Captain's Cove+ Nolin Lake + Mammoth Cave + Arcade + Hot Tub, Expansive Lakefront Home on Nolin Lake...

We rented this amazing property for a reunion of college friends and a trip to Mammoth Cave. From the very beginning, Lee communicated well with lots of details and suggestions. Everything was so great for large group gatherings! Lots of seating and eating areas for everyone to be included with so much space inside and out! Everything was super clean, and there were lots of extras included. The views were great, and the kitchen well stocked with everything for cooking for the eight of us. Couldn’t ask for a better property for our weekend, and Lee was such a great host! Highly recommend renting this place!

Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Cub Run! We spent our days exploring Mammoth Cave, renting kayaks at Wax Marina, and swimming at the Iberia Recreation Area. There is also a great playground available at Dog Creek. There was plenty to do for everyone.The home was the perfect size for our group of 8 adults and 3 kids. Since we prefer cooking our meals on vacation, the kitchen got a lot of use, and we definitely put the dishwasher to work! There were so many comfortable places for everyone to gather, relax, and enjoy each other's company.Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with our family. We made great memories and would happily stay here again!

Our summer vacation stay at Captains Cove was excellent. The home was clean and well stocked with all of the essentials. Plenty of room for our group, and privacy when needed and the grandkids loved the game room and fishing at the lake. We hope to stay at Captains Cove again in the future.

Property is beautiful. We had 9 adults and there was plenty of space, rooms and activities for all. Host was very communicative and quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Kentucky home! It was the perfect setup for our group of two families with five kids—plenty of space for everyone to spread out, relax, and enjoy time together without ever feeling crowded.The property itself is beautiful—peaceful, well-maintained, and the kind of place where you instantly feel like you’re on vacation. The outdoor deck spaces were especially great for the kids to play, while the adults could unwind and take in the scenery.The amenities truly made the stay exceptional. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided, and then some. From the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable living spaces and thoughtful extras throughout the home, it was clear the hosts put a lot of care into creating a welcoming and convenient experience.Speaking of the hosts—they were incredible. So thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. It’s rare to find that level of hospitality, and it really made a difference.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to other families or groups looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Nice clean place with good amenities

Two families with 6 teens for our fall break enjoyed three days and 2 nights at the house. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. A family dream house with endless activities for kids and adults. We loved how much there is to do in the area and we saw so much wildlife. It was quiet and beautiful. We didn’t want to leave! The house was over the top equipped for us. Wonderful, wonderful stay!!

Perfect family vacation spot! Kids enjoyed the downstairs tremendously and adults enjoyed the main level. Beautiful place, inside and out! Hosts were extremely responsive to my questions before arrival. If come back to this area, we will definitely stay here again!

We had a great time in the water . The house had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space . I was involved in a car accident the week before the stay so the hill down to the water almost killed me , but overall a great time was had by all

The house is very nice and clean. Great outdoor area. The kids enjoyed the games.

Very spacious. Perfect for families. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, dishes. The kids loved the downstairs amenities. We hardly knew they were there. Large deck. Everything was exactly as described in listing.

We had a wonderful time at Captain’s Cove. The house was well suited to our family, with toys and books and entertainment for every age. It even had a pack n play and booster for the littles, even though we had brought our own. We used the hot tub and grill, visited Mammoth Cave (twice!) and Lost River Cave and Balance Distillery in Bowling Green. We put our kayaks in at the Dog Creek Recreational area, even though the State Park was closed, since we were there when the water was still high after the spring flooding. Plenty of space to spread out, but still gather together for family fun. Thanks Lee and Blake

Group of 12 guys in the area to play some area golf courses. The property was great and suited our needs well. Plenty of room for all 12 of us to spread out, sleep and relax. Lee was great to work with, very responsive and quick to answer all questions about the area, local places to eat and general property inquiries. Would definitely look to stay there again if in the area.

House was clean and well stocked. No problems with check in and had a wonderful stay. Everything exactly as described and fantastic. Would stay again if in area.

We stayed here with three families of four and it was a great fit! Six couples with six kids ages 3-13. They all had fun and even the adults enjoyed the old school arcade games. We made use of the pizza oven as well which was a real treat! Took the owners advice and used the ferry to get to Mammoth Cave, saved time and was a fun experience!

This house was excellent. Very well stocked. The most stocked house I have rented. Beautiful location. Very easy to talk to the owner. Would definitely return again.

The home was very beautiful and was just the right size for our family. We really enjoyed the quality family time that it provided.

Our group consisted of grandparents, kids and grandkids. The cabin was very nice with plenty of sleeping options for our motley group of 14. Everything was labelled which was very helpful. Lee resolved any concerns we had quickly. Since we were there in December and it rained a LOT, we spent most of the time checking out the caves in the area and bourbon tours so I cannot comment on the lake amenities. The teens and twenty somethings spent most of their time in the game area. WiFi and streaming options were great. Some in the group enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen and laundry were well equipped. Great views. One caution the driveway was large enough for our five cars, but rather steep in places.

House was great, arcade room for kids and kid amenities fantastic, kitchen utensils available the best I have had in staying at a VBRO property. Hot tub water smelled bad and looked dirty, heater quit working during stay, pilot for fireplace was out, and grill starter also didn’t work. Was able to get pilot lit and fireplace going as needed.

Everything was wonderful. The house was just as pictured and was perfect for our large family ages seven months-63 years to just be together.
