Dataw Island Villa on Ocean Waterway with Dock, Kayak, Bikes, WIFI, 4 TVs, Grill

We stayed in this villa with five people. Overall, the community is beautiful, and for the price we paid, we felt it was a good value. There are plenty of activities to enjoy when the weather is nice, including biking, walking, tennis, golf, swimming, crabbing, and the beach is just a short distance away.One thing future guests should be aware of is the sleeping arrangement. While the villa is advertised as sleeping six, accommodations felt a bit tight for our group of five adults. The main suite is located on the first floor, but it does not have a king bed. The king bed is actually upstairs, along with a very small room containing a twin bed. The upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom, while the downstairs bathroom is located within the main suite, which can make access less convenient for other guests.If you’re planning a stay with a larger family or several adults, it’s worth considering the bedroom and bathroom layout before booking. That said, the beautiful community amenities and proximity to the beach made for an enjoyable stay.

This VRBO was in a beautiful, well maintained property! The villa was clean, quiet, safe, comfortable and well appointed! The hosts were very responsive! The view from the villa was beautiful! The walking paths were wonderful and the historical landmarks were very interesting. The restaurant was very good and they went above and beyond for a dislike from one of the people in our group. There is a very nice well maintained dock less than a 1 minute walk from the villa where someone in our group was very excited to catch and release a baby shark. We would stay in this villa again and would highly recommend!

The house was nice. The outside garbage can was missing. I contacted Heidi and she was on it. The can was there by the next day. The back deck is so peaceful in the morning. The view is beautiful.

Excellent location and marsh view. Amenities were prolific and readily available. The 3 man kyayk was too heavy for taking it in and out of the water at the dock. We enjoyed the wonderful pool. The much appreciated complimentary pass to Hunting Island stare park we used almost daily. With 4 adults drinking coffee we could have used a 12 cup coffee maker but I’m not complaining. The charcoal grill was a small table top variety and we had to utilize the oven for our party of 6-8 (with guests). The host was very responsive to my questions and allowed us a late check out on a Sunday.

We had a fantastic time!! The views are spectacular and the place was great!

Wonderful property!

The villa was very nice, clean, and well stocked. We enjoyed the water view.

We enjoyed our visit and enjoyed seeing a friend that still lives at Dataw. The view from the small back deck was pleasant and the sunrise was always a beautiful way to start the day and on the last morning I watched a pair of dolphin following the outgoing tide. The countertop “oven” was an odd contraption and not easy to figure out how to use it. We would have preferred the king bed downstairs and the shower water pressure is far superior upstairs then the trickle in the downstairs shower. Housekeeping could have stored the owners personal toiletries and a clean soap bar instead of the used soapbar which had hair on it.

We have stayed at the Villas many times in the last few years since we bought a lot there and are waiting to build. This one was one of the most equipped one we have been to. It was the first one we have been to that we didn’t have to run to the store for extra towels and toilet paper. One of the breakers went out and they responded right away to help us out. Other than the rain we had a very nice weekend. Thank you

The home, island, and setting are very nice. We learned that the owner is challenging to work with and misrepresented circumstances to manipulate her desired outcome unnecessarily. Despite this, we are thankful that it ultimately worked out; our son's wedding weekend was a dream come true.
