We loved Casa Vida. Robert was an excellent and communicative host. Property was neat and clean, even better than we expected. Gorgeous stained glass window in master bedroom! We loved the outdoor seating areas. It is a great place to use as a base for touring the Big Bend region. It is also a nice place to just chill and relax.

Overall impression very relaxing, felt like home. The owner was extremely friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much! Got away from the floods of Kerrville, just what we needed.

Great location in an area of Alpine that is close to everything. Its a home not a house, great outdoor seating areas and just the right size for my family.Hung out outside and admired the views and the desert fauna and rocks. Its kind of like a snippet of Alpine and the surrounding area in the backyard.

This home was a wonderful example of southwestern living from the past with more modern conveniences. Decor is beautiful as pictured when we were looking for a place to stay for 10 days in Alpine. The yard is spacious with plenty of seating options so we were able to stay cool enjoying the breeze even with temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s. Even the house stayed comfortable with the heat.

We were 2 couples and the house was perfect for us. The yard was lovely. We had lunch in the garden one afternoon, when our friends joined us to tour Alpine. We would not stay there in the summer months as the AC would not be adequate. We were there March 24 - 28. The weather was perfect to have the windows open. We would stay there again.

The property was so cutely decorated. I love all the Talavera pottery items. There were three of us so we had plenty of room and privacy. We enjoyed Alpine and went on day trips to Big Bend, Fort Davis and Macdonald Observatory We would for sure stay here again. Very reasonable rates

Spent a weekend in Alpine to visit with some family and enjoyed this home so much. It is decorated with thoughtful touches & we didn’t want for anything! The house is also centrally located to everything, but my favorite part is the outdoor space. It is a great place to sit under tge West Texas sky at night or in the morning with a cup of coffee. We will definitely return.

The location wasn’t what we had expected but we found our stay to be comfortable and the house roomy enough for two couples.

Romantic! One of the many things that make this property so uniquely enjoyable is the absolute privacy—a beautiful weathered fence surrounds the periphery of the backyard. The master bedroom has double french doors that open onto a laid stone patio that is enclosed by a coyote fence, making the patio completely private—a great sunny place to have morning coffee in your robe and slippers. Located at the edge of the center of town makes it very walkable. We found this house and property to be exceedingly romantic with nicely appointed rooms in western/craftsman style, comfortable mattresses and pillows, screened windows that open easily and ceiling fans, a fully equipped airy kitchen and clean laundry facilities. Located in an extremely quiet neighborhood, this house also has a large cactus garden with many varieties that give the property a Southwestern ranch landscape feel. For us this place was the type of house I always hope for but generally can’t find. Robert the owner was great and the only major drawback I found was we had to leave and reenter day to day reality. Casa Vida is a real gem with a nice dose of magic.
