Cute cottage in a lovely courtyard, private and with good parking. Helpful, friendly hosts who left you to do your own thing. Would definitely book again, thank you.

Basic accommodation as was advertised but comfortable enough with plenty of hot water and lovely hot shower. Beautiful courtyard outside the cottage and lovely big paddock over the road which our Labrador loved. Good value for money and excellent position for exploring the beautiful North Yorkshire moors and ridings, only 15 minutes from Pickering to catch the North Yorkshire moors steam railway. We really enjoyed our time there and the owners were very helpful and welcoming.

We stayed in willow cottage, one of 3 cottages in a pretty courtyard. Whilst the accommodation was far from modern, it did hold a quaint old fashioned charm. Remember, you are staying on a working farm, so the owners are busy with their everyday farm work, but they were very friendly. Kirkbymoorside is only 6 miles away and there is a decent sized co op and some artisan shops. We loved the constant display from the numerous swifts that nest in the open barn within the courtyard. We couldn't stay the full 5 days for family reasons, but we did find out time there relaxing.

Lovely and quiet getaway for 4 nights. A place to escape the hustle and stress of life. Cosy little cottage with everything you need for daily living. We brought most of the food we needed. We took our small dog and she loved it. The courtyard within the 3 cottages has lawn/slabs/ stone and a nice little pond. We went to a small wood a few miles away near Middleton (millennium wood), so that she could go off lead for half an hour whilst we strolled. There's a few places of interest not far away. Brill if you're a member of English Heritage and National Trust. Yorkshire Lavender is lovely for a relaxing walk around. Overall, well worth staying here, we will book again in the near future. We used the co-op few bits.

There were far more amenities than it seemed for the listing and price. There was washing up liquid, cleaners, lots of kitchen equipment, magazines, books and DVDs. Everything was very clean. The photos for not do it justice. We were really pleased and the building was lovely. There was a lovely outside area with swallows flying around. Would be great to have a photo of this on the listing. Would be great for a young family as the bedroom has a double bed, single bed and cot. The area is gorgeous with lots to do. I would recommend a sign in the car park so you know you have arrived but apart from that could not want any more for the amazingly low price.

the cottage forms part of an enclosed courtyard that backs on to the farm yard. within the courtyard are 3 cottages, a small pond and mature planting which was frequented by many birds that were lovely to watch while sitting outside enjoying a coffee. the cottage itself had 2 bedrooms at opposite ends and an open living/dining/kitchen in the middle. everything was there that was needed from kitchen utensils and crockery, beds were made up and coal/kindling for the fire of needed. although there were a few cobwebs within the beams of the open ceiling, the furnishings were a little dated and some general wear and tear throughout, the cottage felt very homely and cosy. there is also a small, separate utility room in one corner of the courtyard that has a washing machine, dryer and chest freezer that can be used. there is also an ironing board but no iron i had sent a couple of messages via the website with queries and had replies fairly quickly. we only met the hosts very briefly on arrival to be shown where cottage was and we saw them again when we left just saying we were away. the main road from Scarborough to Thirsk is around 2 miles from the farm. Kirkbymoorside is the nearest town around 1 mile along this road. there are plenty of places to see and things to do. budget for parking as every car park is charged from around £2.40 per hour. if planning on visiting a few English Heritage sites consider becoming a member will definitely book again, lovely and peaceful
