Loved the SW ambiance and adobe architecture. Very well equipped for guests. A little cool without the fireplace heat. Well stocked with wood and starter sticks near the fireplace. Owner was very helpful and resourceful with establishments nearby, restaurants, lodging etc. More rock & courtyard landscaping would be nice. Winter, so a little muddy. A hair dryer would also help. Overall a very lovely stay for two couples. Thank you
Great location to get to ski slope along with access to town. Stay was comfortable and very homey. We will be back.
We loved the home and it's surroundings! It was well-stocked and very quiet, with a lovely Courtyard. Despite the heat, the house stayed pleasantly cool.
Loved the home, very clean, beautiful architecture, nice sunsets. Not too far from town. We were concerned about no AC but while high's were around 90F the house didn't get above 77F during the day and it cooled down quickly at night. Overall enjoyed our stay. I'd book closer to town next time and make sure it's on a paved street - the bumpy ride in/out, only a few min, but it wasn't fun.
The place is really out there, and you will achieve that feeling of just getting away from it all. Just sitting out in the courtyard and looking up at the night sky is intoxicating. During the say, you'll see nothing but the few homes surrounding you far off and then the beautiful mountains just north/east of you. The house itself is a gem, both architecturally and just how it is outfitted for a visiting family. It has anything you may need during your stay to prepare meals and cookies. It has 2 decent bathrooms and the rooms are cozy with plenty of linens. In the early summer we were there (early June) it was a steady and comfortable 67-68 degrees in the house which has no AC. Just crack open a couple of windows a little, and you're good to go. The main town of Taos is just a 15 drive down the mini-mesa this neighborhood is on. There is some construction going on in the main town so be a little patient once you get down there. Cid's is a good grocery option. You will have plenty of options for Mexican food. We went to Guadalajara's 3 times due to good choices, counter service with no wait. La Cueva is a nice sit down style place and I hear great things about Orlando's. There are a few nice hikes about 20 minutes away as well as the Rio Grande bridge.
I met old friends for a girls' trip and we absolutely loved the house! The wood burning stove was perfect for heating the home and we enjoyed its charming decor and the beautiful views. Absolutely recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!
The house was great. The temperature in the house remained in the low 70’s whether the temp was in the 80’s or the 50’s outside. The house was well stocked, and comfortable. The views wonderful, and secluded. Great stargazing once you got away from the front porch light and in the driveway. Sun rises and sun sets were also amazing.
We lucked into the Labor Day Artists' Open Studio Tour. If you're ever in Taos over Labor Day weekend, I highly recommend this opportunity to visit the many artists who call Taos home. And the sunflower explosion of 2022 was amazing! The house was perfect for this driving adventure with lots of space when we returned. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The best part of the house was the yard/patio where we sat and drank wine and watched the stars come out following gorgeous sunsets.
Great house! Perfect size for our family of 4. About a 15 minute drive from local shopping and dining. Excellent view of the mountains. We stayed during summer and the house kept cool even without AC. WiFi was a bit spotty but worked for our needs but something to keep in mind as our teenagers expressed their concerns. Dining table is a bit uncomfortable if sitting at for long periods of time like playing board games. Beds were comfortable and each room had a ceiling fan. Also, loved that each room had a standing floor fan. Kitchen had plenty of cooking essentials. If we go to Taos again we’ll definitely check to see if this house is available.
Adobe walls and brick floors give it authenticity. Such a cool feel
