost anything to help make your stay as easy and as enjoyable as possible. From an extensive list of things to do, restaurants to consider, excursions to take, and little nuances of the town and getting around, her advance planning list of ideas and suggestions was like having our own personal concierge. But the real gem is the house. Located in a beautiful upscale neighborhood, it is modern, immaculate, exceeding well equipped. Everything (and I mean everything) is labeled with clear directions, pictures and even QR codes for how to operate the various features. The setting, overlooking the the Kona coast has an unobstruceted and expansive view of the Pacific Ocean. Expect to be treated nightly to jaw-dropping sunsets as you enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the infinity pool. Finally, and most impressively, was the level of communication with Shannon before, during and after our stay. She made sure we were doing well, enjoying ourselves and helping solve any problems or questions that arose during our stay. Always available 24/7 by text or phone, she is without question, one of the best owners / managers we have ever worked with. Mahalo Nui Loa for a magical Hawaiian holiday!
