Destiny's Retreat - Destiny East Community, Private Pool, Under New Ownership!

Clean and a very easy process

Very misleading. Property was dirty and had a lot of issues. The refrigerator handles were about to fall off. My husband had to fix them. Parts were missing on the ice machine, broken bed upstairs that we were not using but were told we damaged it when it was that way when we got there but since we did not use it we did not notice it so we were responsible. carpenter ants (took two days before they treated them) they were in the master bed. Trash was left in the garage from previous occupants. kitchen utilities were worn out and not clean. Had to buy our own after we arrived. some kind of little somethings (looked like tiny shrimp) were alive in the pool and never addressed. It was sad that such a beautiful property had been so abused and neglected. Two of the TVs did not wrong (They came twice to repair them) The maintenance person told us the property was For Sale and that the owner was not doing anything to keep it up or fix things. So we were very disappointed that we were not told all of this before we reserved it an spent money.

Similar to the prior reviewers complaints, the layout of the house and aesthetics from a distance were nice. However as I looked closer after arriving I ended up being disappointed. Simple things like hand soap, garbage bags, beach towels were missing and not supplied. The pool had a huge area of duct tape over tiles because they were missing and sharp for little kids. The kitchen sink faucet head had black debris all over the rubber tips. They supplied bikes that were all rusted and had flat tires but there wasn’t a working air pump. The grill and stove fans were covered with grease and likely not cleaned for years. They ask you to take out the garbage but lock it up so you can’t. It can be a beautiful property but the lack of ongoing maintenance makes it something to be desired. I would look elsewhere if I came back to Destin.

I have 3 pages of broken items in the home! When calling to let agency know of several things only 2 were ever handled and when we had hundreds of black ants inside the master bedroom, I was told I could go to Walmart and buy bug spray! The home itself is a beautiful home in desperate need of some things fixed!

The place was very pretty, just was dirty and a bit rundown. We called housekeeping and Maint. on pool and hot tub because of metal spoons being in the hot tub and rocks and debri in the pool. No one ever showed.

The property was everything we were looking for and then some. The pictures really don’t do enough justice to how amazing the property actually looks. The neighborhood was in close proximity to EVERYTHING! I really don’t have any complaints other than the big trash bin in the garage being over full. Really not that big of a deal though! We can’t wait for our next trip back to Destin to book with them again!
