It's located between East and West Glacier cabin is 1282 sq ft. Essex town has a very small community. You Can Hear The TRAINS passing by and watch them from the fire pit. Please don't not book if you are a light sleeper. There are some hiking trails to the Great Bear Wilderness and also Glacier National Park. We do have a combination of hiking trail, cross country skiing and snowshoeing maps both in Glacier also near house for your planning. If you need any help please message me. I love hiking.
The Walton Ranger Station which is an entrance to the Glacier Park for day hikes and back country trips is 7 minute drive from the house. Stanton lake trailhead (in the wilderness) which is one of my favorites is 5 minute drive. Stanton creek which you can drive to is a nice area for a picnic too.
The house has Starlink fast internet. It has smart TV no satellite and DVD player(of course some DVDs too). Two bedrooms have queen beds and the master bedroom has king bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, coffee maker, dishes and cookware.
The property features exterior security cameras. They don't look into interior spaces. The cameras record video when activated by motion.
It has a BBQ Grill on the porch. After enjoying your visit to the park make sure you enjoy the fire pit too, which is located in the back of the house ( firewood on us). It is close to train tracks. Please expect that you are gonna hear trains during your stay. You can watch the trains pass by too. We are train lovers.
The bathroom has a small washer and dryer.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

The cabin had good space in the kitchen, bath and other common areas plus the bedrooms. Livingroom was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Laundry area and deep tub in bathroom were a bonus! Would definitely stay again!

Great little cabin in between west and East glacier. Since the east side of the park is closed it was easy to go hike and avoid the crowds. Had everything we needed, including WiFi since there is no service. As others mentioned the train is pretty close to the house but my 2 year old absolutely loved it so it made up for any disruptions!

This was very cozy and an excellent vacation stay. The trains were barely noticeable to us. We had hiked from Walton Ranger station. There are also plenty of hikes in the National forest. The kitchen had all the essentials, but no dishwasher.

Very clean and comfortable with many fun amenities. Owner was very quick to respond to questions. Great location about halfway between east and west entrances to Glacier.

This cabin was wonderful- it not only had everything our family of 5 needed and wanted, it was also very central to everything we had planned to do in Glacier National Park. The Host was super responsive and has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and worry-free! We would stay again for sure!

This is our favorite cabin of all time! We are a family of back country and cross country skiers and this base camp is ideal for its warmth, location to all of our favorite spots and the amazing hospitality! I don’t want to share too much and keep this gem our sweet special treat!!!

Great place to stay for access to both sides of the park. The host was responsive and the cabin had everywhere we needed. There were a lot of trains passing by but we slept fine.

This was our first time in Montana, and we were celebrating my 35th Birthday. The cabin was cozy, clean, and rustic with modern day amenities such as Wi-Fi. It was a little out of town which was nice for us, but not too far out of town that we felt secluded. There are neighboring cabins on either side and across the road. We enjoyed grilling out and eating out on the back porch. The train tracks are right behind the house, so if you are a light sleeper, they might disturb you. We thought it was pretty cool to see them coming and going though. The cabin was about a 20 minute drive to Glacier National Park. There were also a lot of hikes nearby, but we only hiked within the park. The host put a lot of info regarding hikes, places to eat, nearby stores, etc. Also, fantastic communication with any questions! We would love to stay here again when we return for another trip!

We faced a few issues with this property with a broken toilet and broken shower dispensers. As there was only one bathroom in the property, the broken toilet caused a major inconvenience. Furthermore, while the owner seemed open to help, she stopped answering our calls after the first time we called her. She would only answer when we called from a new phone number. While a person was sent for maintenance, they did not fix the issue and left us dry shortly after. The next day, we were woken up by broken shower dispensers that had fallen into the bathroom tub further causing a mess. The property was well decorated and had great amenities, but the quality greatly suffered.

We had a wonderful stay in this cabin with our family of five on our first trip to Glacier National Park. The cabin was really even better than pictured- very clean and comfortable. The only downside for us was the lack of a/c and we happened to be visiting on 90+ degree days, but every room had a high-end fan that cooled things down quickly when we got home. Our teens loved the back patio and the axe throwing game the hosts left out for us. We loved being able to get to the east side of Glacier, including Many Glacier, more easily than if we stayed in West Glacier, particularly since the eastern St. Mary's entrance doesn't require a vehicle reservation. All in all I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the Glacier area!

Very convenient to Glacier; very well stocked cabin, and a great visitor guest information binder. We liked that there weren’t a lot of “exiting” clean up rules.

Very clean, fully stocked. Beds were cozy. We were aware of the train. We did not realize it was every 30-45 mins night & day. Road traffic was also loud, but they did offer ear plugs. Other than lack of sleep, the stay was great. We really enjoyed the deck, grill, awesome dishes & games. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We liked the access to both sides of the park. There is highway noise and train noise, but we didn't mind, and the kids enjoyed watching the trains go by and did not hurt our sleep.
