Bar Harbor, Maine
This lovely heated log home is located on ten wooded acres, with a running brook, and a pond. A family of beavers can frequently be spotted in the pond at sundown. The large wrap-around deck is wonderful for sunning, reading, outdoor dining or star-gazing.
Harper's Acadia Lodge is extremely well and lovingly maintained by owners who pride themselves on this cabin.
An Induction stove with traditional, convection and air fryer oven settings. A new LG Laundry Tower (Red).
The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen sized beds and one with twin beds. All linens are furnished. There are two full bathrooms, the second floor bathroom features a red Japanese soaking tub with shower.
A great location, a great cabin, very clean and cozy.
I was immediately reminded of the log homes I built as a kid with my Lincoln Logs. It couldn't have been any more comfortable and cozy. A perfect getaway! The owner was very helpful and prepared us well for our stay. We look forward to coming back soon. Cheers!
We stayed at the Harper Cabin for a long weekend. This was a great house. It was clean, with detailed instructions and recommendations about the house and surrounding area. The location is perfect. Close enough to everything you want to see on MDI but far enough away from the crowds. The house is very private, with a nice pond and stream. The deck is very large and equipped with chairs, picnic table and a nice grill. The kitchen was very nicely stocked with cooking utensils and even had a number of spices available. It provided pretty much everything you would need to cook a good meal. I appreciated the bookshelf containing a number of books about the area and the kids were able to occupy themselves with a few of the board games available. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and found the house to be spacious, clean and equipped with just about everything you need. The host is very attentive as well, and you can tell she takes pride in the place. I would highly recommend.
Beautiful property, expansive deck and plenty of space indoors to spread out. All the beds were quite comfortable. The kitchen, while small, had everything we needed to cook. It was a good base for us to get to Acadia. Bar Harbor was 15 min away so we could easily get to town and then have the quiet oasis back at the cabin.
Alice’s property was perfect for us. It was cozy and quiet and close to all the wonderful things that MDI has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!
This pond side cabin was perfect for our needs! It was less than 5 miles to Acadia National Park and it was quiet! The cabin was well stocked with everything we may have needed. The weather wasn’t the best so we were not able to take advantage of the large deck. I highly recommend Harper’s Cabin
The log cabin was equipped with everything you'd need and was a quiet oasis in the woods with a pond view. Only a short drive into Bar Harbor for evening activities and within 20-30 mins of every highlight of MDI you could imagine. The pack n play and booster seat worked great for our 1.5 year old. Fans were provided and used to cool off the house at night, which worked great. Would recommend staying here to anyone!
A great location, a great cabin, very clean and cozy
Just as described and depicted. We had a lovely and quiet stay. We cooked in and ate many delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen, enjoyed eating inside and out and slept blissfully in the bedroom.
Excellent! The property was just as listed! Clean, very roomy, very well furnished and well equipped with everything you might want to cook with and more. ..only missing the beavers :( We were 5 adults: my husband and I , and adult sons and daughter-in law. Close to everything, but private place to retreat to. When I emailed the owner with a question, she called me within 5 minutes! I would recommend rental from this house and this host without any reservations. Thank you for a wonderful week. PS- if you are looking for a fantastic day out - go to Schoodic Peninsula for the day, but BRING FOOD! Stop at the Rangers table at entrance to the Schoodic campground!!
Clean, cozy, and comfortable. Our family of 4 loved the cabin and had fun on the pond. Easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Communications with Alice were kind and timely. Highly recommend!
This property is great! The location is perfect; beautiful, close to everything, but away from the crowds. We definitely recommend.
The cabin was located in an ideal location to take in all the activities that Bar Harbor and Acadia has to offer. Highly recommend this property!!!!
Charming cabin with well stocked kitchen and beautiful scenery in a great location! The cabin is very inviting and comfortable. I would highly recommend this property and would love to stay there again.
Modern conveniences with a rustic vibe, very comfortable
Nice quite clean place. Can’t go wrong
Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was clean, quiet and beautiful. Very close driving to all attractions. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. Just simply wonderful. Thank you for allowing the Daer Family to use your wonderful Cabin.
Comfy house, well designed & furnished, great location and quiet too. Everything worked! Perfect base for our week of hiking & biking, exploring Acadia, eating well and hanging out. Could not have asked for better. Alice Harper gave us clear information & guidelines, very responsive to questions before we arrived and during our stay. So happy we chose this house from the ones listed on VRBO. Thanks!
We loved our stay at the property! It was a wonderful location, great for kids/families. Very clean and well stocked. Better in person than in photos even!
We had an amazing 5 night stay at the Harper's lovely cabin. When we arrived, the cabin was immaculately clean. It is clear the Harper's very much care for their cabin, and everything was in excellent condition. My boys, 5 and 7, loved everything about the cabin, especially kayaking on the property's private pond. We felt at peace at the cabin (which can be hard with two active, boisterous boys) and we wish we could have stayed forever. The house is surrounded by lovely trees and if you walk out to the pond at night, your view of thousands of stars is unobstructed. In addition to every kitchen gadget/tool you may need, the cabin had multiple Acadia guidebooks, magazines and maps. There is so much to do in Acadia. The signed guest book includes many suggestions from past travelers, but for those with young children, the boys' favorite trails were the Cadillac Cliffs trail (Gorham Mountain) and hiking up the Bubbles. I can't recommend the Harper's cabin enough. When we make our way back to Acadia to tackle the Beehive trail, we will absolutely make sure we stay at this cabin.
We had a very positive experience with the property. Everything was as described and photographed. The property has a casual, cabin comfort that was perfect for our relaxing stay. It was near enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia attractions but also had a nice sense of isolation / privacy.
