Wonderful house! Beautiful view and property, so fun to explore the little cove and peninsula. Saw an otter playing out on the beach. Great set-up for our trip with grandparents, parents, and two little kids (5 and 2).

It’s easy to talk about how beautiful this home is as well as how fantastic the location is. My wife and I have stayed here four times, and it truly is a beautiful setting. What gets lost is how fantastic the hosts Dave and Sue are. Communication is very easy, and both Dave and Sue are great to work and visit with. No matter how beautiful a place is, if the experience with the host is poor, more than likely you’re not coming back. There are multiple reasons that we keep booking this home, and Dave and Sue are a big part of that! We look forward to making our 5th reservation!

We had our annual girls weekend and the place was perfect! The view was absolutely beautiful and it was in walking distance of so many places! We walked to the Sculptures, Roche Harbor, did some hiking and had a wonderful time. We were able to eat in with the fantastic kitchen, play games, etc. The only thing I would recommend is maybe having an outdoor heater so we could hang out on the deck later! They had everything else you could think of from Kayaks, Paddle boards, Ping Pong, etc. The hosts had prompt communication and the place was just perfect!

Perfect in every way

The home was not well stocked and there was no organization in the kitchen

It was very easy and it was pet friendly I.had a tea cup pomeranian she loved it

We were an extended family with our dog. The home was perfect for birdwatching, walks, and we appreciated the boats and bikes.

Very well appointed. Clean. Couch and chairs were not comfortable (cushions and support worn out). Beds comfortable. couldn't figure out the TV. Kitchen had everything needed. Decorations were so perfect, Loved the letters outline where we put our corks.

What a beautiful and well-appointed home in a peaceful and lovely, private location. The beds were super comfortable. Towels fresh. We all 6 had plenty of hot water. The home was nice and clean, with simple and sensible check-out instructions. All of us agreed we would stay here again when we come back to SJI. We could not ask for more. Excellent for real!!

Beautifully appointed home with all the special touches from the sea themed dishes already set on the table to the expansive views from each room. Dave was great at always responding to our inquiries and very helpful in each communication. Our group of friends found the property so inviting and a touch of the PNW to stay in their hearts long after their experience at this magical place. Thank you for sharing your home with us. This was a fantastic home. Waterfront view with birds,Sea otters ect.. A wonderful location. Clean' well stocked and lots of toys like kayaks. ping pong ect. We had a wonderful stay.Thanks

The house was magnificent and very well appointed. Very spacious with bathroom for every bedroom. Lovely host family with great communication.

We had the best get away here! The house exceeded our expectations. We loved walking over to Roche Harbor for dinner and drinks. Perfect stay!

The home & site were perfect except there were not two bedrooms on the main floor as described. The en suite bathroom on the main floor opened directly into the living room, frequently surprising people dressing or showering. There were no trash bags in the kitchen, but a horribly smelly and filthy sponge in the kitchen sink. Except for about 18” of clothes-hanging space, the 1st floor bedroom closet was completely packed with extra bedding, high chair, baby toys and gear. The main floor bath and bedroom had no windows looking out at the view; one window looked at the cars in the driveway and the other looked at the neighbor’s windows about 30’ away. From the living room and upstairs bedrooms, the view was gorgeous.

Outstanding location for a quiet birthday celebration week. The home was perfect with nothing to want but more time! The dining table set up on arrival was totally welcoming and first class. Thanks for your hospitality!

Heron House is a beautiful, comfortable home. We love the location and had a wonderful week on the island.

This house is in such a perfect location to enjoy the West side of the island! It was clean, well appointed and had very comfortable beds! We hope to stay again!

Wonderful place

8 of us stayed for 4 nights and had a comfortable, wonderful time. I have been coming to Roche since the late 90’s and will definitely try to stay here again. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and beautiful, and we loved the location. My kids especially enjoyed the kayaks!

We loved our stay at this property. It was in a convenient location to all the attractions we visited. We had a rental car, but we did see the shuttle often so you could use that to get around. The house was comfortable and clean. The views were absolutely amazing and the neighborhood was quiet. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!

We stayed at this beautiful property for a week to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. Some friends came in on their sailboat and mowed out front and stayed on their boat overnight, but joined us during the day and it was a beautiful calm bay. we did some clamming Yum Yum. Each bedroom had its own bathroom but awkwardly there was no powder room off the living room? The view is beautiful, but if the trees grow up that are volunteering right off the deck to their mature size there will be very little view in the not so distant future. The owners were wonderful and communicative! I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful home with endless entertainment features. The kitchen is a cooks's dream come true and the bedrooms are well appointed, each with it own private bath.

