Stayed Nov 16, 2017I apologize my argument's language (I'm french). However, if you wanna discover real NOLA, and not only the french quarter (but you have to visited once), this is the perfect place. To be honest I preferred Magazine instead of FQ! The place is very nice and the owner is awesome. I've been totally charmed by this place.

Stayed Dec 20, 2016We stayed here just before Christmas 2016 with 3 adults and two kids (11 and 13). Accommodations are very nice, the bedrooms comfortable and the extra sleeping area very useful. Lisa was great to deal with and even came out one evening when we couldn't locate a bottle opener. We didn't do any major cooking other than warming up some soup one day, but the kitchen has all the necessary items. Offstreet parking a major plus! The overall neighborhood is an eclectic mix of properties, not all kept to the same standard perhaps, but that adds to the character. The French cafe at the corner of Magazine (just 2 mins walk) is great, we used it for breakfasts and one lunch, and there's a few other shops and restaurants nearby as well. The grocery store is maybe 10 mins walk. Getting up to the streetcar on St. Charles is also about 10 mins to walk, then maybe 40 mins to Canal St. Overall very convenient and pleasant, and also quite quiet. We had a great time and would definitely use again.

Stayed Dec 24, 2016A great and classically traditional New Orleans home, close to Magazine Street and all that this neighborhood has to offer. The owner Lisa is great to work with and very responsive. And, the house is just as advertised – if not better. The three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the additional futon space offer great flow and accommodations for groups. This is also a great location for enjoying all of New Orleans best offerings. It is convenient to the St. Charles Street Car line and accessible to the uptown, garden district, warehouse, and French Quarter corridor.

Stayed Dec 30, 2016We rented this beautiful home in Uptown New Orleans for a family wedding that was held in the Garden District on New Years Eve 2016. My wife and I stayed here with two of our adult children and my oldest son's girlfriend. The accommodations were perfect. My wife and I stayed in the back bedroom off of the kitchen and used the bathroom located at the back of the house. My son and his girlfriend stayed in the middle bedroom and my daughter stayed in the front bedroom. The house has a living room with adjoining dining room in the front of the house. The over-sized coach in the living room was perfect for a quick nap after a night in the French Quarter. The kitchen has all the utensils and appliances that you need to prepare a meal (we did not during our stay) or heat up leftovers from one of the great restaurants nearby on Magazine St. The owner is very responsive and was more than willing to work with me on arrival times and very helpful. She checked in on us during the stay and answered all questions quickly. Great property that I would rent anytime a house was needed in Uptown or near the Garden District. There is a French bakery, La Boulangerie, on Magazine about 1.5 blocks from the house. This bakery has decadent pastries and serves coffee and delicious sandwiches. We frequented this bakery but the lines can be long but worth the wait! There are also numerous other good restaurants on Magazine. Try the Rum House on Magazine for some fun food and drinks. GREAT PROPERTY and OWNER!!!

Stayed Nov 10, 2016The house was perfect! Very clean, in a fantastic location right off Magazine St. and only a few short blocks from the streetcar. I could not be happier with the choice and Lisa is amazing to work with. She was very responsive to questions and gave some great suggestions on places to go and eat. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Stayed Nov 3, 2016We stayed November 3rd-7th and had a great time at the house. We had two couples that shared the home but the home is large enough to accommodate 6-8 people comfortably. There was a ton of space and the home had everything you would need to stay in and eat or cook a meal. The home is off Magazine Street and close to restaurants, convenient stores (sell alcohol/snacks) and shopping. You can defiantly get away with not having a car due to everything being so close. We enjoyed a great French bakery every morning at the end of the street on Magazine. The lines were long but worth it! We liked the location of the home as it was close to friends we were visiting and was just a quick Uber ride to Bourbon Street and other attractions. Lisa the home owner was quick to respond and checked in on us to see if we needed anything while we were there.

Stayed Oct 5, 2016If you've never been to New Orleans, the BEST time to visit is during its perfect fall weather. Our party of 7 found this charming restored home to be sparkling clean and well furnished to meet all of our needs. Our groups ages ran from 60-85, with one member slightly handicapped. Three very comfortable bedrooms shared the main hall full bathroom. The futon in the very back was perfect for our lone traveler, being quiet with its own bath and steps from the full laundry area. The home is a beautifully restored southern shotgun, meaning long & narrow, easy to share with such a large group. We had an easy 3 block walk to a large grocery, providing everything from wines, beer, all groceries & paper goods. (Take a back pack or empty suitcase on wheels for the walk back) We were an easy and lovely 4 block walk to the trolley stop which you can ride all over taking in the many beautiful residential & commercial areas throughout New Orleans, including the French Quarter. Uber was also the perfect and affordable way to be picked up & dropped off whether to & from the airport or just getting around town at any hour. Magazine St. is the main thoroughfare, 4 blocks up from this home, and is lined with lovely little shops & great restaurants. The French pastry shop on the corner is a MUST! (get there early as they sell out & be sure to dine alfresco) You'll still see much of the ongoing rebuilding of New Orleans from hurricane Katrina, so embrace the resilience of this gracious city and all it has to offer. Jazz concerts in the park, great food everywhere, stunning architecture and gardens and music are everywhere. Rock & Bowl is always a fun thing to do, even if you're not bowling (food isn't great there, but who cares? it's all fun!) Be sure to take notice of all the gas light fixtures still in use throughout the city & residential neighborhoods. You can visit their workshop when strolling. A river cruise on a paddlewheel is unique & a lovely way to visit from a new perspective. Everyone in our group was able to easily navigate & experience the city. I highly recommend this home & location to anyone wanting to stay slightly outside the noise & bluster of the more tourist areas while remaining very accessible to them. Lightweight, folding wheelchair can be rented if necessary from local supply store. This home has full cable access large flatscreen TV in the living room, also Wi-Fi. The owner is easy to contact, quick to help in any way.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I stayed in this home while in town for a wedding over Halloween weekend. Lisa was extremely responsive and accommodating - especially when we had to deal with travel woes requiring some flexibility. Lisa provided very helpful recommendations for family-friendly restaurants as well as useful information on close-by essentials like grocery stores (which is only a short walk away). The home is perfectly located just blocks from the shops and restaurants on Magazine Street. It's a short walk to the St. Charles Streetcar Line and a quick Streetcar ride to Audubon park. We had ample space for 5 adults and 2 small children. The house was a perfect home base for exploring the city and comfortable enough to just stay put and relax. We would absolutely recommend this property and will try to stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans.
