Stayed May 17, 2019We’ve been to Florida over half a dozen times and love to go. This was my least favorite rental of them all. Really needs updating. We have young kids and had to worry in the bathrooms because the master has a broken tile and the other 2 have loose tiles. A bunch of the power outlets (mostly in the bathrooms) wouldn’t hardly hold a plug. No blinds in one window of the master made for very early mornings. The upstairs bathrooms barely had warm water and absolutely NO hot water. When I go to the beach a hot shower to wash the sand off is a daily need and it made for a tough trip...especially trying to get the kids washed. Parking was fine and convenient. The food in the fridge wasn’t cleaned out from the previous guests. I don’t recall seeing on the listing that the third bedroom is in the garage...no connection to the house except through the garage which was fine but not clearly stated in the info. Has potential to be a fine place to stay but needs some updating for sure.

Stayed Jun 2, 2018As the title states, this location is awesome. The sand and beach are just steps away which was great since we have little kids. No worries of them getting tired on the walk to the beach or having to cross traffic. There are 2 beach areas to choose from. One is behind the jetty's which made the water calm and allowed for the kids to have a little more freedom playing in the water. The gulf side had larger waves which were fun for the kids. Neither beach was really crowded and we had ample space to setup and play in the sand. Lots of creatures and shells for the kids to explore and watch. There are grocery stores and restaurants close by and the harbor is just a short drive. Once you got back to the house you didn't feel like you were in the hustle and bustle anymore and it was quiet. The house itself was nice. We didn't use the bedroom off the garage, but didn't notice the smell that other reviewers had mentioned. We ate most meals at the house and found there to be ample cooking utensils. The gas range and stove is nice and heats quickly. The master bedroom was very large and the closet big enough to store all our luggage. Our kids both slept in the 2nd bedroom upstairs and loved all the books since most of them were new to us. We never heard a peep out of the different groups that stayed in the unit next door. The 2nd group that stayed there was pretty large, but we still couldn't hear them once we were inside. The outdoor shower was convenient for washing off all the sand upon returning from the beach. The washer and dryer in the garage was used a couple times during the week which was nice since we didn't have to worry about doing a ton of laundry when we got home. The jetty's were great fishing. I woke up early every day to get out by sunrise. Tons of sand fleas available on the beach. I caught fish every trip I took out and the locals were nice and helpful. The Track, Fudpuckers, Fat Daddy's, Merlins, Half Hitch, and many other stores and destinations were all a quick drive and fun. Harbor Walk was interesting and the kids loved watching the boats unload their catches. The restaurants were on the pricey side, but the house is close enough that you didn't have to eat there if you didn't want. Overall we loved the location and enjoyed the house. We'll be back in the future and will recommend this place to our friends. Blows the doors off Gulf Shores.

Stayed Apr 2, 2018I stayed here with my boyfriend and our four kids for four nights during our Spring Break in April. The location is amazing and the timing was nice because it wasn't too crowded. I highly encourage anyone going to Destin to stay on Holiday Isle as it has the most beautiful beaches and is away from the hustle and bustle of Harborwalk Village. You can even order a water taxi to take you from Holiday Isle to Harborwalk for a small fee, which was awesome to avoid driving and traffic. The house is spacious and divided into three levels where the main living area doesn't have any bedrooms, which I really liked since some of the kids went to bed earlier than others. The master bedroom is very large with a big bathroom with a separate space for the shower and tub. The king size bed is old and needs to be replaced. It slants heavily to one side and I found myself rolling onto that side throughout the night and unfortunately didn't sleep well because of that. The main room has a smallish older TV that doesn't have an HDMI outlet so we weren't able to plug in our Roku like we had anticipated. No biggie - just watch some of the many DVD's we watched.; however, there wasn't a DVD player in that room, which was really odd. We grabbed the one from the downstairs bedroom to plug in but it didn't work. After some troubleshooting we were able to log into our Netflix account through the satellite system. I think my biggest hesitation on returning to this rental would be the extra bedroom which can only be accessed through the garage. It's got a nice full (or queen - I can't recall) bed, an attached bathroom, and a TV but the smell of mildew was so strong coming out of the garage that it was almost inhabitable. Our teenager likes privacy so she was willing to spend her nights down there instead of on the foldout sofa on the main floor, but I don't think I would have been able to sleep there all night. I understand being close to the beach the smell of mold and mildew occurs, it's par for the course, but the smell is extremely strong and unpleasant. There were a few cans of Febreze throughout the house and I'm assuming they are there to help mask the smell. If you leave the door that leads to the garage open the smell of mildew makes it way upstairs so you have to be pretty good about closing that door. The house has potential if it got a good deep cleaning and some upgrades.

Stayed Jul 22, 2017This area is amazing! 3 different beaches to choose from within walking distance. Great spot to watch the fireworks. Short drive to Target or Walgreens for supplies. My family has stayed in this neighborhood for the last 3 years. We love it! This house is awesome, perfect for large families. Everyone in our group had their own space. The balcony has a view of the beach and jetties, very relaxing. The master bedroom is very large and spacious. The bunk room is just right for the teenagers. There is a small bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor off the garage, perfect for grandparents to recharge. The garage is full of beach toys, bikes and boogie boards. Washer and dryer in the garage is nice too! We had an amazing week here and will visit again next summer! Thank you Mike for lending us your home, it is beautiful and welcoming!

Stayed Jun 17, 2017There is no pool as its listed. The stairs are very slippery and not recommended for children and seniors. The furniture is functional but not comfortable. All the floors are either hardwood or tile. Some rugs would really help cut the noise in the great room. Our stove didnt work but the owner was replacing it after we reported it. The king bed leans to one side but the other beds were fine. The area of Destin is amazing and there is so much to do. The private beach is the prize here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969After arriving a short time before check-in we found the house clean and ready for us to move in. With plenty of parking, any dish you could imagine, and a garage full of beach gear, I would find it very hard to not return to this townhouse. There were a total of 6 people staying during our week long retreat and we had plenty of room and privacy when needed. Great place to stay.
