Check out our vacation homes Savannah and you won't want to look back.
One of our coziest Savannah vacation rentals is Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite. This unit is perfect for couples' Georgia vacations or a business trip for a single person. Bird Baldwin Forsyth Suite has one bedroom with a king-sized bed and one bathroom. Like all of our vacation homes Savannah, the location is extremely convenient with private parking on Liberty Street. It is close to all the shopping, the Savannah Coffee Roasters, Mellow Mushroom, and the rest of the historic district.
Step inside the third floor unit of this historic Bird Baldwin House and find yourself charmed by the cozy shades of brown decor. Wood floors complete the look, along with old chest end tables. Settle in the living room while you read or watch shows on the flat-screen TV. The one bedroom also has a TV and fireplace, as well as an oversize chair for sitting. The bathroom features a pedestal sink. The whole unit has plenty of windows to let in the Savannah sunshine. The kitchen gives you all the tools and counter space to prepare your own meals on your vacation. Enjoy warm Savannah evenings out on the deck with two chairs and a table. The unit also features Wi-Fi, central air and heat, plus all necessary appliances and towels.
The best thing about Savannah vacation rentals at Southern Belle is how close they are to everything you want to see. Walking into Forsyth Park is a cinch from the Bird Baldwin house. Once there, you can view the iron fountain made famous by "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and then take a walk around the grounds or even have a picnic. Enjoy the trees draped in Spanish moss and the old southern architecture of historic Savannah. Many visitors say the town has somewhat of a mystique about it and if you're interested in ghosts and the supernatural, then there's even more for you to explore. Take a ghost tour or explore one of the many old cemeteries in the town. The Colonial Cemetery downtown is especially expansive with six acres of graves and memorials.
Other popular destinations in downtown Savannah include the Mercer House and Monterey Square. The house was built in 1860 and played a big role in the ""Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" movie and book. The house is available for tours so you can explore its fascinating history. Make sure to leave some time to visit River Street. This expansive part of downtown is down by the river and hosts a variety of celebrations and festivals every year. It used to be a massive trading area for the town in the 1800s, but now the old warehouses serve as storefronts for boutiques, restaurants, pubs, galleries and much more.
Savannah is always filled with things to do and festivals are a big part. Several different festivals take place during the year, so make sure to ask which ones might be going on during your stay. In the spring you might be able to catch the Savannah Music Festival or Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, PGA Champions Tour. In the summer, you might see the Fourth of July Fireworks on the Beach or the Seafood & Music Festival. Prepare for Oktoberfest in the fall and plenty of Christmas celebrations in the winter.

We loved the location, the parking, the communication, the price, the cleanliness and the size. The refrigerator was too small and a standard size ice tray did not fit in freezer. It’s a little rough around the edges and needs some attention (the ceiling has water stains, many of the blinds needed replaced and the fireplace in bedroom has metal insert and when raining you hear drumming on insert). We had a great weekend and would stay here again even with these few issues.
Very well maintained. Everything we were looking for.
We love historic, walkable and lively places, so we felt like we hit the jackpot the moment we arrived at the Bird Baldwin House! This well-maintained, 185-year old property is located in walking distance to the attractions, restaurants and services of Savannah’s Historic District, including a coffee-breakfast-lunch place and Italian deli/restaurant right next door. If you have a vehicle, the property has free parking on-site and easy access to regional highway connections. Southern Belle (offsite property manager) has first-rate customer service with clear and frequent communications by email and text and gave timely responses to all of our inquiries. Practical matters: One could definitely get by without a car, but it does come in handy for access to full-service groceries and a laundry/dry-clean service about a mile away, and for exploring other parts of Savannah and the larger region. As I mentioned above, the building is 185 years old, so it has no elevator and makes creaky noises you can expect from old homes with wooden floorboards. You’re staying in the middle of a busy and very popular area, so expect street noise and occasional tourist crowds into the late night/early morning hours. The unit has been refitted with central heat and A/C, but the windows couldn’t be opened for fresh air when we wanted it. We would definitely recommend this place to others and stay here or other Southern Belle properties again!
We enjoyed a long weekend in Savannah for our 30th Anniversary. The rental was clean and just enough room. Convenient location to everything.
The property was lovely. The third floor was a hike with suitcases but looks just like the picture. Should have been able to check in at 4 but couldn’t until 6 or so because they were a little behind but that was fine we just stayed out shopping a little longer.
We walked everywhere because restaurants were so close . Loved the location too because we were close to the parks . We will be back !
My whole experience was great.
Our rental was very nice. Nice to have a parking spot. All amenities worked well. It was clean. We would stay there again.
Loved the location and ease of checking in , manager checked on us and made us feel welcome . Walking distance to any restaurants and squares .
The unit looks just like the pictures--except that individual slats of the shutters are broken in numerous places and we were worried that we would be blamed for it. Also there is a freshly patched hole in the kitchen wall. It looks like they removed a washer/ dryer from the unit recently. I HATE how VRBO gives you a nightly rate and then adds on a zillion fees. I wish the rates were adverstised in a more straightforward way.
We loved everything about the bird Baldwin house. It was in the perfect location to explore both Forsyth park and the river walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
After our check in issue we had a wonderful stay. The check in process was not as it was stated in the check instructions given to us. There was a key pad that had been installed and they had not changed there instructions stating that. We waited outside at midnight for 4o minutes trying to get in and then waiting for an answer back from our text. That was a bit unsettling. We also had to help another couple get in two days later as the instructions given to them were still not updated. It also listed ( and had pictures) that there was a coffee pot , so we brought coffee and filters. It was in fact a keuring. Besides those issues the place itself was spotless and in a perfect location. We loved our stay there.
Location was a 15 min walk to river st but I found the location to still be fantastic! the best coffee shop is next door with tons of options that are affordable. The parking saved money and Tim. It was a stress free weekend. I don't know how I missed that it was on the third floor of the home but that didn't bother us. If you don't do steps, don't stay here. otherwise, it was perfect!
Great location - perfect for walking everywhere. Beautiful amenities as well. The only negative is that it is on a busy/ loud street in the early morning. It would stay here again.
Perfectly located so you can walk to everything. Property was clean and comfortable.
Pros: -Great location -Check in/check out process was super simple -Dedicated parking was great -Property was clean -They checked in with us on our first day to make sure there were no maintenance issues which was nice. Cons: -The bedroom is off a busy/loud street. You could hear every single person walk by, ambulances, etc. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't sleep there. -The water in the shower doesn't get very hot. -There is no bathtub. The description says The bathroom features a pedestal sink and nostalgic bathtub with a ledge. but there is just a shower. -There's a large part of the wall that's spackled, not painted and it's an awkward space off the kitchen where the washer/dryer hook up is. There is no washer/dryer in the property. Overall, I know there's only so much a property manager can control so I don't want to discredit any of the pros, but think it's important for people to know some of our feedback. Thank you!
Loved that I didn’t have to drive once at the property. It was 11 to 12 minute walk to downtown & Riverfront. Lots of dining choices to walk too.
Great location. Perfect place for two (and pet friendly!) to spend a week to explore the city. Maybe a bit noisy from road, but not a big deal… as it just serves to remind of the perfect spot. Room amenities all worked well… balcony was a plus. And parking behind house was wonderful. The price was very reasonable. Would do this one again!
