Cripple Creek, Colorado
We are 10 minutes from Cripple Creek with the restaurants, casinos and the new Ice Castle attraction.
The fee shown is for the cabin which has 3 bedrooms - 2 Queens and a King bed. The website automatically bills for our Sleeping Quarters we call a Bunkhouse if you have 7 or more guests at booking. Optionally, the Bunkhouse can be added as a 4th bedroom if guests need separate arrangements. It has two queens... one on main floor and a mini-queen in a open and short loft (more details are below). Non-family groups should keep this in mind (work crews, employer retreats, etc.)... the fee is $100 per night if added as an option. For families, the property will sleep 10 in beds and then we offer a free Cot as well.
We do not allow construction employee housing use, construction work crews to rent the cabin due to prior damages. We do not allow parties or one person to book and others use the property. The booking party is the responsible point of contact and is required to stay at the property for the booking period. We allow 1 dog with the pet fee or maybe two small pups with approval.
The VRBO posted rates here are for the nightly rental of the Cabin. No weddings, ceremonies, receptions or parties are allowed in this booking type. We are a wedding venue so contact us if interested in this use. To safeguard this, we have a view of the exterior and arbor areas via camera.
Our high-altitude Really Blessed Cabin (sitting at 10,200 feet) is a log cabin and property offering spectacular panoramic views of Pikes Peak and it's southern ridges in Colorado's high country above the picturesque Gillette Valley. From outdoor settings overlooking the majestic Pikes' Peak, to the log cabin that reflects the essence of the Rocky Mountains, Really Blessed Cabin helps create a truly "take your breath away" experience. This spectacular view is enjoyed from the interior front wall of vaulted windows, as well as, from the wrap around deck. The setting is dramatic.
LOG CABIN
The interior log cabin, appointed with vaulted, tongue and groove beamed ceiling is an ideal place where your family and guests can come together to celebrate your special day. Accommodations are for up to 6 guests in the main cabin with a king bedroom and two other queen bedrooms. A new groom's bunkhouse, sleeping another 4 guests is available. Other log cabin amenities are wood and slate floors, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, luxurious lighting, wine cooler, granite counters, and tasteful Colorado style decor, including wall mounted Elk antlers. Two full bathrooms round out the log cabin.
Our wood stove will keep you toasty on those chilly Colorado nights. A large 60" HD satellite-fed television with Blu-Ray DVD player, surround-sound system and WIFI are available. An audio cable is available for your music through the outside speakers over the hot tub and deck. Another Blu-Ray player is in the King bedroom for that TV (bring movies). We do have cards, books, and various board games to play during your stay. If there is not an outdoor fire and smoking ban, you may use the outdoor oversized firepit for cooking and ambience.
Our Accessory Bunkhouse -Sleeping Quarters may be added after the fact to a existing reservation at $100 additional per night (plus Vrbo fees). The Bunkhouse will sleep an additional 4 guests in two queen beds. The restrooms in the cabin will need to be shared but we have a water dispenser for coffee, etc. It also has a fold-down dining table, TV with Blu-Ray player, a loft and a wood-stove styled heater. It is ideal for a glamping experience, over-flow sleeping, Artist Studio, etc. We do not allow children under 16 to sleep unattended in the Bunkhouse. For more guests, we also offer our RV or Camper pad with 30 Amp service at $50 per night. There is a drop station available as part of this fee.
Our 5-person hot tub with a waterfall jet and colored lighting sits on the deck where the mountains can be enjoyed or viewing the stars if you take a soak after dark.
Please be accurate with your number of guests as we purchase our water supply or manually deliver it for each guest group. Please keep this in mind by taking short showers, not leaving the water running, using a single towel during your stay, etc. The washing machine is not available to guests. Exceptions will be for longer stays with a water charge.
The home looks up at the SW side of Pikes Peak summit. The summit is roughly 7 miles away and about 4,000 feet higher. The new Summit House Roof on the far right of the top and roadway switchbacks can be seen as well as the Incline Train railway track.
The Cabin sits on a ridge at over 10,000 feet elevation and the views are remarkable. We require Snowy Season use of a 4x4 or AWD with good tire treads (or snow tires). I would suggest being there to check-in at 4 PM during daylight rather than late or middle of the night in case you get lost. We do not pay for towing, etc. If you get stuck please try to move off to the side for other vehicles (neighbors) and you will need to hike up to the cabin. I wouldn't attempt arrival in a blinding snow storm so check the weather if it is questionable. From most of May on through October, 2wd vehicles and motorcycles are fine to climb the ridge.
Our check-out time is 10 a.m. because of the amount of work needing to be done. Our housekeeper is punctual (set an alarm, please). Again, check in time is 4 p.m. The home likely will not be ready until then, but I do recommend arriving close to this time than late at night to avoid being lost (GPS units do not work to the Cabin) or due to weather. Please let us know in advance should you need an early check-in.
