Dog-Friendly Dayton Home: 1 Mi to Downtown!

The home was a perfect place to stay while visiting my cousin who goes to Dayton University. It was close to the campus and the art district (yummy restaurants and cute bar scene). Street parking was easy. House comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed how the host decorated with local Dayton photos. We would stay here again if in the area.

We chose this place because it seemed perfect for us and our small dog—and in many ways, it was. The location is great, close to Cassano’s and Coco’s, and the unit itself is clean, well-equipped with WiFi, complimentary drinks, and basic cooking utensils.However, what ultimately prevented us from staying was a very strong and unpleasant smell inside the unit. It was overwhelming and lingered on our clothes, similar to mothballs. According to Evolve, this was due to annual pest (moth) maintenance, but the odor was simply too strong for us to tolerate—especially since I have asthma.We only stayed for one night and had to check out the same day because of this issue. It’s unfortunate because otherwise, the place would have been a great fit for us.We contacted Evolve, and while they were responsive and acknowledged the issue, we are still waiting for the refund despite being told that the owner agreed to process it. There was also another review mentioning the same smell concern, so this may be an ongoing issue.Overall, the unit itself is clean and in a good location, but the strong odor made it unlivable for us, and the delay in the refund has been disappointing.I will update this review once we receive the refund.

The house was great except for the smell! It was so strong. Everything I brought had to be washed when I got home!

The house is cute! It's also clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being so close to restaurants and having easy access to highways. The next time we are in town and in need of a VRBO, we will look here first!

What a wonderful place! Comfortable and warm. The host seemed to have thought of everything! Very quiet neighborhood. Would recommend!!

This property was amazing. It was well kept, homey and in a quiet area. Next time i plan to stay in Dayton again, I hope this place is available.

It was very pleasant and cosy.

This stay was good. The house is good and the neighborhood is quaint. The home is close to University of Dayton and it is down the street from Miami Valley hospital. The home is close to restaurants in fact there is a Biggy coffee shop within waking distance. The fenced yard provided a good space to let the dog go out without being on a leash. The one issue we had was with the TV and only having Roku and no access to local channels, not a big issue in the major scheme of things.

Perfect for our family of 3 and our 2 dogs. Were in town for a Baseball Tournament and we will be back
