The Carter house has a lot of charm and character. Gas lanterns adorn either side of the beautiful front door, upon entering you are greeted with elegance beginning with a crystal chandelier that drops through the ceiling from the cozy library upstairs. Stayed Jun 9, 2026The house is very clean and everything is labeled so it’s easy to find your way around. The location is perfect and the museum across the street has great shopping, games and coffee. The only thing that came as a surprise to us, was the lack of privacy in the home. There aren’t any doors on the two main rooms because they open up to the spiral staircase. We were staying with family so it worked for us.

Stayed Sep 5, 2024The house was very nice and clean. Check-in was smooth also. We didn't have quite enough sleeping space so 2 people slept on the couch which was less than perfect, but it worked. The museum across the street was a surprise bonus. Very enjoyable. Overall a very pleasant experience.