It is an easy 10 minute drive to Cripple Creek, 35 minutes to Woodland Park's restaurants, etc., and a beautiful 50 minute drive to Manitou Springs and western Colorado Springs.
We are not Weed (MMJ) friendly, thus, no weed is allowed, neither inside or outside. There is an ashtray for outdoor cigarettes but be aware when a fire ban is in effect outdoor smoking is also banned. Smoking in your car might be your best idea or in a bar in-town. Damages, the smell of smoke, missing or lost items such as pillows (ours are marked), etc., will be charged.
Let me know questions you may have. God bless!

What we loved about this property was the view!! It overlooks Pikes Peak & the property is a perfect mountain cabin. It had everything we needed to cook our meals and enjoy each others company. The closest town is 15 minutes away and had essentials and a few good places to eat. I would come back again just to sit in the hot tub or by the fire and look at the beauty of Colorado. ?
First and foremost this property is exactly as described. 4x4 is a must for the steep climb to the house. I know I see people complaining about not being able to make it up to the house. This is why you should read the property details!!! The house was perfect we cooked Thanksgiving dinner here and had everything we needed, of course I brought my own turkey cooker. Beautiful views from all angles. We will definitely be staying here again.
This property is beautiful and the cabin is lovely. If you're looking for rest and relaxation this is the place. If you're more on the adventurous side, this cabin is well off the beaten path and good hour drive or more to main attractions.
Wonderful home away from home! Home was lovely! Owner was amazing for any problem. View was outstanding! It rained night one and we saw a beautiful double rainbow. Quiet area and amazing hot tub to relax in after a long day of walking! Would stay a million times again.
From the comfort of the couch you'll have views to die for. Amazing property through and through with great owner communication. Highly recommended!
Mat was awesome, easy to talk to and very responsive. This was a trip that my family will never forget. In the Winter make sure you have a 4x4 with good tires as stated in the description. This view is unlike anything you will see elsewhere. This is a must stay and we will be back. Thank you for the great place to make memories with my family.
The property owner does not maintain the property 4 feet snow . Was told to get out and walk at 3 am as( no animals) this was rediculouse as per neighbors there are many animals . I was expected to get out and walk with a 4 year old. When we did get too property again at 3 am we lost electricity more than 5 times.after a long night we all had to get up and try and shovel pathways to get out door and porch and drive . Due to these extreme conditions we worked tirelessly to get off property. We was able to finally get out on Sunday with lots of hard work on our end. The property owner does not maintain this property at all and we was advised would get partial refund but was lied too. I would not recommend
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was clean and peaceful. We eloped here and were able to take some amazing photos. The host left great instructions to help navigate the cabin for our stay. We will definitely be back!
The location was gorgeous, and the cabin was in a beautiful place, the grounds were kept, the amenities were excellent, and overall a great stay! The only negative was the driveway. The owner did make a point to say that during the snowy season you either needed a 4WD, or, an AWD with decent treads, and we brought 3 vehicles (2 4WD trucks customized for offroading, and an AWD Accura with new tires) and on the night of arrival around 9pm, there had been snowfall the day before and the first truck got stuck climbing the mile-long winding uphill driveway because the drive itself is a single-lane dirt path; however, on each side of the single lane drive are what I'd call trenches from water runoff, etc., and in the snow you can't see those and so the first truck was stuck for ~2 hours because the left tires were down in a trench. Later in the week 8-12 fell overnight and late the following afternoon we attempted to get down & back up the driveway with the other truck and while it didn't get pulled into any trenches, the driveway was so steep and the snow was so difficult to get any kind of traction in, that truck got stuck in the middle and slid back down to the bottom; that was another 2.5 hours of solid digging. Now, we totally understand that this is Colorado, it's mountainous and the grades are steep, that's a given, but beware of this driveway if you travel here during snowy conditions. I'd recommend you bring shovels, traction mats (or sand, birdseed, etc.), a tow rope, and if you have a winch, even better! In total we spent nearly 5 hours of our vacation just shoveling portions of their driveway leading to the top/cabin, and that sucked in such high altitude. I don't know what options there are in that neck of the woods but hiring someone with a tractor to blade a path would have been fantastic! That said, the rest of the visit and stay at this cabin was excellent and we would come back and stay again. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the firewood they had prepared for us; they had chopped wood of various sizes in the cabin, stacked, and ready for us. As well, they provided some pinecones and various kindling pieces to get it going and that worked well. We replaced their firestarter/lighter as it was nearly empty when we arrived but we grabbed one at the store and left it for the next visitors. The area is beautiful and serene. We took many beautiful photos of the mountains from the deck. Excluding the driveway, 5 stars!
Family and friends had a great time. The place is as advertised and well kept. One item to be aware of - take pictures when you walk in to document previous damage (including under tissue holders) and take inventory of items under the bathroom sink to prevent after stay charges. The owner was very responsive during our stay but that ended after the additional charges hit our credit card.
My husband and I stayed at Matt's for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time! It was the perfect spot to getaway for a few days and enjoy the scenery.
