Stayed Apr 12, 2025Casa Gratitud was everything we hoped it would be. We enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous home overlooking the bay. The home was clean and well appointed with most everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing weeklong stay. Do be warned that there are 200 stairs from the trail to the house. We enjoyed the daily workout and the view is worth it!Make sure that the water taxi drops you off at the correct pier when you arrive as there are two in the town. We didn’t know and arrived to the wrong one. Yelapa is a charming town that is a welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Everyone was so friendly and the fresh shrimp ceviche, guacamole, and groceries awaiting us at the house were a huge hit! Thank you Yanet!

Stayed Jan 6, 2025Casa Gratitud was a beautiful reprieve and place to relax while enjoying the Mexican Bay of Banderas in the quaint fishing village of Yelapa. The house sits well above the coast affording a view that never grows old with whales spouting and playing almost every day. The landscaping surrounding the home is beautiful, blending in with the natural, lush landscape of palm trees, banana trees, and other rainforest type vegetation. The three levels of the home made for just the right amount of space for a family to spread out and not feel cramped, but the main living area was where we could hang out all together very comfortably. The patio provided outdoor seating for dining and games, but the kitchen bar was convenient for grabbing quick breakfasts and snacks. The kitchen was clean and stocked well enough for us to eat almost all of our breakfasts in the house, as well as to prepare two meals. (The food in Yelapa was wonderful too, however, so preparing meals is not completely necessary.)Although the weather was cloudy and not as warm as we had hoped for, Casa Graditud saved the trip, making our family vacation memorable, relaxing, and beautiful!

Stayed Nov 29, 2024This house is so amazing and the hosts were really fantastic and helpful. Tucked up a large hill in the jungle with amazing views. The steps to the house are up a large hill and very steep and are not for elderly or really young kids. Would definitely stay there again

Stayed Apr 13, 2024This place is amazing. Sitting on the patio overlooking the bay and ocean is bliss. The interior is very comfortable and gave plenty of space for my family of four (two teenagers) to spread out. This was also easily the CLEANEST VRBO that I’ve ever stayed in. A vey nice touch that cleaners came during our visit. The local hosts were incredibly kind and helpful to plan activities. They arranged for groceries to be delivered to the house upon our arrival - including homemade guacamole and ceviche. The town of Yelapa is great. I know tourists have descended on this tranquil fishing village but you can still see/feel the local culture. Highly recommend.

Stayed Mar 24, 2024Casa Gratitud is one of the most uniquely gorgeous and incredible properties I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. From its remote nature and impeccable views to the hospitable and helpful host family, Casa Gratitud is a true piece of heaven on earth. My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Gratitud for three days and had two large suitcases with us due to some prior travel. If you have larger luggage, I would definitely recommend booking the private boat ride and luggage help that will be offered to you- it was a truly seamless experience! From pick up at Boca de Tomatlan in PV to walking our bags all the way into the living room of Casa Gratitud, we couldn't have asked for an easier travel experience. It is definitely a strenuous walk up the hill to the Casa, so don't feel bad about needing to rest! The wonderful host family pre-stocked the fridge for us with delicious essentials like fresh fruit, breakfast items, etc.. It was perfect! Another aspect we would recommend taking advantage of to make your stay even better. Definitely be sure to bring enough pesos for the duration of your stay in Yelapa as there are no ATMs. Steve and his local host family did an incredible job of giving us all of the essential information we needed to feel prepared in traveling to a remote town like Yelapa. We cannot wait to book another stay at Casa Gratitud!!

Stayed Feb 6, 2024Truly magical… Casa Gratitud is truly a special place. We were lucky enough to spend an entire week enjoying the peace and beauty of the casa and exploring the colorful sights and flavors of Yelapa. Be ready for a hike up to the house. That is one thing that kind of took us by surprise. But once you turn that last corner and get a glimpse of the house…wow! The tired legs are quickly revived by the beauty of the house and the gardens surrounding it. The ocean and jungle views paired with the sounds of the waves and birds is magical. The house was extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable. Double WiFi routers made for perfect service. Anything you think you might need, they had- shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hairdryer, q-tips, shopping bags, a cooler tote, a 5gallon jug of filtered water, lightweight towels for the beach, games, umbrellas…you will want for nothing. And if you do, Felipe, Yanet and their team are available to help. The giant patio with a large table was great for outdoor dining, relaxing and playing games. There is ample space to gather together and plenty of private space for some peaceful solitude. We like to be fairly active on our vacations, so we left the house daily. It was a 20 minute walk to the pier from the house, so we made sure to plan accordingly. We filled our days hiking, snorkeling, fishing, shopping, eating, drinking, meandering through town…all wonderful… Ok, done gushing about our stay…it was wonderful and we can’t wait to return!!

Stayed Jan 2, 2024We stayed at Casa Gratitud with our two older teens and fell in love with everything about it— the house itself, the views, the natural surroundings, the town of Yelapa and its people. The owners, Steve and Bill, were very helpful and communicative from the very start. They shared all the information we needed well in advance of our arrival and were always available to answer any questions before and during our stay. The local hosts, Yanet and Felipe, are also wonderful. We paid Yanet to cook dinner for us one evening, and her food was fantastic. The house is incredibly well-maintained and stocked— by the far the best of any rental we’ve stayed in over our 30 years of travel. The owners have thought of everything, including redundant WiFi carriers so you always have internet service. Yelapa is a really special place, with many fun things to do and to explore, but the house itself was the highlight of our two weeks in Mexico (we were in San Pancho as well). Casa Gratitud is truly breathtaking- there are no other words to describe thr architecture and the views. We spent many hours sitting on the huge deck, with its views of the lights of Puerto Vallarta, the main beach in Yelapa, the surrounding jungle vegetation, and the ocean. We saw whales on at least 3 occasions and sat together talking under the stars at night. I could go on, but the gist is that you could spend all day at this house, never going anywhere, and have the best vacation.
