THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Olde Kensington is a vibrant and up-and-coming neighborhood that is known for its mix of old and new, its trendy restaurants and shops, and its proximity to the Schuylkill River. The neighborhood is also home to a number of historic buildings, including the former Kensington Brewery, which is now a mixed-use development. If you are looking for a vibrant and up-and-coming neighborhood with a mix of old and new, then Olde Kensington is a great option.

There is a pack-n-play available at the house as well however we do not provide baby linens. Also, please note, while we do enjoy hosting your pet on our property, the type allowed is at our discretion and there will be a charge of $50.00 per pet before VRBO's taxes and fees.

    Property was big enough for a family of five in a great up and coming area. One block from a grocery store and trolley stop. Two blocks from several restaurants and bars. Less than five minute walk to the subway. Free parking two blocks north on 2nd. Place was easy to find and get in to even though it was dark by the time we got there. We had one very minor issue that the owner was able to help us with quickly over the phone. There is a coffee machine but no Kuerig machine or French Press as was listed on the paperwork. Not a problem for me but my wife went to the Starbucks in the grocery store. Overall a great place to stay and would gladly stay there again if we come back to Philly.

    Great spot to stay a few nights in the Fishtown area. Went to catch a show at Johnny Brenda’s and this property within a short walk. Property was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

    Well enough appointed; kitchen is very accommodating. Cannot park on street but decent parking within two blocks — parallel parking skills a MUST. Two issues have to be addressed — front door entrance is a nightmare. We had to work with the keypad and knob 15 times every time we tried to enter. Couldn’t get a lightbulb replaced in living room for five days — so no lamps, just bright overhead lighting. Otherwise, good location, good apartment. Minor improvements would be a major help!

    We stayed at the first floor unit last weekend. It is clean with a full kitchen but not a whole lot of utensils/ cooking gadget but that was fine with us. Comfortable beds and amazing air conditioner. Property is managed by a company and communication is at a bare minimum. Nothing other than coffee to welcome guests.

    The property is renovated, well-decorated, and had everything we needed for a great stay. The beds and sheets were comfortable, so everyone slept well. The apartment is on a somewhat busy street and you can hear a lot of traffic noise in the front living room, but the bedrooms are set to the rear, so you aren’t bothered when it’s time to sleep. We were walking distance to great Fishtown bars and restaurants, which was fun. Also walking distance to markets, if you forget anything. The internet connection was too slow to allow us to stream movies at night, but fine otherwise. We especially loved being able to bring our well-behaved dogs with us for a weekend away. They loved all of the new smells in the neighborhood and the pet stores a block or two away. Thank you for a great weekend!

    One of the few disappointing things was the lack of silverware for eating, the light wouldn’t go off in the laundry room and there wasn’t a propane bottle for the nice grill outside. We were led to believe there was already a propane bottle available that we might have to refill. Also, it would’vebeen helpful to have a printed TV guide to know available channels. Otherwise, it was a nice comfortable place to stay. Loved the shower!
