Captivating Sunlight Cottage

It was sunny and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location for visiting Jedediah Smith park and Harris beach. Great tide pools close by at Chetco as well.

We stayed at the captivating sunlight cottage during the 4th of July weekend and were very happy! It was a wonderful, quaint, cozy home in downtown Brookings. Several food options and local shopping was within close walking distance.

Very nice place

The cottage was extremely clean. It is located in a commercial area, but since we were there for a seminar and were gone all day, that made it perfect. It felt very safe and was quiet in the evening and for sleeping. The beds were comfortable, fairly firm, but seemed new. The only suggestion I would make is blackout curtains. Since it’s a commercial area there are streetlights and pretty bright all night. Fortunately we had a light blanket to cover the window with. We didn’t do any cooking so I can’t comment on the kitchen, except that it was very clean.

This cottage was cute & comfy. Not far from the coast, restaurants & activities. Would definitely rent again.

Sunlight Cottage was adorable! It reminded me of our first home’s charm. The beds and sofa were super comfy. It was an easy quick process to get the keys. Brookings is a great little town. We spent all day exploring Samuel Boardman stops and felt relaxed at Sunlight Cottage in the evenings.

Captivating Sunlight Cottage was clean and orderly. We did not cook during our stay, but the kitchen would have accommodated full meal prep. The lid on the coffee pot is attached askew and caused hot coffee to pour out on the counter and the person pouring it. Future renters would appreciate information about how to use the heater. The unit included a binder, though it could use updated information, for instance, what is expected of the renters upon checkout. I emailed with the host a few times and he responded, but ignored one question - with a request, he answered that question. We would stay at this property again.

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming VRBO in Brookings, OR. The space was clean, cozy, and full of character—ideal for a relaxing coastal escape. But what truly made it shine was the unbeatable location. Just steps away from great restaurants and coffee shops, we found ourselves strolling to Compass Rose most mornings for our favorite brew. That little gem became our go-to spot and added so much joy to the trip. If you're looking for a place that blends comfort, convenience, and a touch of local magic, this is it. Highly recommend!

Probably deserves 3 stars, but communication was great. Place was just okay, but having AC also let me give this a 4 star. Suggest getting a mirror since the only one is the bathroom small mirror and women like to see their outfits in a mirror. Plenty of wall space for a mirror somewhere. Also, suggest getting the backyard better and accessible so relaxing outside is possible since the front is on a street. Parking was unclear, but I just parked near the house.

Our stay was easy peasy. Good location to town and coast.

Walking distance to shops, restaurants and our favorite Compass Coffee. 5-10 minutes from Chetco Point, Mills Beach, McVay Beach and visitor center. Fresh fish at Lola’s by the Harbor. Thank you for the great amenities!

Had a great two night stay in Brookings. Very walkable location to local restaurants and breweries. Very clean and quiet place.

Worked out wonderfully, close to out event, great bars and restaurants, Fred Meyer and the hidden gem Chetco Point. We really enjoyed the porch too!

Clean, cozy, quiet, nice porch sitting, bathroom spotless! Wish the windows had a good clean so could have enjoyed the blinds up.

The house was clean and as described in the ad.

The cottage looked like a good place to stay, but hadn’t been cleaned. We called the office and were immediately moved to a bigger, spotlessly clean place. Great group to work with and would book with them again.

If you are looking for a place that's clean and comfortable this is it. The beds and pillows are comfortable, very little street noise and walking distance to a coffee shop and driving distance to beautiful beaches. Not a place to spend time in but a great place to spend to hang your hat.
