Dog-friendly, canal-front house with dock, balcony, deck, & central AC

The house was super comfy and clean, and it was the best-stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we’ve ever been to. Clean bathrooms. Loved soaking up the November sun on the deck. We really love this peaceful, quiet, and friendly neighborhood. The host is nearby and was so friendly and eager to help, though everything went so smoothly all week we didn’t need anything we didn’t have. 10/10 would stay here again. Thank you!

This house was very clean, equipped with everything we needed, and in the perfect location. The neighbors and the home owners were wonderful people to meet.

This was our first time staying in this house and really liked it. The house was very well stocked and clean. The beds were firm and very comfortable (this alone will be a reason for us to stay again). The biggest complaint has nothing to do with the house, but the rental agency in that check in time is at 5:00 which seems really late. The only other issue with the house is the very finicky door lock, it works but it takes more than a second to get it to work.

This is the 2nd time I have booked this home and will again. I love that it’s one level, with minimal stairs. The beds and all furniture are very comfortable and it has everything you need for cooking meals. Its location in a quiet, residential neighborhood with areas to bike are a major plus. The dock provided hours of fishing fun and it is pet friendly.

Wonderful property.

This is our second time staying and we love it. It’s a very comfortable cottage with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. It is in a great neighborhood that is quiet and peaceful. Communication with owner is very good. Would recommend as a great value and a very comfortable place to stay. Hopefully we will be back soon.

The house was the cleanest house we have ever rented on Hatteras Island. The house and furnishings were very comfortable and the house felt like a home, not a rental. The location of the property was perfect for riding bikes and Kayaking to the sound and other canals. In other words, it was a perfect vacation and a lot of that had to do with the accommodations and friendly neighbors! Thanks to the owner for allowing us to stay in your home and for being a great neighbor!

We've rented this home about 7 times and wouldn't rent any place else. After renting 6 other local homes, this is definitely our favorite. Once we found it we won't try another.

Travis the owner is AMAZING. Having him as our neighbor could not have been any better. This review however is for vacasa... The pictures were incorrect i have screen shots of them and the emails i got. The listing said outdoor recreation and stated i would receive a separate email to get discount rentals. WRONG!! After several calls and emails they claim they do not do this. Again i have screen shots of everything. Then to beat all they changed the pictures after i questioned about the kayaks in the pictures. All the fees they charge and the hassle DO NOT USE VACASA!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
