Our stay at Casa Candelilla exceeded our expectations in every way! Beautifully and carefully decorated with folk art, comfy beds, great pillows and linens and a well stocked kitchen with both Keurig and regular coffee makers. The outdoor sitting areas and xeriscaped yard we especially enjoyed! The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Parking was only a few steps from the back door. The full bath plus half bath worked well for two birding companions. Dining out was memorable at Reata-which was 3 minutes away down quiet neighborhood streets. Can hardly wait to come back!
Very nice
This VRBO is perfection down to the last detail. Ideally located close to downtown Alpine and a perfect base for our adventures to the Big Bend parks and the Davis Mountains. The surrounding garden is filled with gorgeous flowers and songbirds! Home is very comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked with premium cookware and utensils. We hope to visit again soon!
VERY CLEAN AND WELL MANAGED
This house is well-appointed, beautiful and located in a quiet neighborhood near the main intersection in town. The garden and seating area outside invite you to relax and enjoy listening to the birds or if you're up early, watching the deer that roam through the neighborhood. Inside, the house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. A record collection is available if you want to listen to music the old-school way. It's a great place to escape the fast pace of life to. We plan to return again.
We would definitely stay here again. This is a comfortable, clean home with comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen. Centrally located in town. We enjoyed the artwork and the way the home was thoughtfully decorated. The yard was private with several comfortable seating areas - perfect for appetizers and a glass of wine. Another bonus was the bird feeders and the chance to see some local bird species. The owner Kathleen was friendly and quickly responded to messages. We look forward to coming back!
Easy rental process, warm and lovely home. A great place to stay when in Alpine.
Kathleen has thought of everything to make this your home away from home while in Alpine. The kitchen is fully stocked. The beds are luxurious and the furnishings through out the house are perfect. We especially enjoyed the turntable and the vintage LP collection. Also, the sunrise as seen through the kitchen windows can't be missed! We plan to return here often! Thank you.
We stayed for 4 nights and spent our days touring places in the area. Coming back to the house at the end of the day was like a warm hug. Very comfortable accommodations . The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Would like to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy the yard and the outdoor fireplace.
Gorgeous Alpine property with everything you need to enjoy your stay!
We needed few days to relax before we move on with our travels and the place was just what we needed. Has a good location : short distance to Marfa, Fort Davis and McDonald's Observatory. The amenities were amazing! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Kathleen is a wonderful host who made our stay very special.
We had a fantastic time! The house is charming and cozy and the yard is emaculate and beautiful. We had all we needed and more than we expected. The owners Tom and Kathleen are excellent host and we enjoyed visiting with them. We will definitely refer our friends and family.
In summary, an amazing property. I would say Kathleen has thought of everything. We enjoyed the garden every morning and evening. The kitchen is fully stocked and all of the personal touches make you feel like you are home. Thank you so much Kathleen and hope to see you again as we hope to get back!
Stayed over a week to relax. Good location. Renovated home with beautiful hardwood floors, comfortable beds and baths and lovely garden area. Thank you.
This property is filled with quaint charm and cultural ambiance, perfect for its location and intent. Owners are nearby and come to fill bird feeders and water plants on a regular basis, always notifying guests of their intent. They too are charming and very efficient. This is a bargain and we highly recommend it.
It's a lovely UPDATED craftsman style inside adobe look outside older home. EVERYTHING is very nice and comfortable. All of the necessities are there and the owners are very close by and responsive. We had 2 couples - one set in the master queen bed and the other couple in the room with 2 single beds. All beds were very comfortable. Main full bath is in the hallway with easy access to both bedrooms. Master has the half bath. Our original rental had to cancel at last minute due to plumbing issues and we were able to rent this the day before we came to Alpine. Kathleen responded almost immediately to our inquiry and was wonderful to work with. Easy 3-5 minute drive to most venues in Alpine - you could probably walk if the weather is a little cooler! We felt very safe and secure. We will defiantly consider using this property again.
It was absolutely amazing, well stocked , a home away from home, literally an oasis. Quite and peaceful so very relaxing.
I LOVE this home! It’s perfect for couples and children. Kathleen is a super host. She had everything ready when I arrived. I had a few travel issues and she was quick to respond and communicate. The garden spaces are wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon sunset drinks. It’s the perfect distance to Marfa or Big Bend. My bed was comfy. The home is tastefully decorated. Tiny touches are all over that make you feel at home. The kitchen was well stocked. The bird feeders were full and birdwatching was so relaxing. Even in the heat of summer is was cool with the AC and shaded areas outside made it wonderful. I would not change a thing and plan on returning!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Kathleen and Thomas’s house. Everything we needed was available, great location and spotless!!! Would definitely stay here again!!!
This was the perfect location for our Big Bend and McDonald Observatory adventures. The city is between both great places and has restaurants, grocery, gas, etc. We loved the porch with so many birds around, deer walking the streets at night, and very comfortable home with all the kitchen things you could ever need (including Keurig and Coffee Marker). The hosts even had maps for local places and were great for planning our hikes in Big Bend. Thank you again and we'll be back.
Everything was very clean and very new. I’m guessing the house hasn’t been short-term rented for long as the house feels like it was head-to-toe renovated a couple weeks ago. The house is very tastefully decorated in colorful local art that matches the spirit of the house. The only constructive criticism I’d offer is that I prefer more minimally appointed vacation rentals—when every surface has multiple pieces of decor, it makes scanning rooms for your stuff at check out time more difficult (but again, it’s all very tastefully done).
Kathleen, Me & my friends had a great time at your property. Thanks for providing us with basic stuffs and amenities in advance. We will surely be visiting it once again soon.
