Our stay started with the key pad to enter not working. We eventually got lock box code and able to get in. Home had a basic cleaning but not overly clean with popcorn etc on floor from previous renter. Ant infestation and coach roaches, reported to owner, had been an issue in a May and July review, clearly not addressed. Local Mtc arrived with ant traps. Advertised to sleep 10 and we were party of 9, sleep sofa so damaged unable to use and 1 in our party ended up having to leave as no where to sleep after trying a few nights on a very old uncomfortable couch - also reported to owner with no response other then it would be addressed but wasn’t. Beds very uncomfortable and basement very damp. Had to buy air freshener to help with musty Molly smell. Also a boil water order posted on fridge that on day 2 we were able to confirm was rescinded but never removed from 3-4 weeks earlier. Ad indicated just over 3 miles to LL Bean outlet, actually just over 6. Kitchen very disorganized, I had to spend part Of one day organizing pots and pans as they were stacked half hazard and wasn’t functional when trying to cook. Bathroom sink in Main bathroom would not drain on day one (also previous note in a review in July) and we had to remove a huge hair clog ourselves by removing the plug and digging it out, photo provided to owner with no response. We will NOT return to this location, very disappointed when many of Our issues have been reported all summer and never addressed!
Our family has been staying at a different rental house in the North Conway area every summer for 22 years. This was one seemed fine upon arrival. Very quickly we started seeing ants all over the kitchen. The kitchen was extremely disorganized and missing essential tools. The sliding door was very hard to open. BUGS were ALL OVER the place. Then late one night we noticed large bugs running up the dishwasher and behind it. A family member knew they were German ROACHES. I did a quick google search it that’s exactly what they were. The house had a bad MOISTURE PROBLEM and nothing was ever quite dry. PLUMBING ISSUES: The main floor toilet would spit a significant amount of water out across the bathroom floor each time we flushed. Very unsanitary and disgusting to deal with. The main floor bathroom sink had a hard time draining. PRIVACY ISSUES: There was a vent between the laundry room and basement bathroom through which you could clearly see someone sitting on the toilet. There were similar vents between the main floor and the upstairs bedrooms where you could literally see straight down from a bedroom into the kitchen/living room and could hear everything. The trash barrel was full upon arrival. We were only provided with about 6 bath towels for a group of 10. We reached out to Vacasa (who is managing the property) regarding some of these issues and were told someone would call us back about the trash and someone would drop off 4 more towels- we never heard back. Stay away
This unit was very spacious for a few family members and a dog, the driveway was not very big couldn't fit more then two cars. The yard was nice a large but look out for bears!! (Definitely a pet friendly home, Make sure to watch your pet closely as they might mark thier territory)
Great. Beautiful location. We had a good time. Recommended
will be back.....
We loved this house! It’s conveniently close to North Conway and is a perfect place for a get away. It was very clean and equipped with everything we needed!
Clean, peaceful, spacious!
The whale rock lodge has been a nice vacation home for our group. The house is nice and adequately has all items to ensure you have a peaceful stay. The mobile network is pretty poor but the Wi-Fi works out to balance it out. The board games were good, and the house did have fans to enjoy summer
The house itself ended up being okay, but there were a few issues. When we arrived, the house smelled overwhelmingly of dogs, as if it hadn't been properly cleaned. There was a bad fruit fly infestation. There were also some pans that had been put away dirty. The booklet of information at the house is extremely outdated and created some confusion - for trash, the dehumidifier, and the downstairs shower (which it said not to use) specifically. Overall, we had an okay stay but we would not stay here again.
This was a good family home. Couch in living room not so comfy, beds and bathrooms all pretty good and kitchen very well outfitted for a family and cooking. Great location for sandy pond beaches, close to many recreation areas.
