The Space:

A place of pure peace and retro charm, this Oak Harbor home overlooks the stunning Washington coastline! With direct beach access, be sure to get outside and enjoy the breeze at your leisure. Within 10 miles you'll discover Deception Pass Golf Center, Rosario Head Trailhead, and Joseph Whidbey State Park.

Inside, instantly feel welcomed by the warm wood finishes, carefully curated decorations, and ample natural lighting. The open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen blend together perfectly. Put a log on the wood-burning fireplace and stream your favorite shows from the comfort of the plush sofa.

The well-equipped kitchen provides a pleasant space to play chef amongst the suite of stainless steel appliances and pristine countertops. When you want to escalate your cooking, fire up the provided gas grill. Dine inside or alfresco on the home's expansive, scenic deck.

The bedroom's cheerful yellow, blue, and red accents will draw you in. Rinse off in the tiled walk-in shower after a day spent in the salty air, and throw your vacation garb in the private washer/dryer for a refresher.

As the sun begins to set over the water, head back outside and gaze out at unforgettable views.

THINGS TO KNOW

For many this is not an issue and rather a source of excitement, but for some this is disturbing. Please check the flight schedule to see if your dates would be impacted by the jet noise before confirming your reservation, if the jet noise is of concern.

Really Rustic cabin right on the ocean. Amazing stay to watch boats go by, beach combing, majestic mountains, and tons and tons of birds. Right on the flight path, so really exciting days & evenings supporting our incredible Navy. Well stocked kitchen w/tons of utensils & bakeware, shower is incredible, very comfortable bed and bedding. Lots of comfortable seating & cozy blankets inside & out. All in all and incredible stay. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible cabin with all of us!

This is truly right on the beach and easy to take a beach walk. It is next to a public beach access, so there are plenty of fisherman coming for a boat launch and lots of water activity. The unit is secluded and quiet and an easy drive to Deception Pass and Oak Harbor.

Great little house with fantastic beach location. Only drawbacks are the naval air station nearby and windows that don’t open so it gets very hot in summer. You have to keep the front and back door open to get any breeze and there are no s teens on the doors. The chipmunks and bunnies want to stop in for a look around. Other than that, it’s a fun, mid century vibe and a house right in the beach!

This beachfront cabin was delightful. It’s comfortable, cozy and clean with so many lovely details — like the collection of beach glass, driftwood decor and pictures of the family. The patio furniture and blankets kept us warm while we enjoyed the amazing sunset and sound of the waves. It’s just a short walk to the beach if you want to dip your toes in the icy water or sit on a log and breathe in the salty air. Truly a special place. We are so happy the owners are sharing it.

The place is overall great, well kept, comfortable. Would have been nice to have coffee available but that s expected when the mgt is Vacasa, a separate company that requires you to download their app to get the codes to get in etc. A bit of a hassle on the front end but was overall worth it and we d stay again.

This adorable house was right on the water, with a beautiful view & beach access! I enjoyed sitting on the deck & looking at the water. The décor and updates to the home were fabulous considering it was built in the 1950's. It was clean, kitchen well stocked, bed comfortable, & plenty of linens. I appreciate the warning about the navy planes. I checked the flight schedules in advance as recommended & nothing was planned. I wasn't sure what to expect. I have no idea what is typical for the planes taking off from this NAS (or any other for that matter). Flights take off & this house is in the flight path, just north of the runway that was being used (you can see it on google maps). The planes taking off were mostly F16's or F18's. They are close & you get a close view! On Tues, 4/15 from 5-8pm, 3 fighter jets took off; from 8-10pm 22 took off, there was 1 fly over. Wed, 4/16 from 9a-1pm, 21 took off, 3 fly overs (including a helicopter). From 8pm-1030pm 5 took off, 4 fly overs. On Thurs, 4/17 from 845-11am 7 took off (including a commercial looking jet plane), 6 fly overs. I was curious about the decibel levels. Using an online decibel meter, when the jets took off it was 98 dB in the house with all the windows & doors closed. It was 108 dB inside the house with the bedroom windows & backdoor open. Sitting outside the house it was 110 dB. To be clear, the owners have no control over this. I anticipate some days have less flights taking off than others, it is an active NAS.

The wife and I needed a getaway close to home and were looking for cozy and intimate. The Cooke House gave us so much more. You could feel the generations of history here; from the man, Mr. Cooke, who built this place log by log and brick by brick with his own 2 hands.

A well kept, and tranquil home that made for a very relaxing and pleasant stay. The house was very clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything we might have needed. Highly recommend spending time at this lovely home and staring away at the sunset.

I Loved the Beach house, it's history, cozy decor and amenities met all our needs. Where things fell short, was specifically in regards with the property management company Vacasa. Their guest and no party policy seemed unusually strict. All guests must be added to the reservation ,even if guests are not staying the night, or be formally evicted with no refund, no parties whatsoever. I was hoping to invite my brother and his fiance over to celebrate our wedding anniversary with some takeout and cake. Does this qualify as a party? I'm a nearly 30 bookworm. I don't throw loud ragers. The Cabin has so many amenities for entertaining, and sharing memories with loved ones but the very strictly worded notices on the fridge suggested otherwise. I called the property manager's number that was listed in the binder, Cassandra. I was hoping to get my guest family members added to the booking but no one answered and there was no voicemail box set up. We had to change our plans last minute to find a way to celebrate the occasion. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Which was extra frustrating because the home was wonderful otherwise.
