Capitano - Huge Luxury Beachfront Home with Private Pool & Rooftop Deck!

Pool, a/c units and fridge all needed repaired. We were lied to when I booked it so it's not handicap accessible but the views were fabulous

Capitano - Destin by the Sea just a few points to consider. I stopped keeping track. Exhausting… long story short it’s an amazing property not being maintained appropriately. The owners and management company should be embarrassed this is rented at a premium with so many things wrong and a management company that is non-existent to help.  Directions to get in the house should include that combination pad is in the garage on the entry door to the house. It does say that the kaba lock is through the garage if you know what a kaba lock is then you will be one. Not sure why batteries in smoke detectors would ever start beeping in a home that is properly maintained. Just change them once a year and you won’t get an emergency call at 9pm at night to come out.  Sink in downstairs bath won’t stop dripping. Sing in Master won’t drain properly. Fireplace in main room doesn’t work. Pool auto fill doesn’t work. We kept the hose in the pool to keep it full enough not to burn the pump up. 2 of the seven bedrooms do not have showers. This is not disclosed in the material but can be a rather large inconvenience if your party is all adults. Elevator inside door has severe pinch to sever of fingers risk. There is a “handle” that collapses as the door closes. Fingers in the wrong place and major cut! I found out the hard way! This is a safety violation that in a business would be fined by OSHA Coloring on stairs wall near 4th level. Stove top exhaust not working severely limits what you can cook inside. Tile busted inside bedroom 2nd level. Shutters unhooked or hooks missing in several bedrooms. Top level out door wet bar is badly damaged on backside. Inside of elevator is a mess. Control panel is loose, phone compartment won’t close, squeaks like crazy, inside door insulation is just nasty and non existent on 4th level. Railing around pool dented Automatic blinds need adjustment. Some lay on the floor when down. 2nd floor middle bedroom shower on/off is very loose Air conditioners seem to over cool. Hard to keep house a consistent temperature Baseboard not secured in kitchen at base of stove There really should be a broom and vacuum cleaner in the house. Not enough letters left in review to list everything wrong! We left a day early.

We had a great time at Capitano. The beach was wonderful, the restaurant next door great & our place was opulent. We enjoyed the big kitchen, great bar & the pool table. Thank goodness we paid for heating of the pool, the cool weather kept us in the warm pool & hot tub. All 14 of us had fun & made precious memories! I would suggest a detailed book on how to operate all the lights, various doors, stove, oven & fireplaces. We had several fire places that are not currently operable & would have helped warm our bedrooms during the unusual cold snap in FL. Our 6th annual cousin beach week in now in the books! Thanks for the great home!

Unbelievable home with an amazing location. It had everything we needed for our group and more. Propery Manager was great to work with and always ensuring our stay was perfect.

What An amazing home......... My husband along with family gathered together to celebrate my 50th birthday. Everything posted regarding the home was accurate, we had plenty of room for everyone, the views are just BEAUTIFUL . Thanks Five Star Management for the outstanding service you gave us.

Destin, the beach and the house are just amazingly beautiful and fun!! We all loved this gorgeous home with the private beach right down the back steps, the pool with hot tub was an added bonus that the kids really enjoyed along with the pool table entertainment room :) this property did not disappoint from the views, the easy access to the beach activities, shopping and food!! The furnishings were high end, gorgeous, comfortable and the multiple floors provide ample space for everyone to spread out or gather. We can’t wait to plan our trip to come back soon and thank you so much for sharing this lovely home with our family! Cory & Tina

We loved that the beach was private, as was the pool. Overall the house is gorgeous. The location was great. We did take out from the crab trap next door two nights. Overall a great trip. Had some issues with air conditioning when we first arrived: especially on the 3rd and 4th floor (hot and humid). Had trouble with the refrigerator for the first few days - would not cool. We were disappointed that we could not use the tent canopy we brought to shade the small children on the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas don't work for them. This should have been in the information about the property up front so we didn't waste money buying two canopies.

The Capitano condo is impressive in its size and great location. Five Star Rentals customer service was, also, outstanding. We had a great stay. The only negative is the facility itself is looking a bit dog eared and is need of repairs (i.e., the hot tub on the fourth floor was not usable due to leakage & many of the outdoor lighting fixtures are broken). Property owner needs to do a bit of refreshing of the property to restore the grandeur of the facility. Do not let the negative comments stop you from booking the Capitano. The location and size of the structure made for a great family vacation.

The support team for this property was responsive, professional, and un-intrusive. We believe that we had a memorable Thanksgiving as a family. The minor issues were handled and the cleanliness of the house on arrival was superb. Congratulations on becoming our family favorite.
