12 of us, 4 generations. Plenty of room for all. Did not utilize the neat bar as to far from house and to many steps for grandma. I know cleaning company does not do dishes, but pulled a lot of dirty ones out of cupboard. Started judt washing whatever we needed to use. Overall cleanliness good, but some dusty areas(fan blades) allergies kinda kicked in. Would definitely recomend this place to others. Great time! Thank you.
Had a little glitch with VRBO notifications getting to Steve and Char, but they really went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. Had a great time, made good use of Doolins. Wonderful time again this year, amazing hosts!
This is our 2nd time staying here and it was amazing there was something for everyone to do fishing, shopping and games love the area and the house.
Property was beyond my expectations. Clean and well kept. Beautiful flowers. Good fishing!
Had a great week on Girl Lake! Everything was perfect for our large family with little ones as well. The only downside was there is no swimming at the shoreline, however for us - having the pontoon for use made up for that since we went out several times a day to cruise the lake and float and jump in. Home now and we all miss our time at the lake!
The house was large enough for all 11 of us, and we really enjoyed the front porch. The pontoon boat was wonderful. We really liked Doolin's- it was fun for the entire family, and allowed family members to stay up when little ones were sleeping. Longville is close and has many things to do.
Beautiful home that was perfect for our mid-size family gathering. Plenty of space to spread out. The huge screened-in porch was our favorite. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and spices and a closet full of cooking items (pressure cooker, crockpots, etc) that we made use of. We loved using their new Blackstone Grill on the porch. The game room above the garage was an awesome bonus space. When we arrived, there was only one functional pool cue and two functional darts, but a text to the owners rectified that within a day. The property is huge. We loved the fire pit, bocce set, and cornhole game. We also used their pontoon boat and kayaks plenty. Our only disappointment was it is not possible to swim off their docks due to shallow water and weeds. But we boated and kayaked to places with better swimming.
This is a beautiful property with a wonderful screen porch overlooking a beautiful yard and the lake beyond. Lots of activities-yard games, pontooning, kayaking, paddle boating, hunting for frogs and the rec room was a fun place to be in the evening away from mosquitoes. Would have liked more counter space for preparing meals for 11, but we managed. It was nice being close to town when we ran out of something and the turtle races were very fun for the whole family!
Our deer hunters' group stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed this spacious property. Some extra fun and laughs were had at Doolin's Pub (recreation/game room on the property). Would highly recommend this location for a fun Longville area stay.
We stayed here for a long weekend with 9 adults and 2 preteens. It was wonderful. The house is comfortable and spacious. Plenty of sleeping and gathering space for everyone, and a huge dining table that we all could sit around together for meals. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need for meals. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a perfect spot to drink coffee and watch the sun rise in the morning. It was late October so we were not able to use the boat, but we enjoyed sitting around the fire instead. We had a family event to go to one of our days, so we didn’t have much time to really enjoy the game room, but it’s a great spot! Char was there to meet us when we got there and showed us around. That was really helpful. It’s a very beautiful setting and a really great weekend. We loved it.
Accommodations were amazing, the pictures don’t do it justice. Char met us for check in and gave us a tour of the house and Doolins. She even called around and got us a little extra fishing intel to help us out. Every night after we ate, that’s where we went. Such a great extra place for our group to enjoy some games and watch games on the TV. Everyone agreed that we have to go back. She even checked in with us to make sure there wasn’t anything else we needed during our stay.
Had a great time. Kitchen had everything you could need. Rained but everyone had a great time in the game room. Fishing wasn't great but everyone had fun on the pontoon.
We spent a relaxing, yet fun-filled family vacation with our grown children and grandchildren and couldn't have asked for a more ideal setup. Charlotte and her husband are gracious hosts. Charlotte met us at the property and provided helpful information about our stay, and she quickly responded to a text when a minor issue came up. Everything is here that a large family needs - and we used it all! The kitchen is extremely well-stocked for preparing big meals. Evening cocktail cruises before dinner were a special time spent together, and evenings by the large bonfire area and Doolins were a special treat. There was everything a child, very young or older could want to entertain themselves. The youngest of our group were enthralled with the play areas inside and out, and the basketball hoop and yard games kept the older ones going. Our bed was comfortable and no one had any complaints about sleeping accomodations. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax - the front porch, and screened porch facing the lake were especially enjoyed by all. It's a relatively short drive to the Leech Lake area where we enjoyed shopping, dining and golf. We highly recommend Pine River Stables for horseback riding as well. That was a fun excursion and they allowed kids over 1 to ride with their parents, which most places do not allow. Overall we had a wonderful week together and made some lasting memories. An ideal family vacation to be sure!
We had a large family of 13 from ages 3-73 for a week vacation. Our first time in the Longville area. We had a great time enjoying all the places to gather- back deck, front porch, fire pit, kitchen table, living room, pontoon and of course Doolins. Everything was big enough to for us all! The Coca Cola cooler on the back deck was perfect to hold all our extra large fridge stuff. Tons of kitchen appliances. The kids played for hours on the swings, the sandbox, playroom and puzzles. They also loved catching frogs and watching the ducklings by the docks. A fox visited us 3 days and we enjoyed hearing the loons. Everything was absolutely wonderful! We had fun at the turtle races and took the pontoon to town for ice cream at Frosty’s. The only feedback is the downstairs bathtub was slippery but we got bath mat from the hardware store. Thank you Char and Steve for sharing your place with us!
Amazing spot to have a family gathering! We enjoyed our stay and there was something for everyone here. The game room was a hit for our kids and the kitchen was supplied with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed fishing off the dock as well as the pontoon! Thank you for allowing us to make memories here!
Charlotte's home is perfect for a large group. The house is stocked full of anything you could want since the host lives there full time, but is not there when you are. She gave us a thorough tour when we arrived to ensure we took full use of everything that was there for us to enjoy! The home has so much history with all the family photos on the walls and really makes it feel like a special place! The lake is absolutely beautiful and there are many places to go out and swim since there isn't a beach at the house, which didn't matter to us at all. The Bar is an absolute blast and we enjoyed it almost everyday for a card game or any of the others that are there for your use, definitely a huge plus if there is a bit of weather or just some competitive nature in your group! We would definitely come back for another stay and I think I'd love for Charlotte to join us...she is so nice and from her whole set up seems like a pretty cool gal!!
Very accommodating host! Close to town! Everything you need is included in the home! Perfect for a large family vacation!
