Stayed Apr 17, 2024My friend and I stayed at Casa Sunbreak on a recent road trip loop through Baja Sur and absolutely loved it! The pictures and description made us choose it, and the real life experience made us love it! The location is perfect. A bit of a walk to the Malecon, but easy to drive and park in that area if preferred or a grab a taxi. There are so many cool local markets are in the area. Our host was extremely helpful upon check in and available if we had any needs throughout our stay. Everything is well thought out and the home is extremely comfortable. It was pretty hot while in town, so the pool was a great place to relieve the legs and the AC was a wonderful way to get a good nights sleep. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped. Truly a great place to explore La Paz.

Stayed Jan 16, 2026Casa Sunbreak is a gem, beautifully curated with every manner of delightful prints, art, fabrics, pottery and furnishings. Allison is a gracious, attentive and fun hostess that we wished we could have spent more time with. The location is perfect, just a short taxi or Uber from the restaurants and beaches along the Malecon, but in a quiet residential neighborhood. We only had two, action packed days there so never got to use the little pool (the weather was really too cold anyway), or to cook a meal in the really functional kitchen. We were sorry to leave and happy to give five stars in all respects.

Stayed Dec 20, 2025You'll enjoy a cozy example of classic Mexican architecture and furnishings at Casa Sunbreak. There are very nice pieces of art and other decor representing artists of the local area, and the history of greater Baja as well. The mini library is full of informative guides, classic literature, and other interesting reading material. For those that might spend some time at your home away from home, it's most enjoyable in this regard - and don't forget about the zippy wifi either! We made ourselves at home since the kitchen, dining room and laundry area are all fully functional, clean and easy to use. The pool was great on the hottest day we were there, a luxurious amenity.Located in Zona Central, it's a straight walk down Marquez de Leon to the boardwalk on the bay (known as the Malecon). Once there, you'll have plenty of options to spend your days. Restaurants, boat tours, bike rentals, or head up to one of the nearby beaches. Take a detour up Independencia street to some of the art shops and bookstores. Excellent local art prints and small sculptures are all over, many created by locals. If you don't see something you're looking for, ask the proprietors, they are friendly and an excellent resource.Allison lives next door and is there to help with anything you need. If you're from the U.S., so is she so you have a new friend in La Paz from day one.

Stayed May 8, 2025It’s rare that I say this property truly exceeded our families expectations. It is a beautiful setup, well furnished and surrounded by activities and amazing eats. The communication was very easy, quick and transparent. It really felt like staying with friends, and I cannot recommend this property enough.Alison made sure to furnish the property with items for our one year old which made things so much easier. Additionally there is everything you need for the beach in house. We also found 4 amazing restaurants within walking distance of the house, some even a few houses away. Book it, you really won’t regret it.

Stayed Feb 19, 2025This casita is a beautiful retreat to enjoy La Paz! We stayed for two weeks. It was spotlessly clean. It's even prettier than the lovely pictures, with art from local artists and just a lovely feel. It's a very inviting place to relax after a day of exploring. The beds are very comfortable - as others have noted the smaller bed is a bit firmer but even our sensitive person was very comfortable.Check-in was flexible and friendly. The owner, Allison, lives on the same block, just across one of the walls around the property, so it's very easy to get help with anything. She gives great recommendations, such as the restaurant Xolo two doors down. We had a few maintenance needs (things that happen anywhere) and she was super prompt in getting everything resolved. She has a backup person that made everything seamless. The kitchen has everything you might need - again, all very clean. The little pool is maintained weekly. The location is in a residential area, so doesn't have the loudness and constant traffic of the Malecón. The street isn't an arterial but does have occasional trucks. I heard nothing at night with the AC on. It's a pleasant walk to the museums and great coffee (try Reyna la Casa) or the Malecón and great food around the Jardín Velasco, and it's an even quicker drive or cheap taxi ride. There really is a fruit and veggie stand across the street - so convenient and friendly. Also try local deli Firy Faina, on the walk to the whale museum.Thank you Allison!!

Stayed Oct 21, 2024The location was perfect, a short drive to the malecon or easy walk, plenty of restaurants, authentic home and decorating with a welcoming host. Definitely recommend for those wanting the opposite of an “all-inclusive” experience.

Stayed Aug 13, 2024Great stay at CasaSunbreak. Everything you need is there: purified water in good supply; a big bag of coffee; excellent a/c; thick, large towels; dish soap; books. Lovely art work throughout the house. Neighborhood has easy access to DiDi (local Uber equivalent). Allison lives on site and is helpful with any questions. Also had good recommendations for transportation from SJD and a local rental car company. A fantastic time diving in La Paz.

Stayed Jun 23, 2024Casa Sunbreak is a beautiful house. The property is homey and tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything one might need, from a washing machine to plenty of board games (and MAGNA-tiles!). All rooms have an AC, and the small but pretty pool was a life safer on hot days. Allison is a wonderful host. She is very accommodating, and pays attention to detail. For example, she offers beach equipment, a baby bed, and extra blankets. She lives near by and is always available if help is needed, and can share insider tips about the area. In short, Casa Sunbreak offers a delightful blend of comfort, convenience, and personalized hospitality, making it a truly memorable vacation retreat.
