Downtown home 5BR & 7 Beds w/ Free Private Parking

This is an older home in a residential area on a one-way street, which you can easily navigate to points of interest! Away from the immediate bustle of downtown and no view of the Battery, BUT, still quite charming! It’s best to unload from parking spots and enter through the back door to the kitchen. Keypad was user friendly. Be ready for the typical steps of older homes, though! A little steep and lots of them! Our favorite thing was the long dining room table where we could gather to talk, as a family the first night! Comfortable seating for our 10 people. We had to pull up chairs to make that work in the “living room”, but that was fine. The host made it very welcoming with snacks, coffee, complimentary “rainbow row” water bottles and “rainbow row” umbrellas to borrow. There was nicely restored hard wood floors and the unique (actual) penny lacquered foyer floor! Charming bird/floral wallpaper in that same entrance with muted colored (calming) painted walls throughout the rest of this older home. Bedrooms with comfy mattresses, along with upper-end linens and nice fresh towels! The redone lighting was well thought out and sufficient! Closets a little small, but suitcases racks available, as well as dresser drawers. Terry cloth robes was an unexpected perk; especially if you had a bedroom w/o a bathroom attached. (only two didn’t) so no problem!Upper “Eagles’ Nest” bedroom is quite the climb—-but once there, a cool refuge w/ door shut and A/C on!

We stayed at this property during our daughter's wedding weekend in Charleston. The home was beautiful and fit our family of 8 very comfortably. It was close to all of our activities in downtown Charleston and the host was very easy to work with. The house is stocked with all of the essentials making for a very enjoyable stay. The parking spots behind the home were ideal as we had two vehicles during our stay. I would highly recommend this property for large groups staying in the Charleston area!

This house was well equipped from top to bottom! The appliances were clean and fully functional with complete sets of dishes, cutlery and cooking to accommodate our group!

We had a cousins weekend together! Everything was fabulous! The host provided snacks and drinks!! We had plenty of room for everyone and every bedroom was comfortable and appealing. This home has everything you need from parking, plentiful towels and toiletries, stocked kitchen, and even corn hole! So convenient to downtown or a quick trip across the bridge to Mt. Pleasant or Isle of Palm. Absolutely would stay here on our next trip! Thank you for your hospitality!

The house was well appointed, immaculate and welcoming in all ways! Bedrooms were plentiful for our group as were bathrooms which had all the amenities. Our host, Ted, was easy to communicate with and attentive to all questions that arose. Location was excellent as well and in a great downtown neighborhood good for walking everywhere.

Welcome included snacks, water, well stocked kitchen. No need to buy condiments, coffee and soda! All bedrooms were comfortable with nice linens. Bathrooms all have bath/shower combinations. Plenty of outdoor toys. We enjoyed the corn hole. Dining rooms seats 10.Location is good, a 10 minute walk to attractions. Good restaurant on the corner.

Travelled to Charleston for a family wedding. Perfect place for our family.

This charming home is well appointed, ideally located to explore downtown Charleston, and comfortable for a large group. The host creates a welcoming environment from the moment you enter the house. We celebrated my husband’s birthday with our grown children and couldn’t have selected better accommodations.

The house was clean, great location and easy access to downtown Charleston. We really appreciated the comfy beds and all of the little extras. The snacks, bottled water and treats were a big hit. The multiple umbrellas to use were invaluable during our rainy stay. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Charleston!

Ted & Erin were great hosts! From accommodating our early check-in request to the cute water bottles & snack gifts left for us, they truly thought of everything. There were an abundance of towels and everyone was talking about how comfortable the beds were. The location was great, just a short walk or uber ride from downtown. Ted & Erin couldn’t have been better hosts! The home is amazing and the location was fantastic. This part is relatively easy if you do enough searching, but the hospitality and attention to detail was over the top! Everything was set up to be welcoming and they had stocked the home with plenty of supplies and treats. If you need a place to stay in Charleston, this is your best bet!

For our son's wedding, we wanted space for our close family, to sleep and to be together, and we wanted to be close to the downtown wedding venue. This house was perfect! The owners thought of everything. They were so considerate. The house was beautiful and fun. And we could walk almost anywhere we needed to go.

We had a wonderful time! Enjoyed the snacks, the holiday decor and the endless towels! Location was perfect.

We were here for a Family wedding with 12 of our family. The place was absolutely wonderful. The 4 boys stayed in the 3rd floor bedroom. The four couples each had their own bedroom with bathrooms. The location was excellent close to everything and quiet at night. Great parking behind the house. There were nice welcome gifts and things to eat. You will not be able to find a nicer place for a group. Our host was great and very helpful!!

Great house Great hosts Great location Enough room to accommodate our group of 8. Once we arrived, we walked everywhere. About 10 mins to King St with amazing shops & restaurants. We would stay here again.

Just WOW!!! The Penny Palace was the perfect home away from home during our Charleston trip to celebrate our son's and his beautiful bride's wedding. The location and its proximity to Charleston sites was key! Check-in/out was easy, the home was just gorgeous and fully equipped with whatever you might need, but what stood out to our family was Ted & Erin's thoughtfulness in the treats, drinks, quick responsiveness, welcome gifts, detailed effort to make our stay great!! Perfect house, wonderful hosts - you couldn't ask for more!! Hands down one of the best, if not the BEST we've stayed at. Thank you Ted and Erin!!!
