The layout of the house

The layout of the house was great for us and the age of the house is not a problem. We love cottage charm. But when we first arrived there was sand all over the floors in every room. There was also dust on the hard surfaces that was noticeable on first glance. We tried to use the vacuum provided in the kitchen closet and it didn't work. We then swept the kitchen and family room area. There was dog hair along with the sand and other things we swept up from the floor. About an hour after my grand children had their baths their feet were dirty. I contacted VACASA and they sent someone out to mop the floor. Then we began noticing several things needing major attention...GFI in master bathroom needs replacing, therefore no plug to dry hair etc and with no mirrors in rooms made it a challenge. The same for downstairs. The tubs also drained at a snails pace which was awful. Lip prints and grease on dishes and glasses, we had to wash before using. No hose at spigot and the shower didn't work at all. Makes it difficult to keep sand under control. Ice maker broken, never made ice. Kitchen faucet loose. No grill brush to clean grill before and after use. We had VACASA send out a repair person for the shower and GFI plugs and he was not able to repair while we were there. We have rented in Fenwick for over 30 years and have never experienced such disfunction. We treat the houses we rent as if they are our own. Usually not letting anyone under 21 in the house with out showering outside.

The king bed was broken in half when we arrived and nobody came to do anything about it until the next day. When they did come, they had to leave due to an issue with another property and never fixed the bed. There were water balloon pieces left inside the house from the previous guests and the main shower head was a mist until the owners fixed it. However, the location was great and the property had potential!

First the good: great location, house was clean, linens/bedding provided, easy check in. A little rundown, but it's pet-friendly so hey that's ok.Now the bad: We arrived to find the master bed completely broken, with the frame literally cracked in half and sagging to the floor. The middle of the mattress was 12 lower than the ends, no joke. Took pics and messaged the property manager - Vacasa. Long story short, got the run around alllllll day - we're working on it. Had to drag the mattress onto the floor to sleep. Still no response in the morning, had to get Vrbo involved. That expedited things and a repairman showed up late morning. Nice guy, but didn't know how to fix a bed. Husband had to help. After an hour the bed is fixed, all good. Vrbo asked for a one-night refund on our behalf for the inconvenience. Still haven't heard anything from Vacasa about that, I'm not optimistic they will follow through.I understand that things break. But whoever cleaned the house prior to our stay made up a clearly broken bed and didn't say anything, I'm guessing hoping we wouldn't notice or care.Overall we had a good stay and don't mind a little DIY sometimes. But for the price I would have expected better service.

This fit our needs for a quick weekend trip. The home was reasonably priced and included all that we needed throughout our stay. The home is a bit outdated but it was clean and the check in process was very easy.

Beautiful house, great location. Garbage disposal didn't work which caused backed up water and awful smell at times. There were also no kitchen towels or pot holders for cooking. Other than these very small aspects, it was a beautiful location we hope to visit again. Thank you

We just had a lovely stay at this property for a spring getaway. The location is great, at the end of a quiet no-thru road, with minigolf, go-karts, a bakery, and a toyshop right around the corner. Quick walk to the beach with a crosswalk (you have to walk a couple blocks to get to a light if you prefer). The house itself could use a little TLC, leaky faucets and non-functioning stove/oven, but the property manager was very communicative and offered to send someone right away. Even so, for the price and considering we could bring the furry friends, it's a great rental and I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We were disappointed with the marketing information that we received about the property at 20 W. Maryland., Fenwick Island, DE. The advertising stated that there would be a table for eight. There were eight of us and there was no table for eight. It also stated there would be bicycles and boogie boards. When I reached out to the property manager about the bicycles and boogie boards, they stated that it was at the discretion of the owner. That’s great, however, it should not have been advertised that way. Also, the property was not clean! There was sand on the floor. That is expected, however, not until after we’ve been to the beach. Also, there was trash in the newly made beds and food, half eaten bagel, popcorn, under some of the beds. The only positives about this property were its location and the fact that we all had a bed to sleep in.

We usually rent condos in OC but the 15 year old family dog is too old for a kennel so we waited until dogs are allowed on the beach. Glad we did cause we would not have found this nice place on a dead end street. This place was a mix of old fashion and newish stuff. You could tell the owners were interested in making sure things were well kept. Nice that they allowed dogs. Beds were comfy. Couch was really nice. Older dining room table but very nice kitchen. Deck was really nice. Had our coffee on it every morning. Great time of year to come (first week of October). WiFi and Cable TV worked great. Played pac-man in the game room! Still can't beat it. Didn't use the Gas Grill but it appeared to be new and in great shape. 3 adults and a dog had more than enough room. 2 of my sons friends from college stopped down the last 2 nights and really loved the place. Will definitely come back here again!

My husband and I wanted a house for our vacation where we could bring our dog. This house was perfect! It is located at the end of the street so it is very quiet and nice for just hanging out on the porch or outside. It is right down the street from the Village Fenwick Shops so we had a great time taking a dog up there and letting her walk around. She got lots of pets from people also walking around there. We got food at Twilley Willeys and it was great. Just a great location and the house was nice and clean. I loved that you could enter in through the basement so it was easy to let my dog in and outside. Would definitely stay here again!

Property itself was fine, good location working AC. A tad bit dirty. However, management company and logistics was not well organized or helpful. For example, we paid extra for a late check-out, however, the door code automatically reset at the original check out time, locking us out and away from some of our things. Management was unresponsive and unhelpful. This upset us on our last day. Overall, ok spot, but do not let management take advantage of you or ignore requests for help.

Although the house is a little out dated, it was perfect for a quick weekend trip. It is spacious and just what you need for a big group. I would stay there again and the location is great! The walk to the beach is pretty quick and there’s so much around since it’s in the heart of Fenwick.

The place wasn't clean. It had dog hair and dust bunnies in the corner. The place wasn't left with one FULL toilet paper roll in each bathroom, and when I went to wash my hair, the conditioner was empty. As well, I had to go searching for a bar of soap. I called the property manager, and they had toilet paper delived - at 23h30 - 11:30 at night!!!

Tons of room and close to everything.

We had a family reunion and it was a perfect second house... plenty of space and beds for everyone.

Extremely well stocked. Quiet, central location. Almost everything you need within 2 blocks! Friendly service. Comfortable home. Everything in good condition.
