Our Little House on the Prairie home is located on the picturesque North Fork of Long Island in the peaceful hamlet of Orient with wildlife including deer, hawks, turkeys and rabbits. This quaint property offers a comfortable and cozy stay for guests with front and back covered patios, a Weber gas grill, patio furniture, fire table, central air conditioning, dishwasher, washer/dryer, Netflix, and WiFi. Less than 1 mile from both Sound and Bay beaches which have spectacular views. Home is located 3 miles from Orient State Beach, a 350 acre peninsula with 10 miles of beach front and the Cross Sound Ferry to Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods and Mystic Seaport, CT. 5 miles from the historic harbor village of Greenport featuring unique shops, & boutiques, delicious restaurants, ice cream shops, museum, movie theater, antique carousal, Island Ends Golf Course and the ferry to Shelter Island. The house was just perfect for the four of us. Huge property with deer walking on the grounds sets a beautiful atmosphere of nature. House itself fully stocked for everything you need. Great A/C. Washer dryer, fully stocked kitchen. Orient location close to everything. Will definitely return soon.

House was clean and well setup for a summer trip to North Fork. Communication with host was a bit challenging however, resulting in some inconveniences during stay and misaligned expectations at check out.

I summered in Orient as a child and this stay was like going back in time. The bird life is wonderful, and deer and wild turkeys roamed the property in early dawn and at twilight. Nights were quiet and the days were peaceful, spent biking around the Orient hamlet, walking along Hallocks Pond and wondering the stone beaches. The house is sweet, clean, cozy with great hosts. Hope to return in the near future!
