Stayed Jul 19, 2024This rental is absolutely amazing. The house is beautiful and clean! It has an everything you need to stay comfortably. It’s very easy to find and close to the military base if you are coming to visit someone there. I can’t say a single bad thing about this place, it’s just amazing. It’s very quiet, beds are super comfy, plenty of dishes for you to cook instead of eating out. It was just fantastic all around.

Stayed Apr 10, 2026Everything was exactly what we’d hoped for. It wasn’t a problem, but the house rules are not to park in the garage even though one of the listed amenities is garage parking.

Stayed Mar 26, 2026This was a very sweet space—especially clean for a pet-friendly location—and peaceful. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the fans over a hot weekend. We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked, but could use a few more dish towels and some updated pots and pans. Great proximity to the park entrance.

Stayed Jan 24, 2026Positives:Good location. Close to park. Good views all around. Very quiet which was great. Good size house with modern design. Washer and dryer worked well. Beds comfortable. Negatives: it is a bit tired looking. Only one door on one of closets. Lamp very wobbly in that room too. Knives and pots and pans not in great shape but useable. Sheets need replacing. Cleanliness: Surfaces looked clean but place needed a deeper clean, which we did upon arrival.

Stayed Jan 9, 2026Garrett was very welcoming and responsive to messages prior to and throughout our peaceful, comfortable stay at Desert Haze! The house is beautiful, we felt so at peace and all the amenities are a nice touch. We were able to enjoy some downtime relaxing with tv, music, the cool pacman arcade, and cooking our meals in the well stocked kitchen! It did get cold but the room space heaters and pellet stove kept us perfectly warm during our stay. Also, there is a propane fire pit outside to keep warm while stargazing. Our pup enjoyed running around in the fenced backyard. We loved our time here and only wish we would have had stayed longer! Next time :)

Stayed Jun 7, 2025This was a great place to stay for a visit to Joshua Tree National Park. It was very close to the park entrance as well as the town of Twentynine Palms, yet it was still a bit secluded. There was plenty of space in the house. We appreciated all the items available in the kitchen for cooking. We went into the park to see a sunset, but we probably would have been best suited just staying at the house - saw some great sunrises and sunsets. The house was very clean and nicely laid out. We enjoyed all the windows. The host responded very quickly to my inquires. And how can you beat having a classic Arcade game station. Good thing I just decided to play this on our last day - it was addicting.

Stayed Apr 5, 2025My sister & I were absolutely thrilled with this property as our home base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The location is exceptionally convenient to the park entrance as well as several excellent restaurants and grocery shopping. The kitchen included everything we needed. We slept soundly thanks to the quiet neighborhood and comfortable beds. The entire property was even more beautiful and clean than the photos indicate. Garrett was prompt with each communication, including offers to help (but nothing was needed- I’m serious, this place is perfect!) If we’re lucky enough to get back, we would definitely hope to stay again at DesertHaze. Thank you so much!

Stayed Dec 26, 2024This house had a fantastic location, very close to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, and a short drive into downtown Twentynine Palms. In addition to the convenience, we enjoyed the amenities, particularly the 80’s arcade system and the mini Super Nintendo. My 6-year-old got excited to watch my wife and I go head-to-head on the games of our youth, like Super Mario Kart and Street Fighter II. We also appreciated the listing being pet-friendly. The one heads up I would give is that the house does not have central heating, instead relying on a couple space heaters and a pellet stove (which was easy to operate, and stocked with plenty of pellets between the main bucket and an extra economy-sized bag in the garage). We stayed during the winter (December 2024), and found it a bit chilly at night, so pack accordingly. Overall, we had a great stay and would be interested in returning for future trips to JT.

Stayed Dec 29, 2024Beautiful house, nicely located for exploring Joshua Tree. Would have been helpful to have some info about the property in the house-we couldn’t get the heat or lamps to work and spent a cold first night until the owner told us how to reset the fuses the next day-and also about the neighborhood and suggested restaurants/bars/shopping. Otherwise we liked the property and would stay there again.

Stayed Dec 7, 2024My husband and I visit a national park every year to check off one on our bucket list. I found this gem within minutes of the park. The home is perfect for 2 people and exactly as the pictures and description portray. Close to restaurants and a good Stader Bros grocery since we mainly cook dinners. Garrett was easy to contact and the only suggestion I had to him was providing a laundry basket to corral the laundry. Definitely recommend!

Stayed Aug 11, 2024We were on a mission to see the Perseids meteor shower, and our mission was accomplished in style! We had a very enjoyable stay. The backyard is perfect for star-gazing but we didn't want to annoy any neighbors with our late-night visiting so we went to the Sky's the Limit Observatory just two miles up the road and ooohhhed and ahhhhed at the meteors into the wee hours of the morning to our heart's content. This was the perfect home-base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park during the day and watching stars at night. There are plenty of fast-food restaurants nearby and the local casino has the Oasis Cafe that we ordered food to-go from, which was delicious and reasonably priced! The home was clean and well-stocked with everything needed. It even has a Pac-Man and Galaga video game console for those of us who grew up in the 80s, which was useful during the heat of the day when we hunkered down indoors.
