Cozy Cabin on Elk Lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and in a quiet location not too far from Eau Claire.

This was our second year at this property, and we are already looking at dates for 2027. It is home away from home. Our host does a great job thinking of what might be needed by her guests, that there is little need for extra trips into town.Our group enjoys all the space, from individual bedrooms for a place to wind down at the end of the day to the open living/dining area with the fireplace. It is comfy and cozy, great for long chats, playing games, or introducing each other to our favorite shows with watch parties every day.Set in a quiet, scenic area, the view over the water is spectacular, great for sunrises and sunsets. The loudest thing we heard we the local turkeys passing through or the water fowl flying overhead. This place is everything we needed and more. We hope to make this an annual trip for years to come.

Our stay was perfect! The cabin was clean and had all we needed! We loved that there were lots of blankets to cuddle up with!!! Thanks for a great night!!

House was in a great location for our plans while in the area. Beds were comfortable. House was clean. Everything we needed was available. Living room furniture was comfortable. Communications with Michelle were excellent. Instructions for checkout were simple.

We had 3 adult couples stay at the cabin and we all enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the large central room with fireplace and having large bedrooms. Cabin was very clean and well stocked. Would stay there again.

From the moment we inquired about this property the communication has been prompt, clear and very accommodating. The property listing is accurate and worked well for our family of 9 adults. Kitchen is well equipped although a small space. While the cabin is older it is very quaint and extremely clean! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay celebrating Thanksgiving with family. The only downfall to our stay was we didn't stay for longer!

Great place for a girls weekend away! Plenty of room, lots of little thoughtful touches throughout the house and very welcoming host. I’m envious of the number of closets there are. Every room had extra bedding, blankets and pillows available. If we’re ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here again!

We rented this property because we had a family wedding in the area. We have 2 dogs and had to bring them with us. I was lucky to happen upon this beautiful house. I cant rave about it enough. There is a fenced in are for the dogs. There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone. Our son and daughter in law have 2 girls ( 2 and 3). They took the whole upstairs. They put the pack and plays in the HUGE closets. The girls loved it! The dogs (2 golden retrievers)were relaxed and comfy stretched out on the family room floor. The bedrooms were big. Michelle provides so many things. I wasnt expecting it all. If we are ever in the area again, we will be certain to stay here if its available! Thank you, Michelle!!

Plenty of space. We were there for work reasons and with size of home, we each had our space.

We couldn't have been happier with this cozy cabin! Check in was so easy and the cabin is so comfy and cozy. We felt so at home and had anything we needed.Great location to access the Chippewa River state bike trails and Eau Claire has such beautiful parks along that trail....and after enjoying that, it was great to go home to the cabin because that's how it felt. ...and we caught bluegills and perch off the pier in the evening...good size bluegills! We would recommend this stay!.

Beautiful property for our large group of youth to spend the weekend for a music festival. There was ample space for sleeping, hanging out, swimming, and having a fire. Clean and organized! Kitchen was small but well stocked, and we made do. Our hostess went above and beyond to accommodate any special requests for our large group. Thank you!

The property is beautiful. The home had plenty of space for all of us, including all of the bedrooms we needed, plus a dining table that comfortable fits 10. The yard is spacious and useful; we played soccer, football and frisbee and had a great time, and the fenced-in area was a blessing for our pups. Everything you could expect and beyond was provided; no unexpected shopping trips for us. Our only challenge was the steps down to the water; there are 75 of them (I counted), and they are steep. So, not so good for young children to go alone, or anyone with any difficulty with stairs. But once you make it, the dock area is very pretty, secluded, and you have the kayaks (and paddleboat) available. We fished from the dock, and caught and cleaned some panfish. All in all, a great setting for a quiet vacation, which was just what we were looking for.

Michelle was great - very responsive to questions. Property is well stocked with everything you need. The layout of the house is unique - the upstairs bedroom/suite was the nicest. We were there in July and the mosquitos were insane walking from the cabin down to the dock. We could not see the water from the cabin - the trees are too dense. Overall it was a nice stay.

Family of 10 for my mothers 86th birthday. We had a great stay. Very well kept house. No problems with communication with owner. House comes as advertized. Very steep steps to the lake is the only item worth noting.Overall, we had a great stay.

We had a great time. The bedeooms were of ample space and the large dining table was great for mealtimes. The kitchen is very small, but we were able to make it work.

