Stayed May 20, 2026Cute. Only complaint i have with lots of the vrbo is they usually put the plug in's. I am one that cannot tolerate them. But, i set out on the porch until dark and unplugged them. The winding road was fun. Quiet neighborhood

Stayed May 9, 2026The fenced-in yard was good for our dog. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house is nice, and the yard is neat. There was plenty of room to park on the gravel driveway. Be sure to bring a sleep mask if you like to sleep in a dark room because the plastic miniblinds let in a lot of light from the nearby streetlight. The house is in a fairly busy neighborhood. We highly recommend The Char for a nice meal. It's only 6 minutes away. The menu is a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth it!

Stayed Apr 11, 2026Stayed at this property for 1 night. The property has been completely updated and is more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We appreciated the large, fenced in backyard for our dog. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to all my questions.

Stayed Oct 25, 2025Very responsive host, and a cute clean home! Others have mentioned the large floor heating vent. While a little inconvenient, this didn’t bother me at all, just adds to the charm of an older (but nicely renovated) house. My dog navigated around it fine and seemed to give it a wide berth intuitively, so that was not an issue. The large fenced yard was great, and I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

Stayed Aug 18, 2025Nicely remolded. We had an issues caused by us. The owner was there to help out within an hour. If you stay there do not lock the door lock. It’s not just a pass through knob. We locked it and of course the code meant nothing at that point. Like o said great response and we moved right along. We will stay there again

Stayed Aug 3, 2025Extremely clean home. Everything was operational. We were there just for the night, so we didn't need to use anything in the kitchen but the refrigerator. But everything was there. Great communication from the owner. Kudos to whoever cleans this home -- it was spotless.

Stayed May 22, 2025We were stopping in the area to visit New River Gorge on the way to visiting our son in North Carolina. The house was conveniently located, within 30 minutes of the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and hikes we planned for the afternoon, 15 minutes from the Grandview Visitor Center we planned to visit on our way out the next morning. It was also close enough to a few restaurants, and there is a Dollar General at the end of the street. The neighborhood is quiet, and close enough to attractions and restaurants, but away from busy touristy areas. The house was just as described, and has been nicely refreshed; we would stay here again. We had no problem finding the house, but note that if using Apple maps, it will actually take you past the driveway, so be sure to drive slowly and keep an eye out for the side-view of the house as shown in the photos above.

Stayed Dec 19, 2024The house is nice, great yard, pleasant place to stay… except there is an old furnace that heats through a big floor vent in a main walking area between the bedrooms and bathroom that gets REALLY hot. Luckily my husband noticed it before our 1yo did. It was a big concern for us with a little one. We had to make a barricade to try to prevent our child from getting burned. It is also really loud at night. We had to keep the bedroom doors open to let the heat in. It’s fine for adults but not ideal for families with small children or pets.

Stayed Nov 3, 2024Positives: --very clean --great fenced yard for dog (even has a driveway gate) --remodel was done in spirit of the original depression era construcion--they used what was available and made it look pretty good. --nice front porch --new, comfortable furniture and bedding. --quite neighborhood. --good price for a house and fenced lot. --the heating system is very efficient. Negatives: --had to remind the host to send us the entry instructions. --house is not well marked. We arrived after dark and couldn't see the black house numbers on the dark brown porch post. The house numbers face the side of the house so they cannot be seen easily from the street. The mailbox directly in front of the house shows the neighbor's address so it looks like the rental is actually not the address it should be. Entering a fenced property, after dark, is a good way to get shot so we were VERY tentative in approaching the house. We finally found an old image of the house on Google Streetview which showed the correct, though very faded, house numbers, convincing us that the house was indeed the one we were looking for. --the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The three or four lots to either side are well kept and presentable but there are a few houses along the street which look abandoned. We would not have stayed if there had not been a fence around the yard. If you're from West Virginia (we are) and have lived in a coal town before (we have), this property is just like you'll remember.

Stayed Oct 14, 2024This was a single night stay for my family as we drove from Florida to Pennsylvania. The home was clean and cute. The fenced in yard was a huge bonus for the pup. It is directly off the highway so it doesn’t add time to your drive.

Stayed Oct 5, 2024It says newly remodled but, in this house, it was cheaply and pooly done. There is no luxurious tub to soak in. It is old and stained. Cheap towels. No extras like kleenex. This place is not conveniently located to anything. While GPS brings you to the house, there is no visible house number. The main TV is old. No television package is available. I would never stay here again or recommend it.
