Hague, New York
Welcome to 'Cliff Cottage' overlooking peaceful Northern Lake George in the quiet hamlet of Hague.
Living in Cliff Cottage is like being in a tree house overlooking Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains. The spectacular panoramic lake views are of one of the most beautiful spots on Lake George - the Waltonian Islands and Island Harbor. Our family began visiting Hague on Lake George in the early 1900's. If this is your first visit to Lake George, we guarantee you will be captivated by its beauty. For returning visitors, we look forward to sharing our mutual love of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains with you.
Cliff Cottage is a rare find...a vintage Lake George cottage with newer amenities, such as a new kitchen and full bathroom in the master bedroom, and new windows. There is still LOTS of unique charm!
Cliff Cottage is directly across Lakeshore Drive from Lake George, overlooking the lake and featuring a screened porch and 3 decks, all with breathtaking views of Lake George, 'The Queen of American Lakes.'
Cliff Cottage does NOT have direct lake access. Swimming and lake access is via the Hague Public Beach, approximately 1 mile away. The lakefront across from the Cottage is private property. There is a nearby marina if you wish to rent a power boat, canoe or kayaks. Rogers Rock State Park is a short drive away, and has a beautiful beach and picnic area.
Cliff Cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 Queens and 2 twins) sleeps 6. There are beds for 6 guests with additional sleeping (2 max) on cots/inflatables (bring your own).
First floor contains two bedrooms (Queen with 1/2 bath) and additional bedroom with two twin beds. There is a full bath/shower on this first floor along with a new kitchen for 2019.
Second floor has the Master Bedroom (Queen and additional twin bed) along with full bath/shower.
Great clean house for a small family. Fantastic view, minutes away from Hague public beach that is much cleaner and nicer than other public beaches across the lake. Area is less crowded than Bolton Landing, yet still 20 mins drive tops to good restaurants and attractions. Few good moderate hikes nearby. Definitely recommend and likely are coming back. Doug is a great host. Very responsive, all instructions are timely and crystal clear
We enjoyed our stay here. The house is old, with lots of character, and nicely furnished. Small kitchen had just enough of what we needed for our stay. We loved the views and relaxing on the multiple decks. Ticonderoga is a short drive away, with a few restaurants. We also liked the 2 1/2 baths. We rented a boat from Dockside Landing Marina, and they were great to deal with. The location in Hague up a dirt road really gives you the feeling of being away from all!
We had a great experience at the Cliff Cottage. It was cool and rainy up at the lake, and the house was relaxing and made the weather enjoyable! The house is clean and has everything we needed. Sandra was extremely helpful and communicative. I'd highly recommend staying here.
The owners are very detail oriented , we never needed a thing during our stay . This unique home is a must see . We would stay here again !
I fell in love with this house the minute I walked in the door. It’s quirky and charming and so comfortable for a week at the lake. The view of the lake draws you to the amazing porch. I could just sit there forever! Even on a rainy day, the porch was perfect to take in the amazing lake views you can never get tired of. The house does not have access to the lake, but the views more than make up for it, and we took the kids to the Hague beach one day and had a nice time. The kitchen is small, but we did not do much fancy cooking, and it worked out fine. All in all a very relaxing stay, and we will come back for sure.
This is a unique house . Very comfy and the view is awesome. The town's are far enough away but still close . We enjoyed our stay very much . Sandy and Bruce are great host. Thanks we will return again
What a great house! Plenty of room. We especially loved the screened in porch that overlooks the lake. Even though it rained while we were there, we enjoyed hanging out in the porch area and watching the lake. The cute town of Hague is nearby with a good restaurant. Definitely a great way to be at Lake George without all the crowds.
This was a fantastic find for our lake George vacation. The porch and decks offer fantastic views and we spent a lot of time hanging out there. The breeze through the windows kept the house very comfortable and the sound of the lapping wave at night was a treat to fall asleep to. The house itself is has a lot of character inside and is quaint and cottagey, which is what we were looking for. The kitchen a little dated, but functional, and it would seem out of place if they were to replace everything with modern high end kitchen stuff. The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with. We will be trying to plan another vacation here ASAP.
We spent our July 4th weekend at cliff cottage. The views from the cottage were simply awesome. The hospitality of Bruce and Sandy was really priceless !! I will love to come back again and stay at this wonderful house. Thanks Sandy for all your help.
My friends and I went to Lake George as a graduation trip, to spend some quality secluded time together. Cliff Cottage could not have been a more perfect location. We were so excited when we arrived and saw our house up on the cliff as pictures really don't do it justice. The inside is comfortable, functional, and even historical, but we really spent most of our time on the incredible porch because we could not get enough of the view. There was a lot to do in Hague without having to go very far, including boat rentals and hiking trails which were right behind the house. Sandy and Bruce were great hosts, and they really made the house and experience special for us.
