Stayed Dec 27, 2019Marlon was great! Changed arrival date on just a couple days notice because we couldn’t get a car rental on the scheduled days. House exactly as advertised.

Stayed Aug 12, 2017Casa Natural View is in a great location to visit Rio Celeste, Llanos del Cortes, and the hot springs in the area. Our family of five (including three young adults) was very comfortable at Marlon's home. The home is clean, well equipped, and he told us to help ourselves to the cereal, coffee, spices . . . The views from the wrap around porch are amazing. We sat for hours looking at the birds coming to visit his large feeder all against a volcano backdrop. Marlon has landscaped the property to shield out the road and all neighbors though you can hear the cows and chickens next door which adds to the charm of the home. He is very helpful in suggesting things to do and providing a guide service if requested. Rio Celeste is a must see. We went to the hot springs in the area and paid around $7 USD pp instead of the $30-$50 pp around Arenal. Walked the trails at Casa Tenorio just up the road from Marlon's place and saw four sloths.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This home was ideal for us. We were very close to some great bird watching locations. The owner was there to meet us and gave us some tips on places to visit in the area. The rooms were all very clean and the grounds were beautiful. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodations. The kitchen was equipped with a 3 burner portable stove which was adequate for us. There were several spices and kitchen extras on hand and fresh fruit was delivered to us and the birds.

Stayed Jan 18, 2017My wife and I stayed at Casa Natural View for one week in January and it was just splendid. The house was the best equipped (even a new toaster which is a complete rarity in CR) we have stayed at, very clean and spacious with various sitting areas outside and in and wonderful bedroom with a great view of the garden. The garden was full of birds, toucans and tanagers - many many different birds in addition to our favourite chicken who slept in the hibiscus hedge! The house is situated on a typical rocky CR road but is not too far from pavement - no need for a 4x4. With the roosters and cows you feel like you're in the middle of a farm, but with lots of privacy. The nearby town of Bihagua has everything from a super market and other fruit and meat stores to a bank, drugstore, etc. Finally, the best thing about the house is the owner, Marlon Calderon Brenes, who really looked after us. Marlon is also a guide and knows the area very well. All in all, we recommend very highly both the house and Marlon as a guide (the nearby Rio Celeste for example). A completely lovely visit.
