Under 2 hours' drive from Sydney, this 4 bedroom cottage is the ideal country retreat for couples, families, or a group of friends. Birdsong provides all the comforts you need for a quality country stay. Luxury furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and reverse cycle air-conditioning provide year round comfort. The deck offers picture-perfect views over the pool and mountainside and while the sunsets are spectacular, the ever-changing panorama will keep you captivated throughout your stay.

- The property has a fenced pool and an unfenced dam, and while children are warmly welcomed, they must be supervised at all times

Where will I be

Birdsong is a 10 minute drive from the Kangaroo Valley Village. FItzroy Falls is also a short drive away, and it is 30 minutes to many of the other towns and villages you will find in the Southern Highlands.

If you appreciate solitude and being surrounded by nature but like to take your rustic with a side of luxe, Birdsong might just be your new favourite place. The cottage has been beautifully reimagined in modern country style and sits on 5 lush green acres backed by ancient rainforest.

How is the property laid out

The master bedroom has a king bed that overlooks a small wooden deck (perfect for your morning coffee) to old-growth cedar trees filled with the sounds of birdsong. A beautiful ensuite with a shower and toilet adds to the feeling of quiet luxury.
Down the panelled hallway are 2 further queen bedrooms, one with its own bathroom that has a shower and a toilet. The fourth bedroom has both a queen and a loft bed and can sleep 2 adults, or alternatively makes a fun retreat for 2 or 3 children. The shared bathroom has a bath, shower and toilet.

It's easy to throw together a quick meal or indulge your cooking passions in the chef's kitchen, which features a Smeg oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and microwave.

The lounge area has an open fireplace, comfy sofas and a leather chair that is the perfect place to sit and browse the extensive book collection or just gaze out through the 7 metre picture window to the pastures and escarpment beyond. There is also a dining area and a washer and dryer for your use.

WiFi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it

Complimentary WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email.

Please note that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If WiFi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.

What about outdoors

The deck features a gas barbecue and outdoor dining furniture with picture-perfect views over the pool and mountainside. The fire pit, perched high with mountain views, is perfect for endless marshmallows and hot chocolate shared with friends. On lazy summer weekends, sip a cold gin and tonic and enjoy some sunshine by the 8 metre mineral swimming pool. The lush gardens are a joy to explore with grassy lawns, a paddock with dramatic views to enjoy a sunset picnic, and established trees and flowerbeds that attract wildlife including wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, fairy wrens, lyrebirds and owls.

Staying warm or keeping cool

There is ducted heating and cooling throughout the house for year round comfort. There is a fireplace in the living room for those crisp winter nights.

What about sheets, towels and other supplies

Birdsong supplies all bed linen, sheets, bath towels and pool towels.

Parking for cars, etc

Birdsong has open air parking for 2 cars.

Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay

Yes! Dogs are welcome to stay at Birdsong subject to the following:
- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house
- Absolutely no dogs on the furniture, rugs, or in the bedrooms
- Please bring a dog bed and and food bowls
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately

Wildlife

Please note that due to the nature and location of this property, wildlife may be about including possums, kangaroos, ants, spiders, bees, wasps and even snakes. We do whatever we can to keep the property safe, however we cannot guarantee that you will not see any wildlife at the property. You must book the property knowing that the possibility of encountering wildlife exists, and you must take care during your visit if walking around the property - please.

What are the minimum stay rules

- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights

Are there any special Summer Season rules

Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
