Host was super helpful. Place is cozy and the view is breathtaking. Plush towels, even snacks. Instructions were super helpful so we brought groceries and had offline directions to get there. We also went to Hiwassee Dam which is right past the development. I had seen reviews about the firm mattresses, we all actually felt great after sleeping on firmer mattresses than we have at home.

Very nice place. Driveway short, a little steep and if wet could be difficult to get in and out of. Parking area is good. Parking in the street is questionable due to street being narrow. The house is roomy and well furnished. Host was responsive to inquiries.

The owner Nancy was wonderful and her home is a beautiful space. Make sure that you definitely go to the grocery store or eat before you head to the house as it is about a 30 minute drive back into town. The neighborhood and house were wonderful though and absolutely worth the drive.

Most of the time, when you see charming in a description of a home, it means small. However, this was NOT the case with this home! It was very spacious and well stocked to accommodate all of our needs! I used the kitchen to prepare meals, as well as refreshments for my son's wedding reception. I had everything I needed to be able to prepare the food items I brought. The huge deck out back was a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast as well as a sunset cocktail. Its a great place to stay in Murphy NC! And Nancy is an attentive host!

Charming little home tucked away in the mountains. Good communication with owner. Only problem was there were a lot of bugs inside and mold. By the last day, my son’s nose wouldn’t stop running. Also, the beds were very very firm. The house was stocked with anything we needed. Made it feel very homey.

We loved our stay at this house! We’ve been to Bear Paw several times before and this was our favorite place we’ve stayed. Clean and comfortable with great views of the sunset.

We were caught by the photos and views of the house. Our actual experience went above and beyond the portrait of this home. The home itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen and pantry basics well stocked. We were looking forward to spending Christmas together in a peaceful place. What we didn’t expect was Christmas decorations, a tree and lights, which were simple, warm and inviting. There was room on the tree for us to add small ornaments we each had brought to make the place festive. It was very thoughtful of the host to provide this for the season.Nancy was responsive to every request and offered excellent advice for shopping on the way. The directions given to the house made it easy to find even in the dark. The lights were turned on so that we could enter the house and feel welcomed right from the start. One of the first things we did was make tea and go out to the deck to see the stars. Without street lights it is an amazing display of stars. There was space enough for more than one activity going on without disturbing the others. It was great for watching movies. We were able to cook our meals, go for walks in the neighborhood and find our way around the area to local sights. It was wonderful to have such a fine place to return to after being out. And even with all that, Nancy was sincerely wanting to know how to make it better for the next people or for our next stay. It is definitely a place we would visit again, winter or any season.