The house was in a perfect location for us. A beautiful woodsy neighborhood. The house was spacious, clean, well stocked. Very comfortable. The host Michelle was accommodating and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again

We had a blast at this wonderful place. Our afternoons were spent playing outdoor games (they had a great assorment supplied) in the large, well kept yard. Evenings were spent talking around the spacious outdoor firepit. The walk up/down the steps to the lake was strenuous, but became an adventure as time went on. We were a little nervous about bugs, but we were pleasantly surprised with very few all weekend. The kitchen was small but adequate, the patio was lovely for our morning coffee.

We stayed at the cabin to celebrate our son’s graduation from UW-Eau Claire. Because we didn’t know how many family members could make the trip we wanted a place that could sleep many people. The cabin was the perfect fit! The kitchen was equipped with the items we needed. The neighborhood was quiet. We would stay again.

We stayed at the cabin while visiting our daughter at UWEC. It’s only 15 minutes from campus and has everything a family needs to enjoy their time together

My friends an I enjoyed this property. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful scenery, and a nice jaunt down to the lakeside, 10-15 minutes from town. Plenty of charm and space for our group to come together but also have the ability to enjoy the quiet on our own.

We celebrated our mom s 70th birthday it was prefect. It was in center for everyone. Plenty of room for 9 adults and 3 small children. Would highly recommend.

Five long time friends stayed at this great property for a barn quilt painting party at nearby Red Shed Workshops. It was so much more fun than staying at a hotel. Five bedrooms, fully stocked with everything you could need. The host made sure to think of everything a guest may need from coffee creamer to hand lotion. We would highly recommend groups to check out this place. It was below zero during our stay so we didn’t spend any time outside in the backyard or by the lake, but it looked like it would be a great place to hang out.

We stayed two nights here for a family get together in Elk Mound. This was a perfect location close to that and easy access to Eau Claire as well. We had more space than we needed for 5 adults and two kids. Michele was very nice and easy to communicate with. We will surely stay here again next year!

Great place for family after Christmas.

Clean and good space.We liked the separate bedroom from the main floor bedrooms. We have adult children who stay up into the morning hours and we could not hear them. Michelle was very responsive to any of my questions. Great place

I highly recommended this property. It is close enough to the city for the convenience of shopping and sight-seeing, but far enough out of town for some peace and quiet. It is a clean property with plenty of charm. Highly recommended rental with ease of communication to the property manager being a highlight!

Great property and spacious house. Layout made it possible for some privacy between families which is nice. Large gathering/living room and wonderful yard. We had some dogs with us ( permission from owner) and they seemmed at home too

Overall experience was good. Only a few minor issues. Lots of dust on fans, bathroom fans and top of surfaces like shower edge. Stairs to lake are not the most sturdy. Minimal instructions for fireplace. Would still stay again. Would still stayagain.

We had booked this as an alternative to a hotel for a family wedding in Cadott. It was a GREAT move! This had to have been the cleanest home rental we have ever stayed at. Check in was using a simple, the location was an easy 40 min drive to the fest venue and the home had plenty of space for the 9 of us. The house was fully stocked, it was like staying with a family friend. We had access to a fire pit with wood and chairs, 2 kayaks, a paddleboard and a pedal boat (long flight of stairs but worth the fun!). There isn't a beach at the house, but the kids loved using the pedal boat to go directly across the lake to a public one. Tony Capony Pizza was a short drive for pick up and the kids loved that too. Would definitely stay again!

The place was amazing! More than I could've imagined, the pictures don't do justice to the reality of it. After our 10+ hours of volunteering at a new church build in Eau Claire, we got to come back to the house and unwind. My husband and I stayed in the upstairs bedroom, which was great because the others liked to stay awake late at night. We didn't hear a peep from the other part of the house. The host has considered everything anyone could need and made it available to the guests. That is super important for the guests and shows the level of care that the host has for the people who stay there! Thank you. We are hoping to come back annually for leisure.

Michelle's cabin was a great escape for our family of 5, with a wonderful setup, great location flanked by nature on all sides, and easy access to Eau Claire and surrounding towns for any day trips you might be interested in. The lake was fun to paddle around on with kayaks and the well-stocked board game collection was a hit in the evenings. Bonus: If you're missing your stair climber workout - just take the trip down to the lake and back up once or twice and you'll be set! ;-)