My friends and I gathered for a reunion in April. We got really lucky with the weather, and took full advantage of the opportunities for kayaking, ping pong, walking, cooking, eating, etc. We've enjoyed a variety of rental homes over the years, but this location is a little more fabulous in every way. Highly recommended!

Great property with beach access, ample space for families with kids and a very well stocked kitchen for meal prep. The one upgrade that should be made for the price and quality of the house is improved bedding - some bedding was dirty and all the sheets and pillows need to be replaced. I would bring my own bedding next time.

Heron house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We had 3 generations staying together, plus a dog and it met everyone's needs. The table tennis was great for the teens, and the deck was perfect for soaking up some sun, reading a book and bird watching. The house was very clean and incredibly comfortable, offering a balance of adventure and relaxation. Would definitely recommend.

The house is just about perfect. If I had to give any criticism it would be that some of the bedrooms don't provide a blackout capability, so you basically wake up with the sun, but it doesn't stream in through those windows. We were able to launch the host's paddleboard and kayaks right from the house.

Beautiful house. There was actually three kayaks and we were able to go out on the bay three times, saw seals, jellyfish, comb jellies, fish, and lots of waterfowl. House also close walk to Roche Harbor and other trails. Rooms were great. Everything clean. Easy to reach hosts

This property has a lot to offer, especially for families or groups. We really enjoyed the large front yard and amazing waterfront backyard with its own small inlet. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but is walking distance to Roche and the Sculpture Park. We also really enjoyed that this home is dog friendly and close to the dog park. The only real drawback to this house was the living room furniture- it was very uncomfortable. The couch and the dining table chairs especially.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at the Heron House, and there’s multiple reasons for that:-The house is still clean and beautiful -The location is still awesome-Communication with the hosts is still fantastic-The neighborhood is still quietIt’s honestly a huge part of why we come back to San Juan Island. We refer to the Heron House as “our house” because it feels like home every time we check in. I can’t imagine staying somewhere else!

Great location and easy to get around the island. The view is amazing. Three out of the four beds were king size and one of them were full size. It was great having a large and clean space. I would love to stay here again in the future.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay for a week. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms well appointed. The kitchen counters are higher than standard, so tall people rejoice, but petite people may struggle to reach the upper cupboards. We loved touring the nearby sculpture garden as well as the historic sites and state and local parks.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Heron House after Christmas! Blessed with good weather, so we were able to explore many areas of the island. Highly recommend.

Spacious, with a great view, close to amenities. We really enjoyed being cozy and watching the storm on the bay and taking shot walk when there was a sun break. Would definitely bring family again.

We had a wonderful time clamming, paddling, and exploring. The point served as an island for the kids' to adventure to at high tide. It was everything we needed! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful home, well appointed, amazing location with killer views! All bedrooms & baths were nicely decorated & home absolutely clean! The only comment I have would be to purchase new bed pillows. The ones there were flat & the duvet pillows lumpy. Overall a spectacular property! . lump

The Roche Harbor Waterfront Home was everything and more. With the large space and beautiful views from every room, we couldn't ask for a better place for an early fall vacation. The recreational equipment that was provided by the owners had our kids playing for hours and the short walk to Roche Harbor meant many walks for a bowl of ice cream. Great that we could enjoy all of this with our dog as well. This was our second visit to the home, and definitely won't be our last.

Property and amenities were all top notch. Owner was prompt with communications. We enjoyed quiet days viewing Westcott Bay and its wildlife, and taking drives and short hikes near Roche Harbor and all over the island. We are a group of five active seniors. The large great room provided space for a variety of activities and shared meals. Four bedrooms with three baths gave lots of private space as well. We didn't use the kayaks and bicycles, but those are nice options to have.

This house is perfect for families. It is spacious, well kept and the kayaks, bikes and ping pong were great amenities. The location is perfect - walking distance to Roche, which made it easy for us to do things separately as well as together without getting in the car. The car charger, albeit slow, was a great surprise. I never needed to use gas on the island in my hybrid. All in all a great stay!!

Overall, beautiful home! Nice to have the water toys. All the kids, big and small, were on the water connecting (they live in different areas now). The weather was a nice break from the Houston summer! Beautiful views of the mountains and water! The whale watching was fantastic! The Roche Are was so cute. Coffee, boats galore, and several eateries. Friday Harbor had nice shopping, The Whale Museum, and also nice coffee places. Next time…we are going to take the sail plane ✈️.
