Tremont, Maine
Discover the quiet and Downeast charm found in the quaint village of Bernard, a small working village near Bass Harbor which is home to some of Mt. Desert Island's favorite destinations. Thurston's Lobster Pound and sweet little "Back Beach" are both within walking distance to this home, set off the main road, in a quiet semi-wooded setting at the end of a short lane with few neighboring properties. Small, recently updated, newly furnished for 2022, and ready for your visit, little Wicker Way Cottage is a great find for your Acadia adventure!

Very quiet location close to trails. Home has a perfect small kitchen table with nice natural light to enjoy a morning coffee, a good read, and to watch the deer walk by every morning on their way to work. Spacious living room, very big second floor, and nice size owners bedroom that also allows people to spread out a bit. The deck also gets a good amount of daylight. Finding and accessing the home was easy, Internet and smart TV were fast, and kitchen had nice pans and cooking utensils that made preparing a small Thanksgiving Dinner easy for our small family.
My wife and I wanted a Maine getaway with our dog that we could explore Acadia and Mt. Desert Island. We had a lovely time and the home was exactly what we needed.
Enjoyed the property and would come back again. Ran into a couple of small issues that ended up being remedied. This is a great place to stay if you're headed to Acadia
Very quiet private location. Host communication great concerning the incoming hurricane Lee. Fit our needs very well.
everything was as advertised....great spot, clean and ready to roll. would likely stay there again.
A quiet location and a great jumping off point for adventures in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (Udder Heaven and Mainely Meats were a great find!).
Very nice and cozy house with all the needed pots, pans, & gadgets! The owners have really thought of everything! So close to many Acadia attractions! Highly recommend this house! The only downside was that even with bug spray the mosquitos were so out of control that we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor area.
This location was clean and neat with everything we needed. The beds are comfy and the firepit was lovely for stargazing at night! We used the grill and deck for cooking and eating outside and although the yard isn't totally private, the neighbors are respectful of your privacy. Note that you are on the quietside of the island so you can easily visit Bass Harbor Lighthouse and there are spectacular hikes on this side of Acadia, but for the Loop Road and Cadillac Mountain, it's a 20 minute drive to get to the other side of the island. The quiet side is beautiful!
Shhh! This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful location to decompress. On the quiet side of the area, the owners have thought of pretty much everything you need to be able to relax, cook if you like and enjoy. The property from the street looks a little less exciting though the small porch overlooks the woods providing a sense of privacy. I highly recommend this place!
Great location for a quiet place to stay. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Alot of cooking pots and utensils which made meal prep easy. Local restaurants were close and very good. Communication with property manager was excellent.
The cabin was clean and cozy and very peaceful, and we were happy to be able to bring our dog. We were comfortable and had what we needed. The owner left a binder with some great suggestions of local places to eat, visit and hike and it's about 30 minutes to get to activities and trails on the other side. Some helpful things to note: the upstairs loft does not have a door, and the deck is south facing and gets very hot and sunny during the day without an umbrella or natural shade. Overall we had a great stay!
Perfect space for a small family that is looking to relax. They had everything we needed. The home was cozy and very clean. There is a cute town with shops and restaurants only about 10 min away. My kids loved the upstairs bedroom area! We had a great stay!
Check in was easy, the house was nice and clean and had everything we needed. Very peaceful area but not too far from all the things we wanted to do. We really enjoyed the fire pit outside!
We enjoyed our stay at Wicker Way Cottage! We took our two 2023 high school graduates on a road trip, stopping in the area to explore Acadia. It was nice having a home to relax in at the end of our hiking days. The space worked well for oir family of four. The driveway to the house is a bit tricky to find, but very clear directions were provided by the hosts.
My wife and I stayed at 14 Wicker Way with our two dogs and we loved this place. We got to explore the quiet side of the island and really enjoyed it. And you're just a short drive to Bar Harbor. The cottage is as advertised with everything we needed for our stay. We hope to stay here again when we visit next year.
We had a lovely, quiet stay in early May. No crowds on this quiet side of the island. The cottage was perfect for us and our dog. It was very clean and communication with Marla, the property manager was excellent. When we encountered a plumbing problem, she responded immediately. We would definitely stay here again!
This property had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was a great location with easy access to everything we wanted to do on Mount Desert island. It was very Clean, And communication with the manager was simple. We had a relaxing time here. It was quiet and easy to find. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice cozy property on the quiet side of the island while still close enough to the various activities.
We absolutely loved our quiet side cottage. Everything was extremely comfortable and very clean throughout. The fire pit was so nice in the evenings. The cottage is close to shopping, lots of hiking areas, Bass harbor light house, and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We will def be back!
The house was warm, cozy and clean, my cousin and I enjoyed it very much!
The property was very clean and neat when we arrived. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. Everything worked: kitchen appliances, shower, heating and a/c, and master bed very comfortable. Sunny front deck was great during the day. Walks on the quiet road down to the harbor were fun. If you have kids, the area is safe and neighbors are friendly. If they are the active type, and need more than books and board games, you should expect to take them on excursions like the nature boat ride, hikes in Acadia National Park, or to see places like Bar Harbor.
