First time in Buxton and we picked the perfect place. Family of 5 and we weren't on top of each other at all. The den was a big bonus for a space for teenagers to hang. Close walk to the beach. If you wanted to walk it’s close to shopping/restaurants. The neighbors are super nice and there is a turtle pond right down the street that was so cool. Perfect location and space to enjoy a quiet get away. The decks were great to enjoy the nights.

We loved how close it was to the beach and the lighthouse, and we enjoyed the living room/kitchen space in the evenings. But the house is clearly neglected by the company. The DVD player was broken. The blinds in the children's bunk room are absolutely wrecked. We saw several dead or dying roaches. And the carpets were covered in dog hair - as if no one had vacuumed them in a year. In fact, when I told this to the staffer at the realty office when we checked out, she said Yeah, it's about the time of year for a deep clean (effectively admitting that the houses are barely cleaned during the summer months). I pointed out to her that just weekly vacuuming would remove the dog hair.

The home was absolutely disgusting and when we arrived. I’m not one to ever leave a bad review or complain but when you’re paying what we did then you have certain expectations. The floor was nasty so we’re the counters. There was chunks of dust all of the walls. The sheets on the bed were filthy. And the bugs and the spiders that were constantly in the house was horrible. We spent most of the first day there cleaning and washing everyone’s sheets. You can tell that the bare minimum is done here. The house needs to be deep cleaned for a week.

I thought the house had a great layout, was in a quiet part of town, great walkability to food and beach access both, etc. having a view of the lighthouse is also fantastic, especially in the evenings. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed ready to go upon arrival. I would’ve preferred a keyless entry lock on the main door but that’s not a dealbreaker by any means! This house is an absolute gem and I really loved using both decks in the early evenings. This house also allowing for pets was a great convenience for both me and my dog. Thank you Pirates Light!!!

The house is big and has potential to be great, however it was not well cleaned at all, dirty dishes in the cupboards, and many things were not working properly. the listing pictures and description are about a decade out of date, judging by the size of the front bushes, so the whole place is just not as nice as it looks online. no volleyball court. window screens all busted or missing. downstairs rugs smell of damp dog. friendly staff though.

The house is nice enough and quite big. But unfortunately it and everything in it is very dated. From furniture to kitchen equipment to games to really the whole interior of the house. Everything, even including the backyard, could use a major update. The downstairs is also quite smelly. When we arrived the house was not cleaned well, but that was immediately addressed when we reported this. Thank you for that. Location is fine with just a few minutes walk to the beach and downtown Buxton.

This house is just okay. The kitchen isn’t super well stocked - didn’t have a crock pot so we bought and left one behind for future vacationers. The house also needs a good deep clean, but bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The master bed was really comfortable so that was a plus. The location is a very short walk to the beach and being close to lighthouse road was nice for ORV.

I thought not having the beds made when we arrived was a bit of a problem. That was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Without a doubt this was the most disappointing house I’ve ever rented. The filth of this unit still leaves me in shock. Mold growing in every bathroom. Dirty dishes and utensils in the cabinets. Disgusting dust covering everything. No cable tv. No bunk beds. No lights in sunroom, for that matter, no air conditioning in that room either. No screens in windows. The most poorly equipped kitchen in any house I have rented. Most kitchen drawers were empty and what utensils and cookware available were in awful condition. The furnishing was shabby and not clean at all. The exterior property was shabby and unkept. To mask apparent odor in the home, old dirty air fresheners were left in each room. On our arrival there was a clogged toilet that my daughter had to clear. To say this was a disappointing vacation is an understatement. I had a few of my grandchildren with me and it was extremely stressful worrying about the filthy bathrooms and making sure they didn’t use any dishes without me washing them first. I took many photos of the deplorable condition of this rental. You, the property manager and the owner should be embarrassed and ashamed.
