The Space:

Make your next group getaway one to remember at this waterfront lodge on the banks of Hackett Creek. It's an incredible space for a reunion, a holiday, or a trip with multiple families, offering a private hot tub, a deck among the evergreens, and a converted garage rec room.

Natural wood and light are constants throughout the house, which is spread out across two levels. There are many spots to sit down and relax after aday spent hiking or skiing, including a sectional sofa warmed by an electric wood stove in the living room and plush couches in the dedicated media room. The gourmet kitchen is a natural gathering space as well, offering stainless steel appliances, two ovens, an island with a gas range and bar seats for three, and a window-lined dining area with both a circular table and an expansive farm table with views of the surrounding woods.

The outdoor spaces are equally special, including a deck that was built around the trunks of several towering fir trees. You can bring your meals outside to the deck or to the picnic tables at the creek's edge before capping the evening with a soak in the hot tub and stories around the firepit.

There's no shortage of entertainment in the converted garage rec room - an indoor/outdoor space where you can play Ping-Pong, foosball, cornhole, and basketball while projecting a favorite movie on the wall.

At night, you'll find one bedroom on the first floor and the other five bedrooms upstairs. The home has three main suites upstairs, with two private baths and one dual-access bath. Additional amenities include free WiFi throughout the house, two washers/dryers for your laundry needs, and a newly added treadmill to help you stick to your workout routine.

This charming house sits on nearly 12 acres in a quiet, park-like setting next to Hackett Creek. You'll be right at the edge of Mt. Hood National Forest and six miles west of the heart of Rhododendron. If you follow Mt. Hood Highway, you can easily reach the mountain's hiking trails and ski resorts, with Mt. Hood Skibowl 15 miles east, Timberline Lodge 21 miles east, and Mt. Hood Meadows 26 miles east.

It's such a fun and quirky home and we loved the character. It isn't too far from town either if you find you forget something. The back deck was great although an owl tried to swoop down and get my small dog so beware if you have small animals with you! Overall really nice stay.

First of all, let me say we had a great time and would recommend this place. The property is beautiful, the house is quirky-cool, we all agreed the beds were comfy, and the Sports Barn was so fun! We did have a few issues that put a damper on the spirit, but I'm sure they will be fixed before next time. Totally our bad, but we didn't think through that we would be staying during the hottest days of the year in a place with no air conditioning. They provided a TON of fans, but it was still super hot. Other things: the light was burnt out in one of the bedrooms (we swapped the bulb with the hall light), the gas oven made the whole kitchen stink of gas, the fridge in the kitchen was icing over and leaking, and the fridge in the laundry room got warm and spoiled all the food we had in there. The Sports Barn had a lot of fun equipment, but some of it was broken (deflated balls, crooked pool ques, duct-taped air hockey table). Again, all fixable stuff, and overall we had a wonderful time!

Great location for a mid-size family reunion! Lots of rooms, bathrooms, and activities for all our kids. Peaceful and secluded but close enough for activities. We would love to come back!

Base Camp is set in an idyllic location. Magnificent trees, close enough to shopping and Portland, as well as access to Mt Hood and outdoor activities. The house was large and comfortable for our large family of nine!

Basecamp was just what we were looking for. Large table that accommodated all for diner, great spaces in and out side, and a wonderful game room. We would come again. Beautiful setting and peaceful by the creek.

Really liked the home. Rooms were great. Well stocked! Enjoyed the eating and outdoor areas. The game room was really fun. Beautiful location in the forest with the creek. Had concerns that were addressed by Kevin of Vacasa.

Overall, the property was great and was exactly what we needed for the weekend getaway with a large group of friends. Ample places for people to sleep, dine, and entertain themselves all wrapped up in one property. My only knock on our stay was that some of the dishes and utensils were dirty upon arrival. Didn't ruin the experience by any means, just something that I noticed. The grill was also pretty dirty and gave it a solid scrub down. Otherwise, if you are looking for somewhere to have a solid staycation with friends or family around the Mt. Hood area. This property should be a good fit and has something for just about everyone.

A large group of us stayed here for a long weekend and it was fantastic! Everything from the amenities to the property to the large gorgeous dining room space was exquisite. The place was well stocked with linens and felt super clean. The heating situation felt a bit complicated but once everyone realized there were individual room heaters we were good. I would totally recommend this property to anyone looking for a good space to accommodate a larger group.

We loved everything about Basecamp. Comfy beds, 103 degree hot tub, serene location & cleanliness were all top notch. We had a hard time choosing between exploring the Mt. hood area and wanting to just hang out at Basecamp. Great for large groups with space for everyone to get a nature fix. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Our group loved spending time in the woods, close walk to Sandy River and other trails, using the amenities and eating together in the gorgeous dining sunroom area. Great experience!

We had a family get-together and we all fit nicely in this house. It was a lovely giant cabin - nothing fancy but really comfortable. The kitchen and dining area was where we all spent the most time and it fit us all very nicely. Another favorite area was the deck and fire pit. The location of the house was great for hiking and was not far from a nice grocery store and a few restaurants. The only thing that was a little off was that the first floor bedroom (that slept 5) didn't really have a bathroom. There was a full bath on the first floor but it was quite far from the bedroom.

The property was amazing; felt like you were in the woods and wilderness, but close enough to do all the tourist attractions. The home was big enough for 13 of us to stay comfortably. The game room was a fun spot to hang out. The hot tub was clean. We were all able to sit and eat dinner together at the table. The firepit by the river was a fun place to gather and chat. Communication with property manager was prompt. This house was perfect and I'd recommend it!!

We had such a good time at this lovely character-filled cabin. The kitchen is well-appointed with a large table. The patio has another large table, BBQ, and hot tub under a pavilion. The giant separate game room building was cozy and had something for everyone to do. Five stars and we highly recommend a stay!
