Comfortable Home On 3 Private Wooded Acres In The Heart Of Mount Desert Island

Our stay was fantastic, the only regret was not staying longer. We were close to great shops, and the National Park. The house has everything you need, and feels like a home! Our stay was 4 adults, and 4 children from 8-1 Years old. The kids had a blast and would spend early mornings and nights playing in the basement. The yard is secluded and well maintained. The next trip we take up to Acadia we will stay again without question.

Wonderful stay! Enjoyed the inside and outside of this lovely home. Badminton on the lawn, lunch on the deck, puzzles, games, books, wii in a homey, house in the woods. Even the driveway, amongst the fall foliage, was picturesque. Kitchen, laundry and bedrooms perfect for a long, family stay.

This property’s pictures do not quite capture the amazing setting provided. The combination of hot tub and fire pit were perfect for a Fall visit. The hot tub is set in its own wooded oasis yet right by the house… truly peaceful! Owners were ultra-responsive and a pleasure to interact with. This spot and offering could not have been better!

Everything was great. A. Property grounds and home itself are absolutely beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. 6 adults and one 3 yr old in our party, and it was perfect. Plenty of room, natural beauty, a wonderful garden and both indoor and outdoor activities to keep busy when not out exploring.Homw close to great restaurants, Bar Harbor, trails, picnic areas and Acadia, which is truly a gem.We hope to be back again one day and thank the property owners for sharing their beautiful home with us!!!! This property is excellent! One of the nicest places I have stayed. Beautiful house, well taken care of, very clean, well stocked. Linens, bedding, kitchen fully stocked.And the owner Kirk was so nice. We had a light out by the porch and he fixed it immediately. He helped us with the dishwasher. And he was very friendly and helpful.He even suggested a route we could drive and it was so scenic. We got some great pictures. You won’t want to leave!

My family and I had an amazing time at Fern Haven! Thank you, Kirk, for sharing your beautiful home and amazing property. My kids enjoyed playing badminton and exploring the bunny trail. The home had everything we needed. The location was perfect for getting to different areas on the island within 15/20 minutes - perfect! We enjoyed all the standard touristy things as well as trying and exploring new to us trails and activities.We can't wait until next summer!

Wonderful house, wonderful location and wonderful hosts! My family of four (including a 2yr old and 4yr old) really enjoyed staying here. The “secret hideout” upstairs and the huge train sets were main attractions and the kids were sad to leave.

Everything about this home was great. Very clean upon check-in, check-in instructions were clear. Plenty of room for you family. All appliances worked well. Strong WiFi. Very pretty property, surrounded by the woods. We made use of their garden, and their BBQ grill. The outside seating on the table on the deck was very roomy. The communications with the owner were excellent. Very convenient, and private, location

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home nestled in the woods near Acadia. The property is private, quiet, and surrounded by nature — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house really felt at home. It was clean, spacious, and well-stocked with everything we needed(including Wii and PS4 that the kids loved). It has fully and thoughtfully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.One of the unexpected highlights was playing badminton in the yard — a fun bonus that both kids and adults enjoyed! The outdoor space was great for unwinding after our hikes, and we appreciated having room to spread out and enjoy the fresh air.The location was ideal: close enough to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor for easy day trips, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and secluded. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nature-filled escape near the park.

Absolutely gorgeous property! Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Acadia. Close to Echo Lake, Bar Harbor, and all the sites while still having the off the beaten path feel. House had tons of amenities and everything we needed for a family trip. Host was very courteous and accessible. Simply amazing!

My daughter and I visited Maine for the first time and stayed at Fern Haven. All the charming touches made us feel right at home. It was wonderful to come back after a long day of exploring and relax in the hot tub. The location is perfect as Acadia National State Park and Bar Harbor are minutes away. So many fun shops and restaurants nearby. The house is filled with books, games, puzzles etc which are perfect for a rainy day. Plus it was so cool to see the beautiful garden on the property coming to life. Thank you Kirk & Claudine for a most memorable stay.

I could not have asked for a more perfect place for our family to stay while visiting the area. We really enjoyed the central location and felt like we could easily get anywhere we wanted to go on the island without a long drive. If you ask our kids (9 and 12) about their favorite parts of the trip this VRBO is on that list! The house was so charming and relaxing. It was plenty big for our family of 4. My kids loved the hot tub, the basement (massive bean bag, darts, legos), badminton, puzzles and games and the fire pit/smores. I loved the layout of the house for a family (kids upstairs, master bedroom on main floor) very well stocked kitchen and rooms, heated floors, very clean, comfy beds and couch and an overall feeling of blending nature with quality family time. Being close to the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor was nice but for me personally I wouldn't want to stay there. It was nice going back to the quiet and peaceful property of this house. If you are looking for a charming house with amenities for a family and a great location, this is your gem. I would highly recommend this place to any family and friends traveling to the area and would definitely stay here again. It was hard to leave! Also, communication with the owner was excellent. He even inquired about our preferences for goodies in a welcome basket.

We stayed here for the MDI marathon weekend. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Was great to gather at the farmhouse table and relax on the sofa. We had an enjoyable stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

Perfect location. Lovely home and property. Obviously well cared for and owner was most responsive and flexible. We enjoyed the outside patio table and plenty of room inside with well equipped kitchen - we ate in several nights. Location could not be better - 10 minutes to groceries, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain and park entrance. Best lobster roll ever is right down the street - The Traveling Lobster!

Great location, loved that the water was extra filtered, and the house/hot tub exceeded expectations. Owner was so nice and very responsive. 5/5
