Stayed Mar 8, 2020The house at Olla de Pachuko was a wonderful place for a family vacation. We were fortunate enough to visit in early March- a family of 5 had more than enough space to enjoy. The breezes of the time of year were glorious, we could sleep with windows open for the most part, but did use AC a couple of nights which worked spectacularly. (No issues with biting insects) The house is amazing and was even better in person than these beautiful pictures show. It is filled with details and artworks in every corner, sure to bring a smile - all the beds were comfortable and clean, and should mention that the wifi was flawless with no issues handling multiple users at once. Carlos was an amazing host, who answered every call or text in a timely and efficient manner - both prior to our arrival and all during our stay. His attention to detail made us feel well cared for and comfortable, and numerous times went out of his way to enhance our experience of the area. We would also like to recognize the services of Betsy who daily helped with meals and clean up; who kept the living spaces clean, swept and tidy; and who on a memorable occasion accompanied my husband to the local market to facilitate purchasing fish which she cooked up for a fantastic dinner that night! Thank you Betsy! All in all was a fantastic and memorable trip, and we hope to return in the future with more extended family to enjoy this special place. Thank you Carlos for making our stay restfull and problem free. Our best to you and your family!

Stayed Dec 25, 2019We spent 6 days on this lovely property with 3 families over the Christmas holidays. It was a 2.45hr drive from the airport without traffic, with some potholes, but it was worth it. We travelled with young children (6yr olds, 8mth old & 10yr old) and this property was perfect for us. The water is very shallow so we were fine letting the kids play in the water on their own. I know in some of the reviews the wind seemed to be an issue, but we enjoyed it. It was very pleasant since it made the temperature/humidity bearable. Make sure to bring water shoes as there are fun places to explore like the reefs. We had access to the paddle board & kayak which we loved. We did a couple morning runs into Palenque and the people were very friendly. Carlos was very hospitable. Good communication throughout. Helped us with groceries, directions, tours, etc. He even set us up with a cook and housekeeper. This was the highlight since we didn't have to worry about meals and cleaning for so many people. The food was delicious. Malaquias the grounds keeper is amazing as well. He did all the BBQing, maintenance and even got us some coconuts. Make sure to buy all your groceries and alcohol before getting to the villa as the nearby stories have very limited options. Another highlight was the walking tour Carlos set us up on. We all loved the secluded beach/forest area about 25min drive away near Playa Chiquita that we hiked through. We walked through the village where the yearly Tribal Gathering occurs which was interesting to see. The beaches were so beautiful and the views are stunning. As a side note, you will see a lot of trash washed up along some of the shoreline which breaks your heart. Near the villa we were able to walk along the water to explore the area. There are other options for tours like horseback riding, San Blas island etc. Thank you Carlos for such a wonderful and memorable getaway. Each one of us had a fantastic time. We highly recommend staying here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Four unforgettable days with our Family from Canada and Ireland. If there is a way to rate the staff they don't deserve 10, they deserve 100. They were devoted to us the entire time we were there. As for the owner, no words to thank Don Carlos. Always concerned that all was working and that everything was working. The only complaint we had was the strong winds which followed us from Canada (sob, sob). We couldnt use the kayak nor the paddle board. We will be back Casa Mia en la Olla de Pachuco. Hasta pronto. Maybe in September to do some fishing and cross over to San Blas

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at Casa Mia for four glorious days. We regret the stay was so short. The owner was so accomodating. He even offered to get our groceries if we wanted before we got there. You can arrive to Panana and he can arrange transportation to get you to his place ad take you back to the airport. His staff. I would rate then at the top f five (5) stars.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I can´t express how unique this place is. I agree with every word from previous reviwers. The employees of the house were incredibly friendly and helpful and added to the overall wonderful experience. They cooked unforgettable meals for us. The only caveat is the wind in Planeque. It seems that in Panama summer time (Dec- March) it is always extremely windy and you cannot snorkel neither take a boat. We will try to come back in 2015 but definitively in a more friendly station

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We visited the house with two families (4 adults, 5 children ages 7-15) and had an amazing time. The owner was extremely helpful and went well beyond what was expected. The employees of the house were also friendly and helpful and added to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend the option of having them cook for you. The food was great. I have never felt so taken care of. The house has a great layout and everything worked. From the house we spent hours exploring the reef, above and below the water, walked to nearby beaches, went on excursions looking for monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. A high clearance 4X4 is required if you plan to travel further east past the Cuango River, and high clearance is required if you plan on going on any wildlife excursions. We also went to the San Blas Islands for a week and left from Miramar. The owner of the house helped arrange safe and reliable transport, although it was quite the ride. Generally this house was a great combination of a travel experience while also providing a relaxing vacation. I highly recommend this house for those who like unique experiences and off the main tourist routes. Thanks again to all involved.
