Drop Anchor is a 2 bedroom spacious residential home on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert island.
You will be 5 minutes from Acadia National park. Bass Harbor headlight, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, and Seawall picnic area. Bar harbor is a 20 minute drive.
Nearby is Archies lobster pound, Hansen’s seaside takeout (both walkable) and by car Thurstons lobster pound. And Seafood ketch. There are many other options in the neighboring town of Southwest Harbor.

Stayed Sep 28, 2025This home was perfect! Beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out, outdoor spots, and complete with everything we needed! This location worked well for day tours and away from the chaos of Bar Harbor. We took all of Nicole’s advice for tours, shopping & where to get local lobster for home cooking-and out….fabulous!I do not have any recommendations for improvement- we hope to be back soon! Thanks so much Nicole, what a great trip!!

Stayed Sep 22, 2025The house is very spacious, comfortable, nicely appointed with care and away from the busyness of Bar Harbor and other communities. But there is great access into Acadia NP and around Mt Desert Island. Host Nicole communicates and responds promptly.

Stayed Aug 17, 2025Fabulous house! Extremely spacious, clean, comfortable and well decorated. Hostess very communicative and accommodating. Very large comfy porch to hang out on along with a fire pit in the back. Super seafood restaurant (Archie’s) on the water less than half a mile away. Terrific area for hiking enthusiasts.

The home was a nice size for our family of four. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park were a short driving distance away. We would highly recommend this home.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025My wife, daughter, our puppy and I had a wonderful visit at the Drop Anchor. The house is nicely furnished, very comfortable with room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was spotless and well stocked. While on the quiet side of MDI, South Harbor with its shops and restaurants is only minutes away. Nicole was very helpful and made the whole process easy and comfortable.

Stayed Jun 29, 2025The home was very clean, tastefully decorated and perfect for our family meeting spot. Large dining table for dinner or board games. Very comfortable living room. Bedrooms were comfortable and well sized. Location was perfect for us as we like to avoid the crowds yet still be near the main attractions of Acadia. Owner quickly responded to any questions we had.
