Stayed Dec 27, 2021This adorable A-frame home served as the perfect get away on a few cold & dreary winter days. Two couples grilled up some nice steaks (a few handy spices were in the cupboard), played some board games (from the stash in the closet), watched movies on the big flatscreen tv and kept toasty by the fireplace. Firewood was supplied for the 1st night and we easily picked up some extra bundles of wood just down the road for $5. The homeowners were communicative and paid attention to all the necessary details. Just remember to bring your own towels and toiletries. We thoroughy enjoyed our stay! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has NOTHING to do with the cabin or the host. It was a logistical thing... We got lucky and arrived at 3:55pm, so we were 1st in line and check in at the office was relatively quick. But there was a long line out the door as we left and the receptionist was not the warm and fuzzy type that you would expect to be greeting vacationers. Additionally, renting a place in the Hideout community adds amenities fees to your stay and, at least in the winter, you don't get much of any amenities for those fees. There was no snow, and the lake was mostly drained. I suspect the summer months offer more to take advantage of, so just keep that in mind. Again, Nicole DID mention the amenities fees during the booking process, so there wasn't a problem with the host/property owner. And as long as you budget for it, I think this place is great!

Stayed Sep 17, 2021We rented for a wedding at the Hideout. This house is adorable ! We were 6 adults and fit comfortably. Bring your own towels we had to go buy some. Could use some updating but overall a great stay! Lots of leaves this time of year pretty but slippery!

Stayed May 28, 2021We were very happy with this cozy cabin on a chilly weekend. We had hoped the weather would be sunny and warm because much of May had been, but we were still able to explore the Hideout and surrounding areas. The beds were super comfy and the updated bathroom is very nice. Thank you!

Stayed Jul 2, 2021The owner was very responsive; the chalet is cozy and clean. My kids raved about the shower. It's not a large house and yet it was big enough to accommodate 8 of us. I only wish it had another half bathroom. But it was fine - we had a great time. We were able to grill and cook. The high-top table was great for playing board games. We went during July 4th weekend, so the resort was packed. But we were still able to get a golf tee time; indoor tennis court time; and rented paddle boats, stand-up board and canoes. There was a lot to do at the resort. It was also easy drive to a nearby little market place, as well as to CVS and a supermarket. We had a great time at this place.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Enjoyed our stay. The home needs some upgrades but owner explained they just purchased the property and are making them. Loft bed was a king and very comfortable. Perfect for the two of us. Owners were every helpful and quick to respond when we had questions.
