Carolina Dreaming Luxury Oceanfront Home w/ Private Pool, 6 Bedrooms / 4 Bathrooms

We had a great stay. The house was very nice. I do think there are a few things that need upgraded such as a bigger refrigerator, new cushions for the outside sitting areas and also the pool sitting area and lighting need fixed. We had a few minor problems but the plumber Joseph and the carpenter Campbell came to help and they both were very kind and really cared about making the place comfortable for us. This is a great house , in a great location. We had a great stay.

We enjoyed our trip together as a family; however, we were very disappointed in the house's condition. We felt as if it were a bait and switch. The home itself is not well maintained. When we arrived at the house on July 16, 2022, at 4:00 pm, it appeared that no one had cleaned the house. The kitchen floor was covered in crumbs, the appliances were dirty, and cheerios were all over the table. In addition, the bedroom with the bunk beds had ants, and TVs were left on in all the rooms. I contacted Proactive Vacation housekeeping, and they sent someone over who sprayed for the ants and did a quick wipe down the kitchen. However, this was not enough; we had to clean the kitchen ourselves, and the bunk room had ants crawling on the lower left bunk all week. We also noticed in the kitchen ceiling that it appeared that a previous leak was fixed and that mold was growing on the ceiling. On Monday, we had some rain, and we noticed that the kitchen ceiling was getting wet; and as the drywall repair began to fail, you could see more black mold. In the corner of the kitchen, we also noticed a nice size area of black mold. We took pictures for proof if anyone would like to see the images for evidence. I pointed out the mold to the Proactive Vacations representative and was told that the ceiling was fixed three months ago. He did not acknowledge my concerns regarding the mold. Additionally, something was leaking over the front door, leaving a lovely mess. Once again, I contacted Proactive Vacations, and they sent someone over to look at the house. The gentleman quickly decided it was something to do with the air condition causing the leak over the front entrance. So, he turned the air conditioner up to keep it from running on a day that feel like a temperature of 109. Later that day, two other men stopped in to check on the leak and air conditioner and went into the attic. They said it was not the air conditioner, and the house had some big issues that needed to be corrected. It is very disheartening that after a year of planning the trip, my family walked into such a hot mess. What is alarming is that the house was rented with mold growing on the ceiling!

We loved the double decks overlooking the beach. House could definitely have been cleaner.

Wonderful outdoor space, excellent location on beach and island. Great use of living space - 2 couch areas and enough table space. Minor inconveniences - no shelves in 2 of the showers (we did find a shower caddy in a closet on Thursday), no garbage disposal, no lock on the main level bathroom (which created more than 1 embarrassing situation!).

Having stayed in many rental homes, and the service for this one was subpar. There was no personal touch, agency managed. We had to bring our own towels, many kitchen supplies, garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels. The point of a rental is to not have to bring so much stuff with us. Then we arrived 10 minutes early and were reprimanded for arriving early. The main bathroom doesn't lock. One of the bedrooms has sliding barn doors offering little silence or privacy. No extra sheets were included for the pull out couch. The windows didn't open well to allow the ocean sounds into the house. The hot water ran out with a house full of people. The overall structure and location were decent, but the details were disappointing.
