Boulder, Colorado
Perfect Boulder location! Close to CU, Chataqua trails, the Hill, and downtown. Recently renovated gourmet kitchen and living spaces. Separate large bath suites. Large covered patio with large flatscreen outdoor TV, BBQ, and gardens. Close to CU (walk to the stadium), the Boulder bike path, the hill, downtown, and the best hiking trails in Boulder.
Our group loved this house for our annual college friends get together. The location is amazing (can walk everywhere) and it has some fun little things like an outdoor tv. We will stay here again for sure.
Family stay to visit CU was made super convenient by staying here. Clean house with all the amenities you’ll need. 2/3 bedrooms are in the basement & connected so best for families vs a couple couples. Would def stay here again! Thanks Don!
Our host was very friendly and responsive to our inquiries and requests. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance to Chataqua Park, the CU campus and The Hill. The Pearl Street mall is not far. The layout worked for our purposes. With my wife and I sleeping on the main level and our daughter and granddaughter sleeping in the basement. The downstairs bedrooms, bath and living area are more than adequate. There is a small bedroom on the ground floor (the main living area). There is a walk-through from the bedroom to a sitting room which serves as a dressing room with a chest of drawers and a large vanity area with a large bench. The sitting room and the bedroom each have a small closet. The bedroom and sitting area work well together. The sitting area also contains a swamp cooler that is used to cool the house. The swamp cooler was no match for the very warm conditions (90+ degrees) we experienced during our stay. The indoor afternoon and evening temperatures reached an uncomfortable 80 degrees on several days. The details noted on the VRBO website indicate the house is air-conditioned. I was surprised to find only a swamp cooler in one room. The host was very responsive when I contacted him with my concern about the air conditioning. He immediately brought over a freestanding evaporative cooler to help cool the living area. While I very much appreciated his effort, I feel the information on the VRBO website regarding the air conditioning is misleading.
This a nicely renovated Craftsman style house that was built in the 1920s. It has charm of an older home, including a comfortable front porch and attractive woodwork in the front rooms. It also has a developed sheltered backyard garden space. The University Hill neighborhood is great. One can walk to the Chautauqua trails as well as down to the Pearl Street section of downtown or to the university. The kitchen is large and well equipped. We were able to cook and bake to contribute food to potluck family reunion gatherings in the Boulder area. Our week included several days in the high 90s and we were surprised that the Vrbo description of air conditioning was actually an evaporative cooler in one window. When closed up during the day, the house retained the evening coolness. Our host Don was communicative and helpful. We would certainly consider a return booking if we were back in the Boulder area.
All the essentials plus front porch for reading and big backyard for us and a dog
nice big updated older house. Close to the hill' district restaurants and bars - and Campus. Would stay here again if we are in Boulder again.
Don’s house was perfect for our multi-generational family weekend celebration graduation from CU. Comfortable beds, great kitchen and backyard. Thanks!
