Property as advertised. Was a good weekend getaway location out of San Francisco.
We wanted a place to get away for a very special occasion. This property ticked all the boxes upon reserving it online. When we arrived it was so much more in every way! Beautiful inside and out with a serenity that really takes you away from it all. The skylights and windows were the perfect balance of natural light and privacy. The layout was so interesting with multiple ways to explore this beautiful home. We brought a suitcase of just in case items, anything from a potato peeler to tape. We didn’t need a single item from that bag. The home had every amenity for cooking, cleaning, and creature comforts. Interesting decor and extras of things like linens. It was lovely in all ways! Thank you for having such care and consideration for your guests. We loved experiencing your beautiful, well loved home in the redwoods!
This home provided the cozy, forest retreat we needed for my partner's birthday weekend, and it was a paradise for our small dog. The yard and deck gave him ample space to play and explore - much more than we have at our own home! But rest assured, the space is also human-friendly too ;-) The house was very clean and comfortable, and we loved the original vintage kitchen features and wood paneling. The unit heats up quickly when the central heat is turned on. We had some questions about the unit when we arrived and Vacasa customer service was very responsive. I was able to talk to a live person after a short wait and they followed up with me throughout the day. I would definitely book through Vacasa again. Thank you for facilitating a lovely weekend!
Clean dog friendly cabin-ish home centrally located.
Being surrounded by redwoods.
There was nothing to Love - super smelly, funky, fireplace didn’t work, cobwebs up in the sky lights - gross , the house should be demolished
Wish I could say I enjoyed this place, but I really didn't. I've stayed in many VRBO places in Guerneville, Monte Rio, Forestville, and this was the worst. 1) There is NO fireplace. Period. The VRBO description highlights this feature with prominent photos and when coming in December was a KEY feature I wanted - but, the fireplace is non-functional. And, no one bothered to tell us in advance. We struggled for 30 minutes (following the on-site instructions), called management who THEN tells us - sorry the listing is wrong (??!!) 2) The carpets and couch are dirty and stained. Dogs have chewed on furniture. 3) Everything smells like wet dog - including all the living room furniture, which I covered with a clean sheet so I could sit down, and the master bedroom blanket from the closet which I wanted to put on my bed. Yuck. 4) House is just off main road, so lots of road noise The one good thing about the property was that the cleaning company who takes care of the property provided a very clean kitchen and bathroom and lots of linens to use.
This home was very comfortable. I liked all the different spaces inside and out. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, so you can bring all your own food to prep. The skylights and porch were beautiful for seeing the trees. The one feedback I have is to fix the fireplace and replace the batteries in the remotes. Thank you!
Once we navigated the tough door lock we had a great time. Really perfectly located cabin with close proximity to downtown. Now that I know how to open the door, we'll be back!
The place was cute, location convenient. Disappointing that someone showed up as we were checking out before the check out time scheduled. Felt rushed to get out the door. I understand this is a business more than a private ownership and it definitely felt that way. The text messages the moment we arrived to give a rating of the place felt intrusive of our stay.
We enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that could have improved the experience. When we arrived, the carpet was damp and there was a musty/wet dog smell throughout the whole house. Just know that “dog friendly” means that there is a significant presence of dogs, even if you don’t bring your own. The listing said there was a river view, but you couldn’t see it anywhere from the house (or access the river in that neighborhood from what we could tell). It would also be helpful to point out in the listing that although there are three separate “sleeping areas”, one of the spaces has no doors or covering of any kind. Even a simple sheet hanging by nails would provide some element of privacy. The grill and deck were great, but some of the patio furniture was too grimy to sit on without a towel or blanket. I think if you have dogs, this would be a great little place, but unfortunately for us, the price we paid didn’t match the quality of what we were expecting.
This amazing dog friendly home is true to its title. We just spent six days staying there. Aside from a few left over dog poos to clean up in the adjacent, and very dog friendly yard, the house was the perfect get-away. While it's not on the river, it's a short walk (5 minutes) down the redwood tree lined street to a very sweet, small, family friendly beach. The house is simple, albeit pretty dark since it's surrounded by redwoods, and the yard is pretty noisy from street traffic on Highway 116. The photos make it look a lot sunnier and brighter than it is. We couldn't figure out the fire place, but didn't really need it and it's well stocked with DVD's but we also couldn't figure out the DVD player. No worries, the Wifi was just fine to stream movies on our own computer. The beds were a little too soft for us - but overall, the place is ideal for dogs.
This place is great if you're like us, and love to take your pups on vacation. It is not a fancy house, but it is clean and perfectly suitable for a weekend away.
Comfortable older home surrounded by beautiful redwoods. Near the river, restaurants, and wineries. Very clean when we arrived. Would book again.
