Eastham, Massachusetts
This quintessential sun filled 576 square foot Cape Cottage is located in the historic Fort Hill area. The home has been fully renovated with modern design and amenities. There is an outdoor shower, screened in porch, gas grill, fireplace and central A/C and ceiling fans for the summer months. The home is well appointed in simplistic and comfortable style. It s the perfect spot for a couple or small family. Please note, the maximum guests are two individuals. Given that this is a small house, the cottage has limited closet space. There is ample storage under the beds for clothes and two areas with shelves available for guests. As much as we would love to host guests with dogs, some canines have not been well behaved at the cottage. We no longer can allow dogs or pets of any kind.
The home is a very short walk to Fort Hill and preserved uplands on the National Seashore with spectacular views of Nauset Marsh and the Outer beach. Multiple trails lead you though groves of maple, past Native American historic sites to Hemenway Landing for launching your kayak or boat.
Absolute perfect location and layout. Loved being able to sit on the screened porch to begin and end the day - we never even used the living room. The outdoor shower had direct access to the bathroom. Kitchen was spacious with plenty of room for two to work. This location can't be beat for access to mid and outer cape. The view from Fort Hill is one of the prettiest on the cape. Would 100% stay again.
Marin was easy to reach and quickly responsive to a problem that arose with internet access, bravely tackling the robo- and 'human person' nightmare of the cable company. It is a nice location, a clean property and very comfortable. It would even be better if there was a line to hang-dry towels, etc, and maybe some shelving for 'stuff.'
A cozy, clean and comfortable little house, great for 2 people. The host was very responsive to our questions. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.
Beautifully refurbished with hardwood floors, working fireplace, immaculate kitchen with stainless steel appliances and everything you need for your stay, oThis cottage is a gem. The location is wonderful, a stones throw from Captain Penniman’s House in the Fort Hill Area. As noted, lack of closet space and privacy are the only issues.
We enjoyed Maren’s home very much. It is cute, well decorated, and had a very well stocked chef’s kitchen for cooking! The location was great, right near a beautiful nature trail and easy to access the outer cape and lower cape. The bathroom was a great size and we loved the screened in porch and fun (pug) decorations. One thing to note, as is mentioned in the description, the place is small and does not have much in the way of closets. We got creative with where we stored clothes and it was fine. Overall, I recommend this home.
The cottage was clean and artistically attractive. However, there were problems. There were no clothes closets on the premises, only a few hooks on back of doors. There was a privacy issue as there were large windows and little window coverings. The bathroom had a glass door outside the shower area that had no covering. The most disturbing problem was an insect issue. We killed several what appeared to be cockroaches during our week’s stay. Not a comfortable fit for senior travelers.
A lovely cottage with a wonderful kitchen. Very close to Fort Hill, a terrific scenic hiking area with great views. You can hear some noise from Route 6 but otherwise the setting is calm and quiet.
This place was great. I'm kind of a nerd re decor, and this met my standards. Very small, but I expected that, based on the sq ft in the listing and others reviews. Reminded me of a sailboat in the way function was incorporated into a small space. The porch and the outdoor shower are stellar. Unfortunately(!) it was not cool enough to take advantage of the fireplace. The walk to Fort Hill was so close, it was easy to scoot up to watch a few sunrises. Storing clothing was a bit of a challenge, but the extra room served well as a closet. Thanks!
The place is perfect in every way!!!
Walking trail close to the property, we are familiar with Eastham with the great beaches and biking path. Traveled to Harwich for pickleball. The house is perfect except no place to store your clothes. We utilized the bunk beds for our clothes. Plenty of utensils, dishes and silverware.
We needed extra space for our family reunion in Eastham. This cottage was within walking distance to our location and was the perfect place for one couple. We love the proximity to Fort Hill and to the bike path. The property owner was responsive and super helpful. One of our best VRBO experiences ever!
My wife and I had a wonderful week in this comfortable cottage that comes with all of the amenities that you could want. We saw the sunset and sunrise from the Fort Hill overlook, perfectly located to the beaches on the bay and on the ocean side. Looking forward to a return next year!
